1 Horn Assembly problem of the 2007 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 07/05/2016

The horn on this vechicle does not blow. Nissan serviceman told me this was common on this vehicle, and if I didn't repair it , there might be airbag issues. I call Nissan and filed a claim # 22887303 on 7-5-2016. Was told not to move vehicle from Nissan repair dealer. On 7-6-2016 was told by Nissan they could not help with this hazard problem.

3 Horn Assembly problem of the 2004 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 01/10/2014

Woke up to a horn steadily beeping, went to my window to see what was going on and I see flames shooting about 15 ft high and knew my neighbor's car was on fire, after the fire the owner told me he had not driven the car that day, and that it melted the dashboard and quickly destroyed interior and engine compartment of the car, there could have been fatalities or injuries as the car had a full gas tank, and luckily did not reach gas tank, but if it had there would have been major property damage to several homes, and many lives put at risk.

4 Horn Assembly problem of the 2010 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 12/03/2013

I bought a 2010 Nissan Maxima 2 months ago. I drove it to work this particular day and everything seemed fine but when I tried to leave to go out for lunch, my car wouldn't start. I thought maybe it was the battery, but all lights worked perfectly and horn was still blowing. Called three Nissan dealerships in my area to get advice on what the problem may be, they all suggested that I may need a new battery in the fob. The fob was still working to unlock and lock the car so obviously this wasn't the problem. Still I tried for hours to get the car started and was not able to. After being stranded for hours, I had leave my car. The next day, I had to get it towed to the dealership, where they told me this was a common problem (yet they didn't suggest it when I called). The electrical steering control unit had gone out or malfunctioned. They had the replacement part in stock and had my car repaired the same day, which cost me $815. 52. After researching the problem I found that this was a common problem and an extended warranty was actually issued for the 2009 altima's for the same exact problem. I called Nissan and they were happy to open a case for me and forward it to the corporate office to see if I could get reimbursed since this is a common and known problem. A representative from Nissan called me back the following day and informed me that they are not issuing a extended warranty or issuing refunds for the problem. If this is a known problem why hasn't it been recalled and why won't Nissan take responsibility for the problem? I think that this should be investigated because there was no warning in my case and many other complaints I have read. What if the same thing happens to the "new" part? I'll be stranded again, need towing again, and have to pay for a known, uncorrected problem again.

5 Horn Assembly problem of the 2010 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 11/27/2013

Purchased vehicle November 2012 everything work fine parked car went to bed woke up next day car would not start, intelligent key open and lock doors, horn honks good, key symbol on dash showing steady, push button start symbol states lock, bought new car battery, new intelligent key battery still wont start. Called dealer, service tech states known problem as steeling mechanism locked. Had to pay to tow vehicle to dealer. End of story cost 857. 00 to fix plus 200. 00 for the tow and Nissan wont assist in any kind of way. Dealer tech says I have 1 year warranty on work but this can happen again at any time. I find this to make the vehicle unreliable in all kinds of ways even life threatening. After doing some research this is a very highly common issue which Nissan is well aware of. My family and I own many Nissan vehicles and after this we as family will no longer purchase Nissan vehicles. I don't understand how there isn't a recall or extended warranty on this issue.

6 Horn Assembly problem of the 2004 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 10/16/2008

I own a 2004 Nissan Maxima which was purchased March 2006. Have replaced the struts and later found them to have some sort of defect. The radio/cd player went out about 6 months after the purchase of the vehicle. The horn went out, fog lights had a short, had numerous brake problems. A/c had to be re-charged 1 year after purchase. . This list goes on. October 16, 2008, I had my vehicle towed due both transmission cooler linesbursing on the fwy. The shop repaired both lines totaling $428. 54. Today is November 24, 2008 and my vehicle needs to go back to the shop due to the transmission slipping and jerking into gear. I have gone on line and read all the complaints for the 2004 Nissan Maxima's and the transmission problems. I am having the same issue the other owners have. Something needs to be done! there is evidence that Nissan north America has not put these Maxima's together in a correct manner. These are beautiful cars but are always breaking down. Please help!.

7 Horn Assembly problem of the 2002 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 10/16/2002

Head lights were stolen from the vehicle. Damage was done to the electrical system, hood and bumper because thief knew that there was no motion sensor alarm. The brackets holding each $724 light is made of plastic and can easily be snapped/broken. The anti-theft kit doesn't do anything because it doesn't fix the issue that the lights can still be removed by breaking the bracket without opening the hood. The horn wiring was also removed because of its easy accessibility through the grill.
