1 Adaptive Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/07/2013

While driving on the highway, my situational awareness was extremely compromised when my my driver's side sun visor inadvertently came down and would no longer stay in the upright position. I had to drive with it this way for the rest of my trip (over 2 hours) with heavy rain. It was dangerous as my visibility was substantially obstructed with the visor. A quick search in the internet revealed that this is a somewhat common occurrence due to poor visor design and Nissan seems to be overlooking the issue. Replacement visors are several hundred dollars and seem to fail alike in the same spot (the arm headliner attachment). If Nissan won't re-engineer the part to correct the problem, they should replace it free of charge. This is a safety issue bound to reoccur.
