Failure Date: 11/18/2019

The led in my gtr cluster are no longer working, they are defective and are not replaceable = not being able to see the cluster driving at night time can be very dangerous. Safety is everything, Nissan needs to understand the safety behind not being able to see the cluster while driving at night. The repair should be simple and repairable but in this case it is not.

The instrument gauge cluster on a 2009-2010 gtr has a common problem where the leds behind the fuel gauge end of burning out. Nissan is aware of the issue and offered a factory extended warranty from 3 years / 36k miles to 6 years / unlimited miles. Failure Date: 10/07/2015

The lights go out for the gauge cluster routinely go out rendering drivers unable to read the gauges at night including the fuel gauge and speedometer. I noticed it when I started my car while in a dark location and was unable to see my temperature gauge, fuel gauge, and gear indicated gauge along with part of my tachometer. Many other owners experienced this same problem and there does not seem to be a related to anything caused by the owner. Nissan's solution is to replace the cluster with the same cluster that still has the faulty design and the lights still go out.

8 Exterior Lighting problem of the 2011 Nissan GT-R

Failure Date: 04/09/2010

My wife and I purchased a 2011 Infiniti m56x from Infiniti of springfield, mo. On 4/9/10. My wife was following me to our lake home at 9pm. I noticed she kept falling behind. I waited for her at the intersection of mo265 & lake rd 12 and when I saw her coming I proceeded on to our residence. When she arrived she was visibly shaken and said she couldn't see where she was going and almost ran off the road. I told her I was going to take the car out myself and I had the same visibility problem on low beams involving up and down small hills and sharp turns. There are many of those around lakes. There is no vertical illumination of the low beams for terrain like that (hood covers part of the headlamp and it blacks out everything above the hooded line. No problem on flat or long hills. Next day 4/10 I called the service managerabout our problem. Given the publicized movement of the headlamps I thought they might need an adjustment. I told him our problem was easily replicatable. He told us to bring the car in and he would test drive it. We did on April 13 and he reported to us the same findings we had reported to him. He said driving with high beams on helps but on hilly, curvey roads that is dangerous if you don't have time to put them on low. He put me in contact with Infiniti customer service and I called them and they already had a case file on the car. They said the western region office would contact us by the end of biz on 4/14. Kim 866-799-1690, ext 1610 called and left a msg that they were researching the problem and would contact me 4/19. I met with the general sales manager of dealer and they said they would give us our money back if there wasn't a fix. When I didn't hear anything by 3pm 4/19 I called and left a message. They called at 4pm cdt 4/19 and said the headlamps were working as intended end of conversation. We are getting our money back but that doesn't help someone else that finds themselves in a blind situation.
