On December 29th 2025 I was driving the vehicle in a residential area approximately 40 mph. The interior abs warning lights illuminated. I could here a banging noise coming from the back of the vehicle. I took the vehicle to a Nissan dealership who inspected it and said the entire rear braking system including rotors bubs sensors and axle were damaged and needed to be replaced. The dealership stated the parking brake was engaged while the vehicle was being driven. Never has the parking brake on that vehicle been engaged manually since I purchased it 1 year ago. Cost to repair is $6000 not covered by warranty. Clearly driving a vehicle in a mountain region with a completely destroyed rear brake system is dangerous. A vehicle that inadvertently engages the emergency brake is dangerous. And even being able to operate the vehicle with the emergency brake engaged id dangerous.

The brakes have failed several times, seems to be a known issues and affecting others. While our Nissan truck is older, we had our Nissan checked at midas, and then at the local continental Nissan location, that didn’t really help, found a part that helped but only for a short period of time, as this part crapped out again yesterday 3/19/2025, and even though the brake pushed to the floor trying to stop as the brakes stopped working again! the part was only approx 2-5 months old. Nissan Frontier dealership or other places to find the actual parts needed have no real parts that would actually fix the issue. It is very sad for those in the same issue as us, pay $$$ for a used vehicle that cannot seem to be fixed, if they have even tried. I’m pretty sure nothing will be done, but wanted to file this complaint. I’m not expecting anything will be reviewed on this issue, since nothing has been seen thus far for an actual fix via Nissan etc.

While driving I heard a couple beeps and the display said "system failure". Then all the warning lights (abs, forward collision, andrear collision) were on. This will be the third time it has happened. The dealer looked into it and determined it might be the condition when driving like rain or fogg or now, but at the time it happened, it was a clear day. No fix or solution was done to the truck.

The trucks, automatic emergency braking system activated, causing an accident that otherwise would not have occurred. Prior to this incident - forward collision warning, rear cross traffic, and blind spot warning lights would activate episodically.
I am unsure which components, but have had more than 1 issue with this vehicle. First, was the scariest. Iwas backing out of driveway onto the roadway, and the back up alarm went of and brakes locked up as the onward traffic was coming towards me. I was barely able to move in time. There was no cars or pedestrians near the back of truck to even set it off. Still scared to back it up for fear of not being lucky enough the next time it happens. Computer system issue?? while driving, seatbelt alarm goes off 60% of time while I am wearing mine and only one in vehicle. I tried getting video of this issue since it does not happen consistently. The other issue, while driving, all the lights on dash came on and it flashed 2 different messages about the system failure. This truck is 3 months old and I am scared to drive it!! just want to see if there have been any other people with similar experience in their Nissan.
On September 16, 2022 my 2022 Nissan Frontier equiped with 997. 00 dollar optional rear automatic braking parking assist failed to work. I was backing out of somerset, ky shopping center position when a adult woman pushing shopping cart passed by behind, I observed her in mirror and stopped before impact. My truck issued no beep or auto braking as vehicle was supposed to do. In the past 6000 miles driven I have observed the failure of aeb/beeping when backing close to tree or other car, and other times it will beep and auto brake when your backing up to a concrete parking curb that is just 5 inch tall designed to put your tire against. I paid extra for this backing assist due wife and I are near 70 yrs old and suffer from stiff necks. I will take in for service and mention this failure. I would warn others this option is waste of money as I don't trust it, I look around and check mirrors as I back.
June 24, 2022 driving the vehicle at average speed 52-54 in highways when I pressed the brake it didnt respond, the automatic emergency braking did not activate or stop the vehicle. The air bag's also didn't were deployed, or engaged. The vehicle stop with the back section of the close vehicle in front. Thanks god, nobody was hurt physically.
While driving on an open stretch of highway at around 70mph, the aeb system engaged. This caused a hazard as my vehicle rapidly decelerated on a highway when there was no obstacle in the road. The vehicle has not been brought in for service yet.
On 2 recent occasions the truck's warning lights flashed on the dash and the vehicle applied the brakes for no apparent reason. The first occurance the dealer in fairfield, ohio, guessed there may have been debris blocking the camera eye. On the second occurance the dealer in springdale, ohio, could find no recalls or reason for the malfunction. Our concern is this malfunction will happen when the vehicle is going 70 mph on an interstate.
I bought my 2022 Nissan Frontier pro-x on 09/12/2021. Since day 1 it had something loose under the hood and was making cracking sounds. Had to bring it in and they tightened something and then had to do a full re-alignment. And before I even hit 1k miles my aerial / backup camera stop working and I’m now waiting on a whole new camera control assembly unit that is on back order and they claim could take months. Also my aeb sensor is not working and after doing research I see a lot of people have had issues with that too and the vehicles making unexpected aeb lock engagement in the middle of driving on the highway. In addition I’ve also had a 4th issue, the steering seems very off balance and vehicle sways too easily. I feel like this truck has had too many issues for being brand new and not only has been very inconvenient but I also feel it is a safety hazard at this point.
My husband and I bought a new truck. My husband pulled the truck into our garage, once in the garage the back tires started to spin out of control, he looked down and saw he had his foot on the brake only, but truck surged forward causing no injuries but have minor truck and property damage. Have a picture of where there is stationary tire marks on our epoxy garage floor showing the black tire marks of the tires spinning out of control just before the truck surged forward. After this incident we found articles about sudden unintended acceleration which we feel is what happened to my husband. The dealership we bought the vehicle from has been derogatory from the start of this incident. We have contacted several attorneys to only be turned down saying we don’t have a case because my husband wasn’t injured (thank god). We waived the manufacturer arbitration and found only one attorney who took us through pre-litigation but then discharged us after getting the denial letter from the manufacturer, telling us to get a second opinion. We're at a crossroads and don't know what to do at this point. Morally, would it be right to trade in what we feel is a dangerously defective new vehicle? for that is the crossroads we stand at, either pursuing a civil lawsuit or trading it in. The truck was inspected once by the manufacturer and once by the dealership where we bought it. We are currently asking the dealership’s garage to further check the electronic throttle-control and brake override system on this truck. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
