Electronic Stability Control problem #1

The yawrate sensor and abs diagnostic module had to be replaced to keep my vehicle from grabbing the brakes as I started driving.

Electronic Stability Control problem #2

While driving and attempting to stop at a stop sign the brakes became spongy (not firm) and pedal traveled to the floor resulting in longer braking distances unless I pump the pedal. This occurred after applying the brakes ahead of a stop sign as the vehicle rolled over a bump/irregularity in the road. The abs and vdc (anti-slip) activated briefly then the pedal got soft. It remained in this condition (spongy and excessive pedal travel) until reached my destination. The first instance of this occurring the brake system seemed to correct itself with the vehicle parked and ignition off overnight (good pedal firmness and normal pedal travel and braking distances the next morning). However, after a second time this happened (brake gets soft after abs and anti-slip activates) the spongy and long pedal travel remains. Replaced master cylinder and bled system (used motive power bleeder) did troubleshooting on brake booster, booster vacuum line and check valve and all checked fine. Inspected brake lines for bulges, damage and looseness at all calipers all ok. All pads and rotors checked good (no excessive wear or missing parts). Also, disconnected battery to see if the abs/vdc system resets. No change to brake pedal travel and spongy feel. Brake problems as described still remains.

Electronic Stability Control problem #3

I was driving my vehicle but it seem like it wasn't getting power. I shut it off and then it would not start. Add the starter replaced still and start the ate up fuse was blown. Ticket to electrical shop they could not find anything wrong with it. Took it to the dealer they said it was the brain ecu and then they said that it was the brain and the transmission and the transmission was no good cost $5500 to fix.

Electronic Stability Control problem #4

I was driving my vehicle in a parking lot, but it seemed like it wasn't getting power. So, I shut it off and when I tried starting it again the fans and lights came on but nothing else. I took it to firestone and they said it was the starter. They replaced the starter and that didn't fix the problem. They changed the atecu fuse. It started and ran for three minutes and then died again. Then I took it to an electrical shop. They couldn't find anything wrong. Then I took it to the Nissan dealer and they said it was the brain ecm. They fixed that and it still wouldn't start the car. Then they said it was the ecu and transmission. They said the transmission was no good due to cross contamination (radiator fluid into the transmission). This is a Nissan defective radiator and they charged $5500 for a mistake that wasn't my fault.

Electronic Stability Control problem #5

On 11/10/2018 while driving on the freeway with no warning light my 2006 Nissan starts to lose power!!! I was able to get off the freeway and pull into a gas station to call aaa to tow it to a mechanic. The mechanic told me the transmission has coolent in it and the transmission will need I be rebuilt or replaced with a rebuilt transmission. He said there was a crack in the coolent hose that was a manufacture defect. I never got any warning light until after the transmission failed.

Electronic Stability Control problem #6

As I was driving, my 05 Nissan Frontier stalled, shut down and lost all power. It took a while for it to restart and it was a very dangerous situation as I was almost rear ended on the 2 lane road in henderson, nv. I am obviously petrtified to drive so I began to to research this situation. Just for the hell of it, I tried to start the next morning and it didn't start. After a few hours, however, it started. Just to make sure, I had my starter and battery looked at and was told they were fine, but I was told it could be the ecm relay. This was recalled in 2011 and I had it changed out at henderson Nissan. I also replaced the ecm relay last week to make sure the part didn't go bad, but the vehicle was still stalling and intermittently starting. Upon more research I found that different types of Nissans were having the same problem. The titans, exterras, and pathfinders. Lots of older models, but even new vehicles that were just purchased from the dealership. I proceeded to henderson Nissan and described what was happening and wad told it was the ipdm unit. I also spoke with certified mechanics and they said the same thing. I purchased the parts. This is a huge safety issue. If one of these vehicles ever stalls and loses power on a busy highway or road the aftermath can be deadly for the owner of the Nissan and their passengers and other innocent drivers on the road. This serious condition can cause bodily harm, and even death. I was lucky I wasn't in an accident the day it happened to me, I truly thank god! I fully believe that all Nissan's should be recalled and have the new ipdm unit installed as I hear the the original ipdm unit was designed improperly. The newer updated model is slightly different in appearance, and fits the titan as well. This is so serious, and Nissan knows that it should have this recalled.

Electronic Stability Control problem #7

My complaint is that my vehicle is turning off with a brand newly installed battery and my Nissan dealership cannot read my car to understand why this is happening. They kept my vehicle for close to a month and still did not fix the problem. The vehicle never fails to turn over, but it just loses power and turns off like someone snatched out the battery. Sometimes it fails to turn over, right away, but then it turns over and I can drive it a few miles before it stalls on me again, even while driving. I have 64,500 miles on this vehicle and I have babied it since I purchased it brand new in 12/2009. The slip light comes on and the o/d light flashes and then the vehicle gets confused and shuts off. It is annoying. It feels like a battery issue and my Nissan dealership changed what they called a faulty positive terminal hook-up but I still have this issue where my vehicle will not stay powered. I have to repeatedly start the vehicle back up and barely make it home. I was never in a crash, but I did hit the bottom of my vehicle on an abutment that was in a automotive parking lot while I was driving at 3mph. But this happened in 2014 December and I had the vehicle looked at and drove it for almost two years without any problems.

Electronic Stability Control problem #8

The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Frontier. While driving 5 mph, the vehicle stalled and the check engine and slip warning indicators illuminated. The contact was able to restart the vehicle on the first attempt. The contact stated that the failure occurred a total of three times. The vehicle was not taken to a local dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 97,000.

Electronic Stability Control problem #9

Lead spring snap for no reason after taking a nice Sunday drive I didn't know what it was just herd a rattle on the driver side it was a clean snap straight across on the middle leaf spring? driving on 106 hwy new hampshire.

Electronic Stability Control problem #10

The vehicle was in motion on the highway and also turning. Yaw rate sensor malfunctioning. I took to the dealer and was quoted 800. 00 for sensor excluding labor. Im in m. S. . . I live in t. N. I was advised it wasnt safer on interstate travel. This vehicle is only 3 yrs old. At this point it is considered my safety. I think Nissan should stand behind there product.

Electronic Stability Control problem #11

While driving, felt a "shudder" . . Check engine light came on, gear shift indicator went off. Once the key was turned off, vehicle would not start. Towed home. Started checking fuses. Check fluids, realized transmission fluid was in radiator and radiator fluid was in transmission. Vehicle will no longer drive in drive, only in reverse. Known issue with Nissan.

Electronic Stability Control problem #12

Started it up. . . Hardly moved. Squeaking sound under the hood. Looks like the infamous radiator leak into the transmission. . . .

Electronic Stability Control problem #13

While driving at a speed of 60-65 on the highway my 2005 Nissan Frontier feels like the transmission slips out of gear and starts to grind. This occurs only under acceleration and I do not mean hard acceleration. I am simply at a cruising speed on the highway and trying to simply maintain a speed and the noise occurs daily. I am not positive that the noise is coming from the transmission because I am no mechanic, but the sound is a grinding sound which means it is a gear grinding somewhere. I took the vehicle to a Nissan dealer three times and all I was told is that the transmission is okay. I do not have a service engine light on so maybe that is the reason, but I was able to show the dealer the noise and still no help. All I wanted when I bought this truck is a reliable car and I do not have one. Nissan should be held responsible for putting out a subpar product. I know based on the online forums that I am not alone in these issues with the truck.

Electronic Stability Control problem #14

Clutch break band solenoid failed. Lost all power to my vehicle and would not start again. $1000 for the part $400 for the labor $100 for transmission fluid.
