Radiator leaked into transmission cooler and destroyed transmission. Rebuild of transmission and radiator replacement cost of over 5000 vehicle stalled in middle of intersection.
Vehicle shut off while driving on the highway. I was driving down the highway at 65 mph when the truck made a quick jerk and them completely shut off. I came very close to causing a highway pile up!! I had no power, no steering no nothing. Luckily I was able to get across 3 lanes safely. Cars were slamming on brakes and luckily I didnt kill myself or anyone else. Once I got the the side of the road I was able to get the truck going and safely get to an exit. I creeped home on a wing a prayer and now the truck is sitting in my driveway. I dont dare to use it and I need it. I am scared to drive it, ithas given me anxiety, it was horrific. My truck has 94220 miles on it.
Driving along at 65 miles per hour seemed like transmission went into neutral and engine revved up. Rolled to side of road. Truck would no longer move. Had truck towed to garage where they informed me that the transmission had coolant in it and had wiped it out. To replace trans and radiator was 5300 dollars.
Fuel sensor & gauge malfunctioned; Nissan acknowledged the defective part, but will not replace. They doubled the warranty of the part, but I fall outside the "years owned" guidelines. Nonetheless, I feel Nissan should repair the item for free since it's been determined to be a faulty part on many vehicles and could be a safety issue.
I brought my truck into the Nissan dealer after transmission problems. Nissan acknowledged that there is a known defect with the 2005 Frontier that causes cross contamination between the radiator and transmission. Despite only being 6k over the 80k free repair, I had to pay $2500 out of pocket for deductible. This seems unreasonable as it is a known defect affecting 2005-2009 Frontiers and xterras.
My vehicle has developed a vibration while I am driving which has been very uncomfortable, however, nothing major in the performance of the vehicle, however, now my vehicle has decided to randomly turn off while driving. This is extremely dangerous and could cause an accident. I took it to the Nissan dealership and they said that they found trans fluid mixing with coolant due to leaking trans cooler in radiator and the total cost would come out to $5,000. I am unable to afford this bill so I have not been able to repair my vehicle.
The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated that after refueling, the fuel level indicator provided an inaccurate reading of empty. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for inspection. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 57,000.
I am having a fuel sending unit problem. Same problem Nissan is having with other Nissan trucks and they have recalled the newer models for replace at no cost to the customer. On my 2005 they offer no help at all. They know sending unit is defective. This problem of maybe running out of gas and being rear ended I think is a safety concern. Nissan should repair all trucks that they have defective parts in. I have had no accidents.
At around 48 or 49 thousand miles, my 2005 Nissan Frontier "service engine soon" light came on. Also, my fuel gage failed. I took my truck for scheduled emissions test and the truck failed. The diagnostic trouble code came up po463 "fuel level sensor failure". Told by dealer that it was a 650 to 900 dollar repair and that there was no recall at this time.
I have the same problem with the fuel level sensor as reported by many other Nissan Frontier owners . I saw that there was a recall issued by Nissan for 2006 and 2008 models . I am experiencing the same problem with the fuel level sensor on my 2005 Frontier . I contracted the dealer and they will not correct the problem at their cost . Why won't they recall the 2005 Frontiers if the have the same problem ? [xxx] .
The check engine light on my 05 Nissan Frontier came one last week. After checking the error codes p0463, it seems that the fuel level senor is malfunctioning. Shortly after discovering the problem I contacted the dealership to ask about repair and cost. The dealership wanted $600 for the repair and the part was on back order, and they wouldn't be able to fix it until next week. Two days after I checked with the dealership, I was driving home on a major interstate when my truck stopped functioning. In the middle of rush hour traffic I had to coast my vehicle to the emergency lane.
I own a 2005 Nissan Frontier. When I hit 50,000 around October 2009 the dte, distance till empty read"---". The service light stays on all the time. Whenever I fill up with fuel it takes days for the gas gauge to read. It stays on empty most of the time and the empty light is on all of the time. I have been looking on line for fixes but everything points to faulty sender unit. I can not afford to fix this in this economic time. I think companies that make faulty parts by the billions should fix the problem or stop doing business.
