My air bag light has been on and took it into the dealership. Was told the front impact sensor was the issue, which was covered under a Nissan campaign for known issues. Truck was initially purchased in NY and driven on salted roads, which was the cause for sensor failure, however I lived in FL at the time the recall was issued. The campaign was 08v690000.
Tl the contact owns a 2006 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to legend Nissan (268 jericho turnpike, syosset, NY 11791, (516) 496-8181) where it was diagnosed that the front crash zone sensor was degraded and needed to be repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced the same failure as listed in NHTSA campaign number: 08v690000 (air bags). The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 182,376.
Tl- the contact owns a 2006 Nissan Frontier. While parked the contact notice the air bag light illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for a diagnostic. The technicians stated the air bag sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000. Vf.
I was driving my truck (Nissan Frontier) last night when all of a sudden the airbag light came on while driving. This light will not go off. Then when I took the truck to the dealership today I was told that I would have to pay for the cost to repair the airbag component and they wanted over 400 dollars to fix the issue. They stated that they did not have the part and it is okay to drive the truck the way it is. I do not feel safe any longer in this truck.
