1 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/24/2022

I'm not sure what happened but all I know is my turns over but will not start. It has new battery, new alternator, both camshaft position sensors replaced. It has been at the mechanic shop for 2 weeks and they can't figure out the program. I have heard that the security system may have locked up on it preventing it from cranking but I am not sure but all I know is I don't have the money to get it towed or fixed now cuz I have already had to pay to get it towed and the shop. Please help me.

2 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2018

The problem on the transmission the car won't accelerate beyond 40mph throw the rpm can't go high all the way.

3 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2017

The floor boards on m/v are rotting. It is a known issue, Nissan has been aware and never told the buying public. Please force a recall to fix issue. My Nissan only has 54k for mileage and has been well taken care of. Discovered the issue as a result of having struts and break work done to the car.

4 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/05/2016

The horn on this vechicle does not blow. Nissan serviceman told me this was common on this vehicle, and if I didn't repair it , there might be airbag issues. I call Nissan and filed a claim # 22887303 on 7-5-2016. Was told not to move vehicle from Nissan repair dealer. On 7-6-2016 was told by Nissan they could not help with this hazard problem.

5 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/12/2015

I am not sure if the problem really exist. The resulting diagnosis is based on a faint whine detected by the technician (while stationary) and a definite determination can only be made by a physical examination of the timing guide. To do this would require removing parts. But when those parts are removed the guide and chain will need replacing even if they are not defective. Nissan has known about the problem dating back to the 2004 model and no definitive diagnostic method is available that will not cost the owner a repair that is some times unnecessary.

6 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/05/2015

Driver side airbags deployed after driver side door was shut while parked in driveway. Terrible shaking when going 60mph and especially bad when brakes are applied, which then cause a hard jerk or pull to the right. Wheels were all four bent at the time I purchased the car, but dealer never fixed one thing I listed and he agreed to fix or attempted to fix before the sale. Car was repossessed months later and resold at private auction. The new owners need to be aware of the airbags that are missing. This car obviously was in an accident and does not show up on any vehicle history report but I am unable to prove it. The value of the car at the time of purchase was $4,000. The normal was $6,500 at that time. If I had kept the pos, I'd pay over $21,000 with interest and other fees included. This is fraud. I strongly feel like we're dealing with fraud in this situation, but unfortunately I cannot prove it by myself and no one will help me prove it.

7 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/10/2015

Nothing but problems with 07 Maxima we bought, later repossessed. The steering wheel and the whole front of the car would shake uncontrollably especially when brakes were used. Also wheels (not factory but they were on there when purchased, but asked to replace but never happened) were noticeably bent. And lastly, the front and side airbags deployed after shutting my drivers side door causing my arm to be burned.

8 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2015

Floor pans under both the drivers and front passenger seat are completely rusted out.

9 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/30/2015

Timing chain needed to be replaced. Understand from internet search that there have been many complaints about the Nissan timing chains and their defective design and nature. According to dealer, no recall or service bulletins issued about this defect.

10 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/12/2015

I took my car in to my mechanic at city auto repair to balance my tires and my mechanic found that underneath my car on my driver's side is rusting out and has a hole in it. There is apparently water coming in the car from somewhere and rusting out the floor pan on the driver's side of the car. I googled this problem and there are many complaints about this problem with Maxima's and altima's. Nissan just did a recall for this exact problem, but only recalled SUV's. It's a fire hazard because the electrical harness can short out and cause a fire. I would ask that any and all Nissan cars (not just SUV's) be recalled for this problem. I also contacted Nissan about this problem and they refused to take responsibility for this problem and refused to pay for repair of the problem.

11 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/09/2014

I was driving my car on an average day. As I made a right turn, ahead of oncoming traffic, I tried to accelerate and my car would not accelerate above 20-30mph. With traffic swiftly approaching at speeds near 40-50mph, luckily, I was able to pull into a nearby gas station. None of my check engine/warning lights were on. I turned the car off and started it back up but the issue remained. When I tried to accelerate the car wouldnt o over 30mph and was making a heaving vibration noise every time I stopped. I was able to get the car to a Nissan dealership who ultimately recommended the repairs outlined in the service bulletin. My warranty company denied the claim "citing water damage", but the bulletin lists the pfp (primary failed part) as the "housing assy- rear axle,rh" (which should have been covered). I bought the vehicle used (from a Nissan dealer) and becasue the manufacturers warranty had expired I was forced to pay for the repairs ($1,000+) on a vehicle that I barley had for 1 year. I contacted Nissan consumer affairs (as recomended by the dealership) to try and get some type of assistance with this issue. They basically told me its not their problem since the Nissan warranty had expired on the vehicle. Nissan is very well aware of this defect that is a severe safety concern due to the obvious design. I luckily had time and space to move my vehicle safely off the road; the next person may not be as lucky. Nissan should and needs to be held responsible for the overall safety of their all vehicles and this ongoing defect. A recall should be mandated to correct this potential hazard while driving. A life is far more valuable than recall expenses. . Read more...

12 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/11/2014

While vehicle was in shop I was alerted to the fact both front boards were rusted through to the ground.

13 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/20/2013

The car makes a knocking sound when the engine is running. I took the car to the dealer and they stated it was the timing chain and tensioner. The cost for repair is 2500. This is the first time I have ever heard of a timing chain going bad with a car with this mileage. I am very upset looked the problem up on the internet and noticed alot of people are having a problem with this on their cars. I feel Nissan should replace this at their cost.

14 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/14/2011

We bought a new 2007 Maxima in 5/07. At 26,425 miles (almost 2 years old), the front rotors needed replaced because they were warped and thin. Now, another 25,804 miles (and almost 2 years after the first replacement) the same problem has occured. They tried to blame it on hard braking and/or driving steep hills regularly; which is not accurate. Rotors should not fail with low miles. We have a 20 year old car that we replaced the rotors once. I searched the web for simular complaints and found allworldauto. Com. On their web site, there were numerous complaints about the Maxima rotors. I believe that this problem is under reported by consumers and the company. The company should not be getting away with this.
