The contact stated that while his daughter was driving 50-55 mph and merging to the right lane, the vehicle continued pulling to the right, unintendedly even though the driver had straightened the steering wheel to drive straight. The contact stated that the passenger's side of the vehicle crashed into a guardrail, and the vehicle stopped. It was unknown whether the brakes were inoperable at the time of the incident. It was unknown whether a warning light was illuminated before of after the crash. The passenger's side roof rail air bags deployed. The contact stated that the axle and the front passenger's side tire were bent. No police report was filed. There was no injury sustained. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The vehicle was then towed to an auto body repair shop. The insurance company declared the vehicle a total loss. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the failure would be investigated. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.
