general problems of the 2003 Nissan Murano

During the hot summer months in the phoenix arizona area I've experienced hesitation (especially in traffic) when either moving slowly along or traffic picks up or turning and I have to mash harder on the accelerator, sometimes 2-4 times!!! this is frightening !! what is the problem as I've checked filters, gas, intake? and asked mechanic ???.

My 2003 Murano se/sl aawhen I first start the engine it makes a sound like it has no oil or engine is choking but its starts but if engine is idling for 5 mins or so its shut off but I can start it again but after when im driving engine just dies off amd wont start again for about 5 mins. That problems has been going on constantly when im on the road with my children or by myself last week I was driving my son to school and I was waiting to turn left and once I was turning my Murano died off in the middle of the road luckily the on coming traffic had a red light so I had a chance to push it of the intersection, one other time I was picking up dinner amd engine just died off on me while I was making a right turn and gear couldnt be released of drive and key wouldn't turn either some how while I was jerking the key I was able to shift to park and key was released that time I was lucky another vehicle stopped next to me and turn their emergency hazard light because my car seemed like the vehicle wasnt responding at all not even jump starting worked and after 20 25 mims it just started againg . Ive already fixed the faulty code but it still does it and now the cam and crank shaft codes appeared.

While driving on the interstate the vehicle lost acceleration completely. . It had to be re-started in order to continue driving. Once in ,option again, the engine was idling extremely high and continued that way until the vehicle was turned off and sat for over an hour. Started.

I bought this car years 3 years ago in miami and in the beginning I noticed about this problem but I thought that it was a minor problem that I could fix whit the time but I was wrong. If I'm sending this complaint now, is because on my effort to fix the acceleration problem I find this information on the web where it looks that I'm not the only one who has the same problem. The worst part of this began a couple mouths ago when I was getting back from pensilvania with my family on the highway driven around 65 miles and unexpectedly this horrible problem came "the deceleration"from 65 it was getting to 30 miles, it scared me a lot but I considerd myself that I'm a good driver and my first reaction was to let the motor work by itself I didn't toch the speed and the brake and I pull over the car with the emergecy lights I turn it off and I waited 20 minutes and then I turn it on the car again, fortunately it worked after this whitout any problem I thought. I live in new york city and honestly I don't need the car if I bought is just for pleasure to go out the city to vacation and here I find other problem; when you are driving short distances like here in the city you didn't notice about this but the problem it comes when you are driving long distances over 50 miles and then the motor loose power. This problem is getting worse every time when I do the ignition then 5 minutes latter the motor loose power. I change several auto parts on the the engine sistem and the electrical too, I thought that may be the electrical sistem could be the problem a sensor a fusible or something but however I still whitout fix this problem I don't want drive any more this car because I don't know how could be the reaction of the car again on a highway, even I don't want even try to sell it because obviously will be badness to sell at somebody on that condition. Thank you.

Nissan Murano 2003 - in the middle of driving on a highway going 45 mph, the engine shuts down and luckily, I was on the decline side of a bridge and was able to roll safely to the side without incident. I had my 2 year old son and wife in the car and cannot imagine what would have happened if the car shut off on the incline side of the bridge. The car was towed and the mechanics inspected the car and found that the fuse for the fuel system burnt out. They have no idea how that fuse could have burnt out. Once replaced the car functioned with no issues. I am not sure if this has happened to anyone else.

Fuel door locks and does not open,actuators defective 2003 Nissan Murano.

2003 Nissan Murano-stalling out and barely going-took to local mec. And he replaced mass air flow sensor @ approximate 83,227miles. This problem started after the Murano was in the gray daniels Nissan shop here in jackson,ms for air filter and brake work. No help from them ; just my problem. Well I will voice my thoughts to everyone on not buying a Nissan. Edmonds has many complaints about this problem . Just another take your money with no service. Wkp.

Nissan Murano sl. While driving this car in heavy traffic at about 65mph the service engine soon light came on and the car slowed down to a stop. I was unable to get the car going again. This incident happened on a 250 mile drive I could not use my cell because it happened in a dead zone. I had just had the car serviced with a oil change the day before this incident.
