Saturday 12/26/20 driving south on fm-1314 around 5pm at 60mph, I heard like a gunshot followed by broken glass, I look everywhere around thinking someone shot at me or other cars behind me and noticed nothing. Seconds later I noticed glass on the passenger seat. My sunroof was completely open, so I tried to close it as soon I noticed the glass and is when I found out it was shattered. I went to a near heb to use the vacuum to clean the glass, before that I took pictures and you can see that the glass blow or exploded like something hit from inside creating like a dome. Since the sunroof was open no way a rock or debris hit the glass since is retracted inside the rood of the Juke. Thank god I just got startled and my reaction was quick and I didn't finished on the side of the road creating an accident. I open a claim with my insurance company minutes after that, not sure yet how much is to repaired it.

Tl- the contact owns a 2012 Nissan Juke. The contact stated that the sunroof shattered without an impact while driving. The contact called fred haas Nissan, 24202 tomball pkwy, tomball, TX 77375, and informed them of the failure. The dealer stated that they will not serviced the vehicle because it was not included in a recall and also will not honor the extended warranty for the repair. I went outside to start my car to warm it up, I live in michigan and this happened during winter so it was between 15-25 degrees that night. I closed the door after I got out of my stationary vehicle, and the sunroof shattered. I did not close it hard, I do not slam my car doors. There was no chips or cracks in the sunroof previous to it shattering. I read online about Nissan having a recall for their sunroofs in another vehicle, something about faulty glass temperment and/or they used a thinner glass to save money.

While driving on highway at 65 mph, the sunroof exploded. It sounded like a gun shot and glass flew everywhere inside and out of car. No road hazard or debris noted to cause any damage. No weather issues present. It was a clear day approximately 78 degrees f. The sunroof was closed at time of incident. It was extremely terrifying and caused confusion while travelling at highway speeds and trying to figure out what happened. This was a 4 lane highway with two lanes of traffic each way which could have been impacted would I have swerved or otherwise reacted to the sound or raining glass shards. Very dangerous situation.

Began noticing issues within first year of owning vehicle. Every occurrence would take it to dealership (grainger Nissan of savannah, GA) to get checked. By the time I got to the dealership, everything would be working fine. They did a computer diagnostic test on the electrical/navigation systems each time with no issues being found. I requested it to be documented each time in the event something happened after warranty ended. Unfortunately I do not have the dates/mileage but should be documented at the aforementioned dealership. So the dates/mileage stated is an estimation. The following is a more detailed explanation of what/how the components were affected. When I'm in an unknown area, I rely heavily on gps in my car, when it cuts out, I have no choice but pull over & wait it out, or hope to get cell service & use my phone's gps, not always an option. Each time it occurred is unexpected with no apparent reason. Every time is different, upon starting car, all electrical components are out/unusable. Happens when car is in motion at any speed. Navigation screen/radio goes black, controls unresponsive to all touch/pressure/turning/etc. I believe it is a possible loose wire connection or something similar, causing all electrical components being rendered unresponsive for various lengths of time. From moment of onset to the time it's operating normally varies from 30 min, up to 1-2 days. Components included are navigation/radio screen & all controls; all steering wheel controls; ac/radio knob controls; dash/instrument panel lights go out; driver side window/door controls become unresponsive. Dealership claimed they were unable to investigate further being the diagnostic tests failed to find any issues.

Windshield wipers stopped working abruptly took into mechanic and revealed dusplaced lever arm that is attached to motor and controls windshield wipers.
Windshield wiper malfunction: 1. Issue in intermittent mode: when turn windshield wiper switch to intermittent mode, no matter turn knob at what intermittent level, wiper runs continuously for 20 to 30 seconds, and then stop for about 10 sec, starts again for 20 secs and then stop 10sec, repeat like this at any intermittent level, 2. Issue in low/high continuous mode: when turn windshield wiper switch to either slow / high continuous mode, wipers runs continuously for about 20 to 30 seconds, and then stops for about 10 sec and repeat like this. #2 issue has been quite dangerous about 2 weeks ago under heavy rain, could barely see when wiper stops to function intermittently.
Windshield wipers will turn on by themselves, run high speed for approx. 30 seconds, stop (with wipers in active position - often blocking vision) pause for approx. 10-60 seconds and restart. This has been non-stop for the last 2 days. I cannot control the speed or turn them on/off. I've read others with the same make/model/year have had the same malfunction. This is a dangerous issue.

Called Nissan America this morning and was told there is no recall nor service bulletin on this problem yet, . Bought the car about 2 and half years ago from Nissan dealer.
This has nothing to do with the wipers - all visibility - purchased car new 10/22/2011 - but it was around 10/28/2011 that I noticed scratches in windshield and driver side window - yes it is bad enough that when the sun hits the areas in the right spot it is blinding. Dealership has continually given me the run around. Please if your see my VIN was involved in an accident - head on - driver side impact - please make sure the windshield and driver side window are looked at thoroughly. I have sent this request to my father as well. You will also be receiving a copy of the letter that is being to sent to Nissan corp office and NJ better business bureau. Vehicle was purchased this way, scratches where not noticeable at time of pick up, and at this time since my iou or we owe you shows that there is nothing mentioned about this - reported issue to dealer back 11/11 - had service manager and sales person look at issues and as of today still chasing me tail. This was also mentioned at first oil change, oil change, recall, tire rotation visit, took car to dealer today to speak with new general manager so today would make 6th time I have asked to come sort of resolution - I was told to report to my insurance - and they would split my deductible with me to repair - replace. Really - safelite has already looked at - and had written letter an estimate - no one even took the time to look at. Sad . . . But hey again if you see my VIN involved in a head on or driver side impacted accident - please make sure windshield and driver side window are thoroughly looked at. Thank you for your help and time !.
