Unknown Or Other problem #1

This vehicle has been maintained well over the years. It is absolutely incredible on how many people share the same problems that I have and that Nissan has not done nothing about it. My car started shifting really hard from 2nd to 3rd gear, it also gets stuck on 5th gear once the transmission is heated up. I know that it is the transmission that is defective or else there would not be so many videos on the internet about how to repair the solenoids that are inside the valve body. The car is in horrible driving condition and I even drive around with my hazards on because of the violent downshifts shake up the car and myself.

Unknown Or Other problem #2

My car was bought at a Nissan dealership in 2011 of December, in January I noticed the car jerking and shifting while driving 20 to 30 miles. So I took the car back at the dealership and they said that they will only give me another car only if the problem is in the transmission, they told me that the problem is my motor mount is broken, and they don't cover anything outside the transmission or engine only the inside. . The total amount to fix was 500 but I had no money to do it. They gave me an option of taking an extended warranty which it was expensive for me so I shopped for a warranty and I got a full bumper to bumper for a cheaper price than what they gave me. It took me 3months to go back to the dealer with a new warranty they fixed the motor mount but the issue is still their. A Nissan technician took it for a test drive they suggested that I need a new transmission and there's no way I'm willing to give them my car again to fix because it took them along time to realize the problem telling me to fix your car we need to get it out of idle and emission needs to be checked that's what they were saying before they realize its a transmission. . I love Nissan Maxima but in order to keep a customer like me to stay loyal please fix the issue and do the right thing by recalling the vehicles.

Unknown Or Other problem #3

I was driving my 2006 Nissan Maxima home on the interstate in 5-o-clock traffic and the transmission gave out. I was in the left lane and was luckily able to get into the right lane without hitting another car or causing a serious accident. I then rolled to the nearest exit and was able to break to a stop, but of course with the transmission gone I couldn't even roll the car home. I had the car towed. This wasn't too much of a surprise as I had spoken with a transmission repair shop just a few months prior and was told that I needed a new valve body, the one on this particular car is commonly seen and replaced all the time. At that time he quoted me $1800 for the part/labor, which I didn't have so I agreed to come back when I received more financial aid for the spring semester. When I contacted the shop this time around they told me that it sounds like I'd unfortunately need a new transmission altogether. A used one only has a 90 day warranty and he quoted me around $2700-$3000. The valve body could be the same defective one as before, and being used, I could easily wind up in the same boat 90 days later. He said he'd call back to give me a quote on a rebuilt transmission, but that it would cost more and come with a longer warranty, possibly 2 years. I have contacted Nissan about the problem and they have not responded. Apparently since I didn't die yet or cause anyone else to die it's ok.

Unknown Or Other problem #4

Transmission is jumping out of gear. Transmission is slipping and making a hard jerk between 20-40 mph.

Unknown Or Other problem #5

6/10/2011 the transmission on my 2006 Nissan Maxima failed without warning which prevented the car from accelerating. This was while on the turnpike in PA with traffic merging and moving at speeds of up to 75mph. Luckily I was able to cost to the side of the road without getting into an accident or causing an accident. Upon further reseach I see transmission issues are very common for this make and model car through the production years of 04-07. This is very dangerous and I can see it leading up to and including death due to an accident. The dealer I purchased the car from replaced the transmission under warranty, but I am again having issues with my tranmissions showing signs of failure again. To date, my car has been in the shop for a total of 32 days for the same transmissions issue.

Unknown Or Other problem #6

I bought this car two months ago and have been happy with it until now. When I have to back the car up in reverse and then switch into drive it kicks very hard. It started earlier this week and has been doing it ever since. The first time, it kicked so hard that I thought I had hit something, and my passengers were thrown forward so hard that the seat belts took their breath out of them. Later that same day I had trouble getting the car to start when I put the key in the ignition nothing happened for several minutes. When I tried again it started up, but kicked again when I switched from reverse to drive.

Unknown Or Other problem #7

I took the car into a Nissan dealer for a abs issue I have where abs,tcs and slip light is coming on and maken a horrible noise . They told me the actuator and rear hub needed repair for a total of 2270. 00 plus tax. This is a major issue and in my opinion as a mechanic should be a national recall, for all the people haven this issue is the united states and canada.

Unknown Or Other problem #8

I bought a 2006 Nissan Maxima milage 68000. After driving it for few months (milage around 97000) the transmission went bad, and started skipping and hard shifting while changing gear from 2nd to 3rd there is hard shifting (jerking) and while shifting from 3rd to 4th gear it skips and the rpm increase while the car does not accelerates at that time. When I googled this issue I found that alot of Nissan Maxima owners have this issue. I think Nissan has a faulty transmission built into these cars. Nissan needs to come up with a solution to fix this issue, a recall hopefully !. Thanks.

Unknown Or Other problem #9

The abs system, specifically the actuator, in the 2006 Nissan Maxima failed. Initially, the abs system would activate every time the brakes are applied. It first occurred on dry pavement at highway speed (55mph) braking and then all subsequent braking thereafter, regardless of speed or road condition. Now the car is in fail-safe model where the abs system, traction control system, and electronic brake force distribution are inactive on the vehicle. Nissan dealers estimate the fix to be approximately $3000, with the majority of the repair in replacing the abs actuator. The vehicle has never been flooded and has only been in very minor fender-benders (repainting of exterior parts). From my prospective, it seems very unusual for the actuator to go bad and appears to be a defective unit.

Unknown Or Other problem #10

I bought the car brand new and have maintained this vehicle with 3k mile oil changes and replaced the tires. It has started to make jerk when shifting from 1-2 gear or 2-3 and recently the engines revs up to 4rpms but does not go any faster. Unfortunately my car is out of warranty but from looking around other blogs and forums it looks as this is quite a common problem. The engine is making a noise as if it is running on turbo. I don't understand why there is not a recall there is so many issues with this car its ridiculous. This is the first brand new car I have purchased and I cannot believe how many issues it has.

Unknown Or Other problem #11

Vehicle started showing warning lights and responding sporadically, working smoothly then failing in various manners including: failing to accelerate after stopped at traffic light, lost power when exiting highway, lurched while driving on interstate, lights failed then turned back on, flashing failure lights, loss of fuel errors, others. Investigation revealed that a faulty design in the car computer housing and location made it possible for dimes to fall from the dash into an opening, which appeared to be a test port, in the computer causing shorts resulting in the sporadic behavior and ultimate complete failure of the unit. The mechanic was able to find technical publications that documented this known defect and the associated dangerous implications.

Unknown Or Other problem #12

After 65000 miles transmission started to show problems. Mostly from 1 to 2 gear it jumps like a mule. Almost undriveable. I have spoken to the dealer but guarranty is not longer active so most spend 3500 dollars. I would never buy Nissan again.

Unknown Or Other problem #13

The drivers side seat recently started to rocking toward the drivers side door which alerted me to having a problem. This happens every time I get into the car the seat is leaning to the left door. I contacted the dealer in which I purchased the car, they said it is nothing they can do because the warranty is up. I should contact the manufacture Nissan which I have also done .

Unknown Or Other problem #14

The paint or coating on the paint gets scratched without any extra ordinary usage. I believe it even happens from rain. The car is only 4 months old has scratches al over it.
