I recently had my father pass away and my mom gave me his car , the air conditioning stopped working then the serpentine belt broke so I had a mobile mechanic come out and replace serpentine belt and tensioner. Then the power steering wheel fell off on freeway luckily no one was hurt I had to have the power steering pump replaced and another new serpentine belt installed. Then I went to get tires and an alignment done on the vehicle because it was driving kinda weird to be informed that the struts need replaced when I know my father had the struts replaced less then a year ago . Now today I was driving came to a red light and lost all power I could not even use hazard lights because I had no power. I was stuck there. I had to get towed home and purchased a new battery then called a mobile mechanic and was informed I have an ecm failure. With that being said car is unsafe to drive OH and serpentine belt broke again.
Not sure what is going I have spent so much money replacing parts on this car. And it is still not fixed. It’s one thing after another . I cannot fight out why the engine light is on its like the whole care is malfunctioning. And no one knows what it is. And heavy smoke from tail pipe. While driving it feels like it wants to stall like the gas gets stuck . I was told to buy a control module but it didn’t need that . And I can’t afford to keep trying to fix it. It’s my only car and I’m a non working single mom trying my best to fix it. But this car is causing so much depression I don’t know what else to do. Because it’s costing too much and times is already hard.
The battery ran out, I sent it to a mechanic, a fault arrives and now the transmission fails, it does not accelerate when it does so, it gives me a code p0746 I do not know what to do see how they can help me thanks.
Passenger side air bag sensors keeps on resetting as no one is sitting on the seat. I have to tell the passenger to jump on the seat for the "air bag off" light to reset. The cvt transmission putter at low speed with a with lots of noise, I have to give it more gas for the noise to stop. The passenger front door lock and driver side rear door lock does not unlock. Fog light on the car is not working, I was told my a mechanic that the relay switch that is built into the steering column is no good and will need to be replaced.
Electrical and ac failure, spent a lot of money and couldn't really afford to spend bc I was trying to get my ac repaired and no ine can figure out what the problem is. The warm weather is approaching and I cannot have my self and my child sweating bullets again this year. Purchased a new ac compressor, new ac condenser and had the ac charged still not fix to it. Have several people check for leaks ect and ac compressor doesn't even kick in at all and no one knows why.
2015 Hyundai genesis sedan. Radio, navigation, xm, tcd/dvd won't play. Screen comes in and out constantly. Battery drains. On my 2nd battery. Been back and forth to service. 50,000 miles. Hyundai now includes warranty for 2016 models because of these problems???.
The car, while driving, reverts back to idle rpm and pressing the gas pedal does not propel the car. This happened after being repaired by Nissan. On another occasion it completely lost power while driving.
The steering wheel lock locks and doesn't allow you to start your vehicle. This is very dangerous as I live in minnesota and had the sterrring lock trigger which left me stranded in fridged temperatures. This is a safety issue as it happen with out notice and could cause harm or death by not being able to start your vehicle. This happens when the car is placed in park and the ignition is disengaged.
Stopped at conveniance store and shut car off. Tried to restart car and it won't start. Had it towed to the dealer ship where I bought it. Found that it was the steering lock that had failed. Cost to replace was 1300 dollars. Found out this is a high failure part and should have been recalled.
The contact owns a 2009 Nissan Maxima. The contact stated that there was a progressing failure in which the key was unable to turn over to start the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for further inspection and diagnosis to determine the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.
The electronic steering column lock went out and I was unable to start my car. I had to have the car towed to the dealership for which I had to pay $1,100 to get a problem fixed I never even heard of. There was an extended warranty on this part that "expired" a year and a half ago. Nissan never recalled this part that is clearly a problem.
My 2009 Nissan Maxima is no longer starting and the brake and steering wheel have locked. It does not recognize that I have a key even though I do. Any attempt to start the vehicle results in a sporadic tick tick or screeching type noise for lack of a better word.
Escl part is defective. Makes car completely inoperable. Manufacturer knows original part is defective but no recall. Extended warranty has expired and now part cost has doubled. Part was $380 but now is $680 with a slightly different part number. Cost doubled after warranty expired!.
Steering lock box repair. Extended warranty was issued & needs to be extended indefinitely. This is a manufacturer defect. Consumers will experience this inconvenience at different lifecycles of the vehicle & should be given the same reimbursements/courtesy as other 2009 Nissan Maxima or altima owners.
Electronic steering column lock. 41. 4 k miles on car. Parked car, went to start, key light went on and the car was immobilized. Towed to dealership, filed a report with Nissan. Warranty extension specific to this issue no longer available by 6 months. $1,071 repair denied by Nissan because it was out of warranty. Could have been major safety issue if I was stuck in a remote location.
The steering wheel lock unit failed making the car not start leaving my wife stranded at a convenience store on a cold night. Nissan knows this is a widespread problem but is still letting its customers foot the $1000 bill for their poor design. It is a safety problem when it leaves my wife stranded!.
Luckily in the driveway after loading car for food bank delivery, I tried to start but no light asking to press foot on brake to start came on was my first clue something was wrong. Key locks/unlocks/open trunk/alarm works but will not start engine. "key warning light" comes on. Tried both keys but nothing. Disconnected/reconnected battery without success. Steering wheel is unlocked. Insert fob to try & start manually but nothing. My neighbor is a local mechanic & came over to help. Stumped him so I guess I will be calling to get a tow to dealership in the morning after unloading food bank donations! after reading several hundred complaints about this issue in just a matter of few minutes, I am sure there are hundreds of thousand Nissan unsatisfied customers who have had to deal with this. Step up Nissan & do the right thing. I do not have $1000 to fix this problem. We also have an altima so wondering when that will go too. No more Nissans for us!.
I was never notified that my 2009 Nissan Maxima has a malfunction called steering wheel lock failure. My car was on a city street when it would not start, it would not recognize my keys fob, and I was not able to start the car with the push to start button. Nothing happened. Nothing on the dashboard would show. I had my car towed to the Nissan dealership and this malfunction is costing me a lot of money. I did some research and this malfunction is something that a lot of people have complained about and I don't understand why this is not something that would be a recall. If this was a recall, then I never received a recall letter because I would have got this fixed a lot sooner before it happened to me.
When trying to start the car, it fails to start. Steering has failed, not allowing the car to start. This issue has appeared twice on my car in 7 days. Thanks to youtube. Com I have been able to limp my way. I took the car to my local Nissan dealer, and the diagnosis was determined that steering lock has failed. They told me that that with parts and labor it would be $1,500. I researched this issue online and found pages and pages of online forums with people complaining about this issue. I called 1-800-Nissan they reviewed the case and offered me nothing in return. Nissan knows this is an issue; it should be a recall; however, they are doing nothing to rectify the problem. Nissan please fix this problem.
I was driving along a highway at 50 mph. When the steering wheel suddenly fell to my knees. This car has a retractable steering system. I was able to steer the car safely to the side of the road. I did not drive the car. The steering wheel was then able to be pushed back into the driving position. I brought the car to the dealership today, and they told me that the two electric motors in the steering column were defective (had to be replace) the cost woulkd be $2,000. The car has just 60,000 miles.
The steering column is lock and the car won't start using the intelligent key system. This was a problem with many car owners and Nissan issued an extended warranty which allowed for owners to have their car repaired if this issue happened within the warranty period. I purchased my car used and didn't experience this problem until after the extended warranty expired. I feel Nissan should have recalled all cars of this model to correct a problem that is clearly due to poor manufacturing. The recall would have costed more money, but it's the right thing to do.
I attempted to start my car as I left work one afternoon and it would not start. The push start button was in the lock mode and the picture in the dash indicated that my wheel was locked, while my ant-theft light flashed continuously. I made several different attempts for hours to unlock the steering collar myself and start my car, only to fail over and over again which lead to me having it towed to a local Nissan dealership, the next day. The dealership ran a diagnostic test on the car and told me that I needed a new steering lock box, which typically does not go out on cars like mine (2009 Nissan Maxima). This seems to be a manufacture defect but I am being charged at least $1000 to fix this problem, with no fault of my own. Will you assist me in resolving this problem?.
Car does not start. Difficult time getting into the car while using my key fob. When I push the ignition button there is no nose and no lights. Tried jumping the car for 15 minutes with no success. I was told by the Nissan dealership mechanic that it is the steering lock system. This is going to cost me for towing and labor and parts. Money I do not have. Reading up on this problem tells me that there should have been a recall.
Tl- the contact owns a 2009 Nissan Maxima. The contact stated that the security warning light kept randomly coming on and causing the vehicle not to start. The contact was unable to access the vehicle due to the security lock feature to turn the key and start the vehicle. The contact had to tow the vehicle numerous times each time the vehicle was unable to be accessed to start the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who diagnosed that the steering lock control unit needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 84,000. Dyd.
2009 Nissan Maxima, purchased new--key fob light indicator illuminated on dashboard, car won't start, brake lights work, key fob unlocks doors and trunk. Warranty expired about 1k miles ago. I was told that the steering lock part, which may repair/solve the matter is about $1200. I am repulsed and utterly disgusted. Prior to this matter, the tilt feature [for steering wheel) on the car ceased to work.
Went to the supermarket and the car would not turn back on. The key light on the dash board is lite but the car is in lock mode and doesn't allow the car to turn on. It seems that the car isn't recognizing that the key is near to allow it to be turned on. I think there should be a recall on this issue. I've seen hundreds of people with the same issue. I don't have money to fix the issue or get it towed. The car is still in the supermarket parking lot. This is a nightmare. Nissan should take full responsibility for this issue and fix all of these cars free of charge.
Reaches a normal beverage center in my Nissan Maxima 2009 and went out in 4 hours when not lit it wanted to turn on my car, the screen showed two intelligent keys warning lights Nissan and security indicator, the key worked properly, the lights of the car too, the problem is just not turned on at all, I went to Nissan dealership and are charging me 1400 usd to fix my car and I see I'm not the only one with this problem in 2009 Nissan Maxima is very common to have some guarantee should the damaged piece, I need help with my car.
I have an automatic door lock that is malfunctioning. It is currently on the driver side door only but from what I have read online, I expect to begin happening on other doors as the actuator's begin failing. Normally this may be a simple annoyance but since this vehicle uses a key fob it is not possible to quickly unlock the driver side door and there is no way to quickly secure the vehicle. There are several instances where either of these situations could put the someone at risk and in harms way, especially if the driver is relying on the safety mechanism to ensure children do not accidently open a door that has not been properly secured while traveling. The locking and unlocking of a vehicle is intended and designed to keep the vehicle, it's contents, and it's occupants safe and is heavily relied on in todays environment. I have seen estimates to repair this issue from over $500 to almost $2,000, a fairly expense repair for the vehicle owner but a fairly inexpensive cost for the manufacturer. Although this may seem like a stretch to call this a safety issue but for what other purpose are door locks intended? it is my request that the manufacturer issue a recall for faulty door lock actuator's.
Tilt and telescopic motors both failed locking the steering wheel in an awkward and uncomfortable position for driving. Motors continue to try and run thus depleting the battery of energy while the car's engine is off.
Cant start car. . Seems like steering wheel lock assembly malfunction. I have looked and noticed that alot of 2009 Nissans have had this issue.
I parked my car and went to work. I got off of work got in my car and was unable to start my vehicle. My push start button was highlighted in a lock position and I was unable to start my car due to the problem. I researched the issue online and found some information that this has happened to many people with the same system. This vehicle is very new and has low miles. It does not seem fair that because of poor design that a working individual should have to cover the repair costs of the commonly occurring malfunction.
The steering lock module stopped working. I was unable to start the car, the steering wheel and brakes were locked. The keyfob battery was fine, as was the car battery. I hear that this is a known issue with 2009 Nissans. I just bought the car 7 weeks ago. Had to have it towed to a dealer. They diagnosed the problem. Have to wait 3 days for the part. Total cost - approx $900.
Wireless key failed to start car. Car completely dead. Couldn't move wheel or put into neutral to move vehicle. It was not parked safely (a quick stop) but no way to move it. No back up mechanism to allow car to be started or moved.
I was stranded in a parking lot with freeezing temperature. Nissan had to replace the steering lock assembly to the tune of $800. It is a part that has been recalled on the gtr. It has been documented on the 370z. They have done nothing on the Maxima or altima. Owners of the 2009 are told to remove the fuse to take this part out of the equation and not get stranded. Nissan has replaced this part on 2010 vehicles and newer. They should reimburse anyone who has to make this repair. It is a part that is not necessary in this vehicle. Proven by Nissan having their techncians remove the fuse in 2009 Maximas, altimas, 370z and gtr. The faulty part has been proven to exist in the 2009 gtr, 370z and Maximas. Nissans changing of the part in 2010 and newer vehicles is a direct admssion of their guilt.
Steering/brake lock failed to disengage with attempted engine start up. Key indicator light and security lights flashing on dash. Steering lock required replacement after car was towed to nearest Nissan dealership. This repair was not covered under warranty which had expired 7 month earlier. On line research would suggest this is a fairly common occurrence; a Nissan service bulletin has apparently be published for this issue as it was referenced by the service department providing the repair.
