When I first purchased this car I had immediate problems with the power steering fluid. The check engine light has remained on the entire time. But the car was hemorrhaging fluid, groaning, whining, and my steering was becoming extremely loose. I call the dealer that sold me the car, because I dropped 4 grand on what seemed like a nice vehicle with under 100k on it. Well, I bought the car right off the lot and they refused to repair it. Cool, I respect that. If the inspection reports and other papers are clearly falsified. It couldn't have passed inspection under normal situations. But since the dealer owns their own shop, they could slap stickers on busted vehicles and send them off to be sold. Eventually they do me " a favor" by replacing the power steering actuator/pump hoses & did work on towards a dtc code p0550. They give me that favor by charging me only for the parts, no labor. Totally cool, if work was done. It still has the same electrical tape in areas that was "fixed". They clear my codes and off I go. Engine light cuts on again and I'm having the same issues. My power steering fluid looks like it's boiling or bubbling as well. Still getting the p0550 code as my main dtc. Except now, I'm having major problems and my car has been sitting for a month. Not sure if the leaky fluid corroded components from before. As of now I'm throwing dtcs for p0171, p0305, p0550 (twice), believe I have a vacuum leak, my exhaust system is damaged internally from the misfire codes and has also broken apart near the rear muffler, among other pending codes. Lastly, I was coming home from work and my car completely loses power and bogs waaaay down. Engine light is flashing and I have no control or power. I limp home, park the car, and haven't drove it since other than for test drives. After countless repairs for the same issues, among new repairs and issues I'm broke. Issues started on 3/24 through 12/21 not had this car for a year and it's been a constant pain ever since.
Tl-the contact owns a 2002 Nissan mazama. The contact stated that the vehicle would not start and an independent mechanic stated that the problem was the cam shaft position sensor and the variable timing sensor. Both parts are connected to the circuit board. He took the vehicle to headquarter Nissan 1725 whittlesey rd, columbus, GA 31904 but they stated that the only recall shown was for nthsa campaign number: 15v-287000 (passenger air bag inflator) and no repairs were performed. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 88,000. Tf.
The car experiences significantly reduced engine power, u nable to rev above 2500 without it feeling limited. The engine suddenly stops running without warning during vehicle operation making it difficult to steer or brake to get to a safe location. This has occurred 3 times this past week and I have stopped driving the vehicle. I'm now wondering if the dealer actually performed the recall (NHTSA campaign #03v455000) back in 2003!!! they need to recall this again.
The contact owns a 2002 Nissan Maxima. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60 mph, there was loss of engine power with warning. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who stated that the engine wiring harness would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 140,000.
Driving at highways of greater than 40 mph and beginning to break, the vehicle will cut off. It will restart; however, this has started to be a frequent and dangerous occurrence. After several times, I did some research and found that there was a voluntary recall campaign bulletin r3022 and NHTSA #03v-455 (engine sensors), being reported on Nov. 17, 2003. Nissan north America, inc. Says that the recall campaign has been closed out. Nhtsa says the recall campaign is open for 10 yrs from the date the recall was reported, being Nov. 17, 2013. Today's date is Aug. 23, 2013. Nissan will not honor the recall. The cost to repair is $625. 19. Additionally, there was a voluntary recall campaign bulletin r2006 (transverse link replacement) which Nissan north America, inc. Claims they cannot see. Lastly, there is another recall r1302 (front passenger air bag inflator) of August 14, 2013, that Nissan claims they aren't showing as well. I am utterly frustrated and fed up with Nissan north America, inc. The dealers will not honor any recall that Nissan north America, inc. Does not recognize even if you have the documentation of the recall.
The side mounted engine in Nissans (all models using this mounting method) seems to create a systemic problem with engine mount failure which seems to occur after the vehicle has been in use for some extended period of time. When I was checking on the repair of a young friend's Nissan, another driver came in with a Nissan that seemed to have the same problem. My young friend bought the car used so I don't know if there was ever a recall. Repairs (parts and labor) are about $500.
There was a voluntary recall (recall id # 03v455000) for my 2002 Nissan Maxima. The repair was performed in the spring of 2004. The recall specifies that they will replace both the "crankshaft position sensor and the camshaft position sensor(s), and in some cases the variable timing control sensor(s)". They only replaced the crankshaft sensor per their service order and they refuse to replace the camshaft sensor(s).
Engine broke down on a 2002 niacin maxim & could not steer car correctly. It could not go without weaving back & forth, even though there is only 15,000. Miles on car & it is regularly serviced & maintained greatly (e. G. Kept in garage, never left unlock, etc. )there could have been serious consequences & involved a $900. Repair bill, for which niacin did nothing to compensate for or apologize for. If I had not had aaa tow it to the dealer, there would have surely been a terrible accident. Fortunately, this occurred at night & I had I only 3 blocks to get it home when there weren't any cars the road.
The dealership did not have the parts to perform the crank position sensor weld recall 03v455000 for almost 3 months.
Faulty engine crank sensors. The sensor had been replaced three times. The third incident nearly resulted in an accident. The consumer requested that his vehicle be replaced with a new one. Recall#03v455000.
