Air Bag Not Deploy problems of the 2002 Nissan Maxima

Takata recall our 17 yr old daughter was in a accident on the interstate, her car rolled multiple times. . . . The air bag never deployed-her neck (c7) was fractured. If the air bag would have deployed maybe her neck wouldn't have fractured.

Air bag recall was fixed as soon as we were notified (a few months ago). My son had a bad accident today and neither he nor the first responders can understand why the air bags did not deploy. Were they fixed correctly? were they just turned off? how can we go about getting answers before the car is taken off to the junk yard? it was my car that I gave to him so I writing this as he is no shape right now.

While parking car it spontaniously accelerated across the parking lot, the bordering street and into another parking lot before stopping. The cars left side, right side, front bumper, tires and suspension were damaged. Though no other cars were hit, commerical garbage cans, stop sign, telephone pole and a series 4 curbs inflicted damage. The air bags did not deploy despite having them checked by the dealer as required by a recall.

The contact owns a 2002 Nissan Maxima. The contact stated that while driving 35 mph, the contact crashed into the rear of another vehicle. Upon impact, the air bags failed to deploy. The contact and the passenger suffered injuries to the neck and back. The vehicle was destroyed. A police report was not filed. The manufacturer was not contacted. The contact also mentioned that a recall notice was received after the failure for NHTSA campaign I. D. Number 13v136000 (air bags). The failure mileage was 141,000.

Vehicle was moving about 25 to 30 mph when it was hit in the front and the air bags failed to deploy. Provide further details.

At a 75mph vehicle crashed, and airbags did not deploy. Cause unknown. Dealer not contacted.
