I own a 2004 Nissan Murano. Front wheel drive. My driver side sun visor does not stay up any more? it started falling down in 2007, by 2009 I had to remove the lighted mirror to decrease the weight so that the visor would not have the added weight pulling the visor down. I tried to wrap duck tape around the visor plastic tab but the visor stills falls after awhile. It now just falls every time I go out for a drive. Nissan dealership and auto maker will not make good on this defective product!!!.
I have a 2004 Nissan Murano. The sun visors fall loose at the slightest vibration. Every bump we hit sends them falling into my path of vision. I have 60k and therefore I am out of the factory warranty. I fear that the visor will fall at the wrong time, causing a potential accident. Please tell me what I can do to have Nissan correct this.
2004 Nissan Murano sun visor falling unexpectedly and blocking vision.
Driver's side sun visor constantly fails by falling from the up position while driving. Dealer's remedy is to replace, since there is no repair available for an obviously defective product. This is a major safety concern since the visor falls down in the driver's line of sight.
Sun visors do not stay in clip which allows visor to fall at any time. Had the clips replaced under warranty in 2005 but problem is occurring again after warranty expiration. Extremely hazardous due to startling distraction. There should be a recall.
Own a 2004 Nissan Murano. Sun visor on both driver and passenger sides have failed to stay in their proper all-the-way flip up or down positions. They would suddenly and unexpectedly drop to obstruct the vision of the driver. Said problem is prevalent in models 2003-2007 and has been cited by a lot of owners. Dealer quoted cost $300+ to replace.

Sun visor.
2004 Nissan Murano sunvisors are junk. They are a very serious safety hazard when they fall down when you are driving and obstruct your vision. Nissan want $330. 00 to replace this visor with I assume another piece of crap ya right, they need to be recalled!!!!!!!!!! I will never buy another Nissan in my life just because of these annoying overpriced dangerous sunvisors!!!.
The sun visor on my 2004 Nissan Murano fails to stay 'up' out of the driver's vision. It starts to fall unexpectedly and becomes more and more prone to falling into the drivers line of vision. My first sun visor failed before I had the car three years but after I had driven 36,000 miles. After a number of phone calls to Nissan, they replaced the sun visor. Now, approximately three years later, the replacement sun visor also falls unto my line of sight. This is not repairable: it must be replaced at the cost of over $300 for the part alone, and I expect, from the number of complaints I have seen, that the next visor will also fail.
The driver side sun visor on my 2004 Nissan Murano falls when ever I hit a bump in the road. There has not been an accident yet but when it falls it causes me to loose sight of the road in front of me and also causes me to take my attention off of driving while trying to fix it. This is a very dangerous situation.
The passenger sun visor keeps flopping down and obstructing view. There is a mechanism failure in the spring that holds it up. Have seen a number of complaints on blogs about this and even if you order a new visor, mechanism still fails. It is a safety issue and one that does not seem to have a resolution. . . . It is also on the onus of the driver to deal with a defect.
The driver's visor falls suddenly blocking vision. Nothing has been done to cause this. I have read of many similar complaints by Murano owners online. This is a safety issue that Nissan is ignoring.
2004 Nissan Murano driver side sun visor does not stay in place, drops down and affects vision.
The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that the driver side visor would fall down at random without warning. He took the vehicle to the dealer and was told that the visor was not covered by the warranty; however, the visor needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. He had not consulted the manufacturer to-date. The current mileage was approximately 56,000. The failure mileage was approximately 52,000. Updated 01/20/10 updated 01/22/10.
2004 Nissan Murano sl drivers side sun visor falls down and blocks the view of the driver unexpectedly. Started at about 6 months ago. Dealership denies responsibility.
The drivers side sun visor failed to keep its 'up position' or in a selected position to shade the driver from the sun. This is a safety hazard that left uncorrected could result in an accident. Nissan has not issued a voluntary recall on the visor even though many people have complained about the problem.
On my 2004 Murano se, the driver's sun visor fails to stay in place when use and falls to block the driver's vision. It also does not stay fully in the up position and I fear that it could fall down to block the driver's vision as well.
2004 Nissan Murano's driverside sunvisor drops down causing visual distraction.
2004 Nissan Murano driver's side sun visor drops suddenly obscuring visibility .
The sun visor of my Nissan Murano 2004 on the driver side does not stay up and keeps on falling into my eyes. From the forums I have visited, I have noticed that this is a common problem with Murano vehicles. It started almost a year ago. At that time I used to be able to put it up in position and it would stay up for a while, but now the cognition has worsened. Now no matter how hard I try, the sun visor would not stay in place and keep on dropping into my eyes. I cannot believe that a reputed car manufacturer like Nissan can build such an inferior product. In my mind it is a safety issue and government should ask Nissan to stand up to their product and issue a recall. This is not the only problem I am having with this car. Other problems are: 1. Driver side power seat does not function because some part is broken, but because of this, I need to replace entire mechanism. 2. Gas cap cover does not open. I had to spend $400 to get it fixed. 3. There is some engine component that makes internal noise that could make my vehicle stop while diving. I have been told that this costs $4,500. Looks like whole car is falling apart in under 60,000 miles. It is incomprehensible that Nissan has manufactured this car with built-in obsolescence.
Nissan Murano driver's side sun visor falls into driver's line of vision when driving over bumpy roads. This is a safety hazard as it impedes the driver's visibility. It happens consistently and the only solution appears to be replacing the visor at a cost of $400+.
I have a 2004 Nissan Murano. Both sun visors have failed and I'm concerned that it is unsafe. When the vehicles is jarred both visors will suddenly flip into the down position, momentarily distracting the driver and obstructing vision. I have already spoken to the Nissan dealer and the service manager said Nissan is very aware of the problem but will not issue a recall.
Sun visor problem: both driver side and passenger side sun visors don't stay up. This is dangerous when I'm driving as it blocks/interferes with my vision! it will stay up for a short period of time, then fall whenever I hit a bump.
Sun visor will not stay in the up position. Have replaced it once and the second model has failed as well.
The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that while driving the drivers side sun visor fell down and made it difficult for him to see. The dealer stated that the visor is not covered under the warranty. The VIN was not available. The mileage was 80000 and the current mileage was 100000.
2004 Nissan Murano sl. Sun visor fall down and won't stay in the "up" position. While driving the driver side visor will "fall" blocking the drivers view. The visor either needs to be held in the up position, or turned to the side to keep from blocking view forward, but with visor turned to the side it blocks the side view. This has not been replaced as of yet due to a new visor costing over 320. 00. I have talked to the dealership and seen on several forums where this is a very common and unsafe problem.
The sun visor will not stay up. It falls down, constantly and blocks my husband's view (he is taller). It doesn't block my view, but is startling when it drops down and it does restrict my field of vision. This is not covered under my extended warranty. It is a $300 + replacement. I have read several different forums concerning this problem and there are people who have replaced the same part more than once.
The drivers side sun visor falls down without warning blocking the drivers vision. This happens frequently. The dealer wants $400. To replace the entire visor. I currently use velcro to secure it. But this doesn't work very well. This is a common problem on 2003-2006 Nissan Muranos and should be a safety recall to correct the issue before someone is seriously injured or killed due to this manufacturing defect.
Driver's side visor suddenly drops, completely obscuring view of the road. Will not stay in place. Now I have to hold it up with my hand while driving.
The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that the driver side sun visor would repeatedly fall, obstructing the driver's view of the roadway. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer yet the dealer could not guarantee that the failure would not recur. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact called the manufacturer who offered no assistance the failure mileage was approximately 90,000 and the current mileage was approximately 136,000.
I have a 2004 Nissan Murano se. The driver's side sun visor will not stay up and is a driving hazard as it keeps falling in my face if I hit a bump or brake. Nissan quoted me $400 to fix the problem and I can't afford it. I did a search online and found this is a known issue with this same vehicle years 2004 and up. I tried velcro and glue with no success. Now with a teenage driver, I'm very concerned for her when she drives my car.
Passenger & driver side visor will not stay up. Falls to down position blocking the view of oncoming traffic. This problem prevents safe operation of vehicle. This is a wide spread problem. . Read more...
I have a 2004 Nissan Murano. Both driver's and passenger's sun visors fall to the down position when the vehicle hits a bump or when the brake is pressed. This can cause a safety hazard as it obstructs my view while driving. The cost to repair or replace the visor seems absurdly high especially when I look at several forums of Murano owners having the same problem. I now drive with my hand holding the visor in the "up" position which is also a hazard because I have to drive with one hand in order to see without the visor falling. I have researched the web and saw several Murano owners have the same problem. At what point or how many complaints do you need to receive in order to recall the item? does someone need to get into a serious accident or notify the media to seek action?.
