Air Brake Disc Rotor problems of the 2004 Nissan Crew

Five problems related to air brake disc rotor have been reported for the 2004 Nissan Crew. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Air Brake Disc Rotor problem

Failure Date: 08/16/2005

Nissan's titan brakes, especially the front disc, failed 3 times. The rotors would build up heat, then shimmy under braking. Nissan retro fit an upgrade kit with larger, vented front disc and a different brake pad. They also machined the rear rotors and installed new pads. This was at 19954 miles. Now the vehicle has 32200 miles and the brakes grind under load. The dealer has inspected the vehicle and states that this is normal. The grinding is felt through the pedal and is able to be felt by the passenger via the floorboard. It is also audible. The dealer states that the pad material may be changed, but that the shimmy would return. The grinding indicates additional wear on the rotors, leading to more recurrent and more costly repairs. The fear of a failure is unacceptable.

2 Air Brake Disc Rotor problem

Failure Date: 07/13/2005

I'm leasing a 2005 armada. I leased the vehicle in October of 2004. Since then I've had to take it back 3 times to have the rotors resurfaced, this week will make number 4. Nissan has indicated that they are aware the problem and that I need to bring it in every time this happens and that they are working on a recall. The car shakes uncontrollably and is difficult to stop. At times it bounces as you are applying the brakes which has caused me to go into other lanes of traffic. When starting the vehicle and applying the brakes the car still goes forward even though the brakes are applied. I have to put all my weight down on the brake peddle in order to stop this from happening. At times this has caused me to almost hit vehicles in front of me when I'm in a parking lot. Last week I was making a 3 point turn and backed up. The car didn't stop and I hit a pole. This caused damage to my censors on the bumper and damage to the bumper. I have yet to advise Nissan but plan to do so. I tried to trade in this vehicle for a different Nissan and the same dealership was not as willing to work the deal with this car as they have the past two cars I've leased from the same dealer. Iam assuming because it's falling apart. Aside from the major defect this car has (the brakes). Accessories are just falling off the car, plastic pieces are coming off from the back seats. My electronic seat buttons that are located on the seats by the doors are coming out. The sunglass compartment fell off completely. This car needs to be recalled.

3 Air Brake Disc Rotor problem

Failure Date: 05/31/2005

Rotor warping causing brake issues.

4 Air Brake Disc Rotor problem

Failure Date: 03/31/2005

Front brake defect. Brakes worn to unusable condition every 2000 miles. Nissan states this is not a safety issue. Twice my vehicle has been unable to maintain proper braking power while on the major freeways of southern California.

5 Air Brake Disc Rotor problem

Failure Date: 03/03/2005

My 2004 Nissan titan se Crew cab 4x4 has had it's rotors resurfaced twice with less than 15,000 miles on it. The entire front end shakes when brakes are applied. Nissan aware and admit rotor flaw for titan and armada. My rotors cannot be resurfaced again, nor can I get new rotors because they no longer produce the originals and they can't give me a date for the new kit. Meanwhile, I'm driving this vehicle on the highway each day to go to work. I've almost had 2 accidents because the vehicle bears to the left or right when brakes are applied.
