general problems of the 2004 Nissan Crew

Two problems related to steering have been reported for the 2004 Nissan Crew. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Steering problem

Failure Date: 11/13/2004

The first day after receiving the car and getting onto the highway I noticed the vehicle would exhibit harsh vibrations. It was too much vibration to be tolerated. I scheduled an appointment with my local service dealer they rotated and balanced the tires, adjusted the steering rack (a TSB issued) and found my front passenger side strut had blown. I had to drive a whole month with a blown strut to wait for parts to get in and it was very dangerous. The violent vibrations were still not taken care of. That was the first trip. When I finally went in to get the strut fix they balanced my tires yet again. This seem to eliminate the vibrations from 45-55, but at 60-80+ mph there were still violent vibrations and the intensity had not been lessened. I am scheduled for yet another appointment specifically to fix the vibrations. I do not want to go in for a 4th time and have nothing fixed. I am extremely disappointed with the situation, the vehicle, and Nissan for letting such an issue as this get so large. Having subscribed on many forums online, Ive noticed that I am not the only one with these issues.

2 Steering problem

Failure Date: 11/11/2004

There has been a vibration in the steering since purchase (now 14000 miles). Was originally told that the car has to be broken in and then dealer balanced tires. The car is now at the dealer for the 3rd time.
