While driving on a city street car lost charge would drive very slowly about 1 mile per hour. Brake and battery light came on. Have already replaced battery and alternator about a year ago but when same thing happened today. Per the VIN my car has not been recalled. I'll have to get invoice from tire choice to show what I paid for alternator and battery. Thank you.
My 2003 Nissan Murano stalls out on me while driving, and multiple times just today 06/07/18 while driving at a normal speed limit, vehicle just slows down causing me to put my hazards. I was not able to accelerate. This is a hazard for myself and more important my children who ride in this vehicle with me. My VIN# does not have a recall, but reading other consumer's comments there is a major issue. It's my hope that this can be recalled so that we the consumer's will have a piece of mind and be safe while driving on the roads.
I recently purchased a 2003 Nissan Murano v/6 at awd and both sun visor's keep falling down and obstructing my view. This is a very dangerous situation for the driver. It is a major distraction, especially in heavy traffic, to have to constantly worry about visibility. It seems that this has been an on going issue for many years being ignored by Nissan motor company.
Car randomly shuts off while in motion at various times while on highway and city streets. Most recent occurrence we were attempting to make a left turn and car shut off and rolled into ditch while oncoming traffic was approaching.
The problem with my Nissan Murano like so many others is the transmission. I took it to the dealer and I wasted $125 dollars. I also contacted Nissan cooperate and they have not did anything. Nissan knows this is a manufactory problem and they will not acknowledge the problem. I am so frustrated with this problem I seen that they extended the warranty but I am 20,000 miles over it I need help.
Just bought car 2 months prior to incident. Started having trouble accelerating after a stop light. Foot was down to the ground and car wouldnt move. Called Nissan and they told me there was a recall on the cvt transmission so the warranty was extended to 10 years or 120,000 miles. Since my car is a 2003 the recall was expired. This is a dangerous safety matter, how can this expire! it needs to be fixed but Nissan was no help! seems that I need a new transmission but can't even get the car to go more than 10mph now and it is stuck at dealer! I am still trying to save money for the transmission three months later and dealing with having to pay over $400 monthly including insurance for a car I am not even using!.
Bought this car and paid the first payment on it. Two weeks later was having issues and it took it to my mechanic. Ended up being my transfer case. My mechanic said he was able to pull it down by hand that was how bad it was. I have put less than a 1,000 miles on this new from Nissan transfer case and it is bunny hopping and going bad. You can press the accelerator to the floor and it goes nowhere then bolts forward. Unsafe to drive. My mechanic called Nissan and Nissan states they have never head of anything like this. Really?!?!?!?!?! they told my mechanic when he purchased it that it was the newly designed transfer case same design as the 2005 and should not have any problems. Yet they claim they know nothing about the issue. Why would you rebuild something if it was fine and had no issues. Anyways, the part has a 12/12,000 warranty on it, but I have to again pay for the labor which is $1800. . . It has been less than two months. . . Why do I have to pay for labor again! keep getting a code stating that it needs a crank shaft sensor. I also have replaced two of them @ $100 a pop! this is crap and Nissan needs to fix it. This dangerous and will lead to fatalities.
I am driving the car and it wont accelerate in traffic. A warning light goes on then goes off. This vehicle is not safe. I bought this car for my daughter and am scared to let her drive it. ,I am a widow and money is very tight. I bought this car thinking it would be safe. This started happening so I goggled it to see if anyone else has or had these issues. There are a lot of complaints like this. There is a recall for the car but only certain VIN#'s. How can you rule out the other ones that are having the same issue. They are all saying that they wont going in traffic on the highway. Is it going to take someone dying before Nissan will do something about this car and it's problem. My husband died in a car accident. I have post traumatic stress disorder where this is concerned and it is taking everything I can do to not to start having panic attacks where this is concerned. Nissan needs to do something and so does the government regarding the safety of this car.
The lock handle on the driver's door came out of the door. No prior warning, etc. Complete failure & does no open car anymore. Excessive & countless similar incidents on Murano owner sites & Nissan sites. Dealer says $800 to repair! safety issue as to keeping car locked, etc.
Purchased this vehicle in 2012, used- bag an having issues immediately, including , no heat, stalling, windows rolling down on their own in winter- returned it to the dealer and they kept for 1 week, said there was nothing wrong except the fuel pump. We replaced it and trouble continued. Contacted Nissan and they said to take to dealer for diagnostic, a certified Nissan mechanic now looking it over and claims there is nothing wrong, we have thrown so much money into trying to get it to work. Overheats and can not climb even the smallest of incline without overheating, the Nissan company wants us yo pay for all the testing they require, we have been paying for a vehicle that is not drivable or reliable in any way- after 4 years there is still no answers as to why it will not run properly, so disappointing yo purchase a vehicle that looks good and is comfortable, and has become a lawn ornament that still has a large balance to pay- does Nissan produce things they walk away from laughing at the consumers for purchasing a non reputable vehicle. So aggravating to be told it is our problem, feel as though I could have gone to the junkyard and purchased a wrecked vehicle and had better results, we just want to be able to depend on a vehicle we purchased without the run around. Sounds like they made a problem car from the other comments on how others have experienced the same issues, without any answers. The unexpected stalling and overheating and no production of heat in the vehicle has been issue since purchasing in 2012 to now 2016, just would like some sort of answers.
Vehicle hesitates and does a bunny hop randomly during stop and go traffic. Vehicle won't move at all you can have it floored, than all of a sudden it takes off. Took it to Nissan, they keep telling me its the transmission, which makes no sense since it only does it once in awhile. I finally decided to file a complaint because I was driving home the other day slowed down to get on interstate and car wouldn't go. . . Almost got side swiped by a tractor trailer and rear ended by the guy behind me who assumed I was going. I have done some research, it does not seem like anyone really knows the cause and I am very perplexed as to the number of people having this issue yet no recall. . . I guess someone will have to die for this issue to be taken seriously, usually how things get done in the us.
I was traveling out of town alone with my 3 children and after we had been on the road for about 3 1/2 hours, the front windshield wipers came on by themselves along with the back windshield wipers, the lights were going on and off by themselves, the left blinker came on by itself, and the dash information (dte, fuel economy) was just coming on and off by itself. There was water coming out of the fuse box on the drivers side, and you could hear a sizzling sound. I took it to the nearest Nissan dealer, they said they fix it and I got back on the road and it happened again 2 hours later same stuff. I just turned off the ac and kept driving with everything going crazy, because all the service departments were closed and I could not get anyone to help me. When I arrived at my destination I took it to the nearest Nissan dealership the next day and they said that the ac hose was loose and was allowing water to get into everything. I hope it is fixed, but I am now scared to drive it anywhere and I have to travel 6 hours away from home every now and then because I have a child 6 hours away from home in college and you never know when I will have to go up there unexpectedly. I am thing about trading it off because I do not feel safe in it anymore, but the trade in value is a lot less than the pay off.
Initially, this car would stop in the middle of intersection and on the highway due to a faulty alternator. I almost got in an accident . The car would loss power and then take off and finally the car would stop on a busy highway. I almost got killed 3 times due the car stalling out on me. The transmission died on me 3 times. The first two times, I had only 20-30,000 miles. ( I puchased the car brand new). The very last time they replaced the transmission (costing me $6, 000) I had about 160,000 miles. Even after having Nissan replace the transmission 3 times, the car still stalls or shuts off while in motion. About a year ago, I had new cat convertors installed, a new manifold and exhuast installed. It ran for about 6 months and now it is still stalling out and stopping (while in motion) me. This is very dangerous. Now Nissan thinks the crank shaft positioning is the cause of the problem but refuse to do it for free because the VIN# to my car is not listed with the rest of the 2003 Murano's (recall list). This I think is ridiculus. It seems to me that Nissan has alot problems with their older Murano's with regards to stalling, stopping suddenly while in motion. They seem to care less if the owners life is at risk. I have been dealing with these issues, since I first purchased the car. It is a piece of junk and it is an extreme hazard to drive on the highway.
