Blow out of sidewall of tire (Nissan Maxima 2006) eagle rsa p245 r45 18 the second time this has happened. The first time was fall of 2008 the tires only had approx. 28,000 miles so I only replaced two of them. Then it happened again this morning. On one of the two I did not replace approx. 42,000 miles.
My goodyear rsa tire flew apart while traveling 70 mph on the interstate. The tire was properly inflated. The sidewall caved in. The tire didn't have any visual defects prior to the blowout. Truly concerned with the other tires, simply vanishing from beneath the car without warning. I would have caused an accident if the traffic on the interstate was congested.
Internal side wall of the right rear tire split off the rest of the tire.
2006 eagle tires have cracking on the sidewalls. There is already a customer satisfaction recall for 2004 Nissan Maxima's. I have a 2006 with the same tires (newer) but same identical problem. Goodyear dealer did not want to replace tires as they say 2006 is not part of customer satisfaction. 3 out of 4 tires were splitting on sidewalls. Please take note that consumers are still having the problem with newer models. Although they put new tires on my vehicle, I do not feel safe with them on.
