Drivers seat is not sitting right almost seems like it came unhinged. Driving on a short distance trip I noticed that every time I needed to turn and it the road was windy I could smell fuel and it seems like I was loosing gas as I was driving like it was punchard or spilling some how. . I'm no mechanic but as a pregnant woman I was absolutely nauseous from going only an hour away. Also it seemed like I would periodically loose power and at one point actually had to pull over and let the vehicle air out and cool down. Seems like the was a situation with the coolant as well had to replace the cap and it looks as though that had been a issue with the previous owner as well.
The rear subframe has been rotting for some time before being discovered. The driver side sway bar link in the rear has broken. Joint points are ready to break as well. Tires leaning inwards.
Normal driving and the seat broke and has been for several years causing instability and oscillation. Recently my steering wheel will not align, brought it to a mechanic that informed me the rear sub-frame is cracked on both sides causing the tires to malign, creating un-even wear on the back tires and a hazard to drive.
My car horn recently stopped working when depressing the areas on the steering column with the horn icon. I almost got into multiple accidents, first when driving on the interstate and could not honk on aggressive drivers who sharply pulled in front of me when driving; and later when trying to park in a parking lot and another driver reversed into me because he could not see me and I could not honk to signal him that I was in his blindspot. I checked with my mechanic of 23 years and he found that there was no issue with the fuse or the horn itself - the horn activates when manually triggered. However, there is a problem with the relay from the steering column to the horn and with this Nissan model, that relay is integrated with the air bag in the steering column. It's possible that there's also an issue with the airbag but it's never had reason to deploy. Lodging this incident because the horn is a central part of any car safety system and there seems to be a manufacturer defect in the relay that is integrated into the steering column to trigger the horn.
We were driving 35 mph, and the rear tires started squealing. We pulled over and saw that both rear tires were slanted inward and the left rear was twisted, not going straight. I tried to drive it further and the rear tires would not turn. After going a block, we parked it and got a ride home. The next day, we had it towed to the local Nissan dealership. They inspected it and told us that the rear subframe had given out, due to rust. Thankfully, we were not going fast, as this situation made the whole rear suspension disconnected from the vehicle. I have called Nissan customer affairs, and they just quote what the warranty is on the vehicle. They say they can do absolutely nothing for us. Many Nissan forums have multiple customers posting a similar problem. Who buys a car, and the frame just gives out? I am extremely disappointed with Nissan's lack of responsibility and customer service. I'd like them to offer some resolution. Ironically, we also own a '13 Nissan Murano. I am very concerned that the same thing could happen to this vehicle in the next few years. If that's the case, I'm going to sell it in a year or two. Please help us out NHTSA. Thank you for your time.
I just purchased my 2006 Nissan Murano still making payments and I noticed when I am driving it feels like the back is riding on ice. I drove it on the freeway and was so scared of the way the car felt like I had no control of the steering it felt as if it was goingvto fishtail. I did take it back to the car lot I bought it from to have someone take a look at it and they gave me the number of a mechanic. The mechanic asked if they were paying for the diagnostic and I thought thats what the warranty was for but was told the warranty only covers the tranny and engine. So they said they would get ahold of the owner and ask him if they can pay for it that was 4 or 5 days ago and still no word back. I plan on taking the car to get it checked out if I can find someone to diagnose it free I am on disability and still making payments on the car so have very little money left after all my bills.
I was driving my Murano about 40 mph on a four-lane divided road in centennial CO around 12:30 pm on March 13, 2020 when I heard a very loud bang right above my head. The sky was perfect clear blue, so no chance it was hail. I knew instantly that my sun roof glass had shattered. I heard pieces of it rolling off the car. I pulled off on to the first side street and got out to examine what had happened. I saw a hole in the sun roof about 6 inches x 6 inches in the center of the sun roof. I initially thought something had fallen out of the sky and hit my car, but I could tell from how the glass was pointed upward around the edges of the hole that a force underneath the glass had shattered it.
The vehicle has a subframe that has rotted from the inside out. After doing research online, this is a common issue with most Murano's produced between the years 2004 and 2007 with around 120,000 miles. The result of this is loss of stability on the road while moving, and the potential for the rear suspension to come off of the vehicle. This also causes the car to not pass pennsylvania state inspection regulations. Again, because this issue is caused from the metal of the subframe corroding from the inside out, it is a manufacturer's fault, no the driver/owners's. And because the majority of this make of car in these select years, shows coincidence is not to blame.
Car is sluggish at take off and makes a horrible rattling noise once I've accelerated at 20 miles and more. Very loud.
The engine stalls unexpectedly while in motion. Has happened several times. Almost causing accident. Nissan recall intake air ducts resonator. 2009. Nissan will not help because of the VIN number.
The intake air thing as mentioned online there is a recall for bc it comes loose and pops off.
I was driving my car to work when suddenly my car just suddenly stopped on the middle of the road without any warning. . . I had my mechanic tow it. . . . The battery and alternators replaced. . . Then I drove it and thesame thing happened. . . Everything just shut off just after some few hours from the repair shop.
The entire exhaust system is rotted out and is causing my vehicle to melt. I have been in contact with Nissan and they are refusing to rectify the issue.
On numerous occasions while driving the vehicle and excel on the gas pedal all the way to the floor, the car will only go 5 mph and will eventually take off at full speed.
The gas gage will show full when I fill the tank yet 50 miles of driving and it starts to show empty and then go up to 3/4 tank and then empty again the low fuel light and servce engine light comes on and I am never sure how much fuel or mileage I am getting from a tank of gas. I changed the fuel pump about a year ago thinking this would solve the problem I get code po463 when checked with scanner. The car has 132, 000 miles on it and this problem is ongoing. My son ran out of gas in the middle of an intersection when it quit. No way to be sure of how much fuel and on a trip to nc from fla I am afraid of this car running out on the highway with me an old disabled woman alone. I have read many peoples accounts online that this is an ongoing issue and it is surely a safety hazard. . It will say the tank is empty and when I put gas in it only takes 5 gal or it will read full and run out of gas.
Upon starting cold engine a loud tapping or rattling sound heard coming from front of car. Sound increases when accelerating until reaching 40 to 45 mph - then it almost disappears. Once engine is warm sound is barely noticeable. It also takes a lot of strength to turn the steering wheel left, when backing out of the driveway into the street, or when turning left into a driveway or a parking space. It feels like there is no power steering. Slight left turns are normal as are all right turns. Vehicle is going into dealer Tuesday which is their first opening. I will update this once it is determined what is causing the problem /problems.
Cd in a Nissan Murano is stuck.
I had my vehicle towed to a local Nissan dealership to get a key made for it, since I had lost the key. The vehicle was in operation up to date. After getting a key made by the dealership, the key will not turn in the ignition for it is locked. The dealership told me that I now need to purchase a steering lock to get it fixed. The Murano I purchased was from a used dealership and I was unaware of any recalls and did not receive any letter to date for the recall on the steering lock since I have had it. There was a recall done on the Nissan Murano's in the 2006 date range for this same reason. I would like it to be fixed free of charge since I did not break it to begin with.
The air duct (pipe) coming from the air filter unattached itself causing the computer to shut down the engine. This happened while car was moving causing loss of steering and break loss.
During my drive while exiting off the highway. The vehicle jumped/sped up on its own as if I accelerated. Felt like a transmission slip. While approaching my exit, car just died out. I was able to steer off and put on my emergency hazard flashers. I tried to start the car, and it just cranked. I waited approx. Ten minutes and I was able to continue slowly until the car died out again. Experienced some hesitation along the drive home and with no warning, just a check engine light illuminating, the car died again.
I have replaced the wheel barring twice in one yr, the pinion has been repaired as well.
While driving at about 30 mph my drivers side visor suddenly came down so as to block my vision of the road ahead. This startled me and distracted me while I flipped it back to its normal up position. However it did not stay up. Nissan dealer told me this is a common occurrence and is about $250 to replace the visor. To this day it will stay up for awhile but will come down especially if it is warm in the vehicle. This is very annoying and potentially dangerous.
The sun visor on both sides of Nissan Murano keeps falling and especially while driving. This is a very common issue and Nissan needs to address.
I tried to park my car in a parking. It would not go into park; it would go no further than neutral gear. As a result, because I could not go into reverse I had to drive over a median to exit the parking lot. I subsequently discovered that transmission problems are endemic with this make and model. Why have you not ordered Nissan to issue a recall?.
My driver's side visor has suddenly decided to keep falling down. It will not stay in the upright position. It slowly works its way downward. When I hit a bump in the road the other day it just fell all the way down. This was while changing lanes and could have caused an accident due to the distraction and the visibility issues. I have the gold extended preferred warranty, and Nissan states it isn't covered, yet I don't agree that it is a wear and tear item. I don't even use the visor enough for it to be worn and torn. . . . I think it jut fails over time, perhaps due to heat from the sun. This appears to be a recurring problem based on the complaints actually filed here at NHTSA and the postings found online. A goodwill warranty program would seem to be in order here at the minimum.
Sun visor left side.
The driver side sun visor does not stay up. It keeps falling. I have spoken to Nissan and they said it is not a warranty item. I have searched the Nissan forums and read where one Nissan mechanic, (metro273) said that this is a faulty problem with the sun visor and he has repaired many. To my point this presents a hazard for the driver because if the car is in motion and this thing falls down, the driver has to make a split decision by taking his eyes off the road to remove the obstacle that is blocking his or her view. Nissan should warranty this item and replace it for free.
The sunvisors will not stay up and cause great distraction and low visibility.
Horn stopped working, air bag lights stay on all the time. Nissan claims there is no recall on these parts.
The car lurches and pauses when I am going at very low speed and take my foot off the gas. The car does not cruise at low speeds and feels as though I am hitting the brakes.
The hinge mechanism that keeps the sun visor in the up position, fails causing the visor to randomly fall while I'm driving. This causes me to be startled & also is a visibility problem. This should be a safety recall! after eventually getting so bad it would not stay up at all & then finding out it would cost $300+ to replace, I'm stuck using a velcro strap attached to drivers side "o-s@&t" bar to keep it up!.
I have problem whin the sun visor left side was on the Nissan office and they say I have to buy or repair the cost is like $500. 00 they don't cover anything so if can help me to do any solution thanks.
When you try to use the driver side visor, it will only work in the completly down position. As I am 5'-7" tall, the visor in this position almost completely blocks my view. Some other times it just drops down on it's own. I have a Nissan muran 2006. Laura - south carolina.
This has been happening for about a 2 years now. I decided I was tired of getting upset and slamming the visor on the top of the roof when I hit a bump and it falls. I am tired of driving 70 mph on the interstate and all of a sudden the visor drops and blocks my vision. I almost was in a wreck yesterday because of this stupid visor. I researched it and realized there are multiple other complaints about the Nissan visor and this exact issue. Someone is going to get killed with this stupid thing.
Solar visor not secure. Has fallen repeatedly during normal driving. Presents major safety hazard as view of road will be impaired when visor fails to remain in up position.
