The contact owns a 2012 Nissan Maxima. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 mph the open door warning indicator remained illuminated even though all four doors were closed securely. The vehicle was maneuvered to the side of the road. When the push button ignition switch was engaged it failed to shut off the engine and the interior automatic doors would only unlock manually. In addition, the interior lights illuminated continuously. The failure was not diagnosed nor was the vehicle repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 22,995.

Could get inside of vehicle with key, but could not start vehicle through ignition switch. Electronic devise would not read key, and computer had lost the combination. Dealer reprogrammed the key.

The dealership was not able to duplicate the problem; however, they did reset the check engine light. The vehicle was inspected by the dealer, and they suggested changing the ignition switch.

Consumer cannot start vehicle with key, the key will not turn ignition switch, consumer stated this was original key received with vehicle. Consumer contacted dealer, and dealer had to recode key.
Ignition system immobilized when using proper coded Nissan keys. Keys recoded, problem still occurs later. Nissan/factory rep knows max se have aproblem, but don't know why. I have a car that I never know when it won't start and must be towed in!!.
Ignition switch intermittently works. Dealer has had vehicle in dealer's shop for repairs 5 times. Consumer is filling for lemon law.
