The contact made the manufacturer aware of the failure, and the manufacturer referred the contact to his local dealer to have the vehicle diagnosed. The vehicle was taken to local dealer (tom hesser Nissan , 900 oneil hwy, dunmore, PA, 18512) where it was diagnosed that the radiator hose was leaking fluid into the transmission causing the transmission to fail. Purchased this vehicle in Jan of 2017 as a used truck. Had less than 2 mos. The transmission has failed. As we took it to our mechanic for repair, we discovered Nissan has had this issue on several of their models. The radiator fluid had leaked into the transmission and ruined the transmission.
Transmission cooler in radiator leaked causing engine coolant to mix with transmission fluid causing transmission to break down.
The well known issue of radiator fluid leaking into the transmission which destroys the transmission rendering it useless. Many complaints about the same issue with these vehicles. My truck is dead and this issue has been well documented, a class action suit was filed, Nissan should be liable to repair these faulty transmissions. My problem began at low miles, I've spent $2000 at Nissan to replace the faulty radiator and flush the transmission 2x to try and save it. This is a well known issue that needs to be addressed.
Known defect by Nissan. Radiator fluid leaks into transmission causing complete failure of transmission. They have extended warranty for new transmission but comes with a $2500 deductible. Why should I have to pay anything when they know they made a defective product.
I have had this vehicle in twice now due to the smell of leaking anti freeze and have been told no problem ,now we have gotten two different things about the radiator and transmission I have called the customer service number they gave and they told me to look for leaks or check fluid for milky color, there needs to be a total recall on these before someone gets seriously hurt!.
