Other Fuel System Problems of Nissan Kicks

The p0101 code has been going on and off of this car since purchase (3 years) the maf sensor has been replaced twice and the check engine light comes back on after just a few days each time. This poses a safety risk because the car stops at stop lights and turns off, the car shakes at idle, the car refuses to accelerate risking pulling out in front of another car without being able to accelerate. The check engine light comes on and off and the traction control light as well, its so random and the only fix is to "change the sensor" which does not fix it because it happens again immediately after. Its dangerous and needs an actual fix.

The dash board lights up and the check engine light comes. It’s hard to accelerate or reverse and its idles high. I have replaced coils, spark plugs, censors and it’s costs me thousands of dollars and it’s still not fixed.

The fuel filler door does not lock as advertised and stated in the owner's manual pg 206 2025 Nissan Kicks. This invites potential to do harm to the vehicle which could lead to a safety concern. ( the fuel filler door is suppose to lock when the car doors are locked) and unlock when the car doors are unlocked. As it stands, the fuel filler door remains unlocked all the time.

P0101 code keep coming back after so many repairs plus all lights are on like lane assist front collision prevention rear collision detection and slippery road it will reset after turning off and on.

Code p0101 comes up which indicates an issue with the car’s maf system triggering a check engine light. This is widely known to be a software issue and is chronic in many Nissan kick’s manufactured around 2018-2020. This is a faulty error code and ends up visiting consumers hundreds of dollars to repair and almost always returns despite actions being taken to repair the issue.

I keep getting the p0101 code for the maf sensor and I’ve replaced it 2 times with oem ones and I still get that code later on. I’ve cleaned the throttle body and replaced the air filter with an oem one and that light with also the “wet road” and “forward collision” light keep popping up. Stalling has also occurred multiple times while in park or at a stop light and rough idle when ever not in movement.

I was coming off the highway as soon as I got to stop my car shut off. I had to restart my car again. This is about the fifth time it did it. I have sent it to the dealership and they cannot find nothing wrong with it.

The emergency collision light came on my vehicle, then traction light, car stalled and wouldn't accelerate. This issue put me at risk to be rear ended at 55 mph. Took it to the dealer and was diagnosed as the mass air flow sensor. I've read about 100 articles of other owners experiencing this repetitively.

The fuel gage or dte(distance to empty) started to malfunction after the last time the tank was filled up. It did not correct itself and now I can't get an appointment with the service department to have it look at.

Pc solenoid b car reduces power & hesitates while driving.

The vehicle constantly shuts off when idle or at times when in motion. The automatic emergency braking (aeb) system warning light turns on as well as the slip indicator. When it finally turns back on after placing it in park and stepping on the brake, the engine barely accelerates. The rpms drop and then surges to compensate about every 30 seconds. The vehicle has been taken to the dealer on several occasions and Nissan has yet to figure out what the issue is.

Recently had brake sytem replaced and it was done incorrectly. Almost had a wreck and issue has drained my battery and cauing issues to alternator too. Constantly having issues with heat and now my ac. Have to constantly pay diagnostic charges. Request drive belt be replaced.

Car often sputters then shows front collision warning light then stalls. Mass airflow sensor has been changed and problem persists. Radio volume changes on its own. Software is up-to-date.

Car stalls at red lights and the engine turns off with no warning. After, car turns back on and has rough idle and flashes all lights on the dashboard. Went to Nissan dealership and it’s an issue with the mass airflow sensor and throttle body. Coincidentally, the issues arise after the warranty period. Expensive fix and safety issues for city driving.

Brand new 2022 Nissan Kicks s, I was driving home from picking it up at the dealership with only 14 miles on the odometer when I was stopped at a red light and the car shuddered and stalled. The battery and oil dash lights came on. I had to place the car into park, turn it off, and turn it back on to get it moving again. Once restarted, the dash lights went away and the car ran fine. There were no indications prior to the event that anything was wrong or that this would happen. This was incredibly frightening as I was worried traffic behind me would rear end me, even with the hazards on. I am taking it in to be inspected by the dealership this weekend.

Car will shut off on its own when sitting at a red light will get a message showing the word malfunction, will restart after several attempts of pressing the start button. Has been taken to the dealer and reported and documented on my service receipt but they could not duplicate the problem and stated car was at specs. This has now happened 4 times in the last 2 weeks.

I bought the car on memorial day and left the dealership with a full tank. That Friday, June 4, 2021, I drive my car to nyc for a meeting. My gas tank was very low when I arrived and I only had 1 mile until empty. I went to the gas station and the fuel door would not open. There is no manual release for the fuel door. I had no tools in the car and was stuck at the gas station. I waited for Nissan emergency from 10:42 to 3pm. They were able to get it open and I filled the tank and immediately drove back to MD. On 6/6 I brought it back to the dealer and was told it was a manufacturer error.

Entering highway or traffic car hesitates no power . Seems like the engine isnt providing enough gas for take off, this is with the pedal accelerator completely pressed down. This has happened several times. Scary when your entereing traffic. Had back to dealer once and said all was fine. It happens almost every time I drive it but not all the time mainly when you come to an almost stop and try to go. I looked on line for bullitins and came across classification at19-002d reference ntb19-040d.

I was driving on the road, and my car was sitting at a red light, the car just stops and will not move. I almost caused a very bad accident as there was cars behind me. I turned it off and turned it back on and then it all of sudden worked again. This is a dangerous situation and I thought I was gonna be in a accident.

The car currently has 5700 miles on the odometer. Ever since I bought it in June of 2020, intermittently the car will idle rough at stop lights. When it happens it is usually after driving on the highway for 20 or 30 minutes. On October 17, 2020 after about an hour on the highway the car idled rough at the first stop light I encountered then died. I restarted it then it promptly died again. After the second restart there were no other problems. Took the car into the dealer on Monday 10/19/20. They kept it for 3 days and never could duplicate the problem. They did reprogram the engine control module that was under recall. Hoping maybe this resolves the problem.

Stopped in parking lot to back in parking space and car just shut off. Was able to restart and proceed with backing in spot. At another time I was sitting at traffic light and rpm's started to move below 1 and then shut off. Another time was when I stopped to let a passenger out of car and car just shutodf.

The car stalled while driving causing a safety concern. The engine was still running, however, the car would not move. After shutting it down and restarting the car a secomd time, the car started moving again.

Car stalls when pulling into city traffic from an intersection. Appears as if engine won't take fuel when I have accelerator depressed. Happened several times and dealer says nothing shows up on cars computer as a problem.

I purchased a 2020 Nissan Kicks with 11 miles on 1/1/20. The car began shaking and stalling when stopped in traffic, and at lights on 1/10/20, with 250 miles on the odometer. After 3 service appointments, taking pictures and using the event recorder as instructed, I was informed on 3/5/20, there is currently no fix for this Kicks, engineers are aware of the problem, and they will contact me when an update is available that may resolve the problem. ,this vehicle has stalled out 19 times as of 3/9/20, with 2039 miles on the odometer. The Nissan dealership where I purchased and serviced the vehicle could not repair and would not replace the vehicle, after 3 visits totaling 9 days in the shop within the first 60 days of purchase, I have been directed to follow up with Nissan consumer affairs with my concerns. Nissan will be sending an engineer to further inspect the vehicle within the next 2 weeks. Concern: the vehicle shakes/shudders and/or shuts down while driving in stop and go traffic, stopping at traffic lights and signs, and also when stopping to park. During these events the vehicle is in drive, with brake pedal depressed. No warning lights appear on the dash display except the battery and oil light after the engine has stalled. Each event has been resolved by placing vehicle in drive and restarting the engine. The events are inconsistent/unpredictable, having occurred twice in the same mile, or up to 358 miles between events; also having occurred 0-4 times every 0-10 days.
