Auxillary Tank problems of the 2009 Nissan Frontier

The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated the fuel level indicator failed in October 2008 and a local independent mechanic replaced the fuel gauge tank. The manufacturer was contacted and advised there was a recall in effect for the failure. The contact was told his vehicle was included in the recall and he would be reimbursed for the failure. Later, he received notification of NHTSA campaign id number 10v075000 (fuel system, gasoline: storage: auxillary tank) and took the vehicle to an authorized dealer. The dealer installed an o-ring and the fuel sending unit. The contact was not reimbursed for the initial repair and when contacting the manufacturer, he was told an agent would contact him at a later date in regards to reimbursement. The failure mileage was approximately 31,247 and the current mileage was approximately 32,000.
