I purchased a 2007 Nissan Murano the end of June. The first time I drove it on a wet road I almost lost control, and I was driving well below the speed limit. The next week I got different tires put on and took it for an alignment. The first independent service center I took it to showed me where the rear subframe on both the driver and passenger were completely rusted through, and they told me I should drive the vehicle as little as possible until I got it fixed. I took it to a second independent service center to see if it could be fixed without having to be completely replaced, they told me they could not, nor could an aligment be done and that I should stop driving it immediately. I had only had the car for a month and a half before I had to park it. This is a major issue that needs to be addressed by Nissan!! I don't have the money to have the car fixed, nor can I sell it. So I'm making payments on a car that is doing nothing but collecting dust and taking up space. Unfortunately I am learning that this is a major issue with this vehicle. Nissan needs to fix it before people are killed, not just people driving the vehicle, but other motorists, and possible pedestrians. The airbag light is also on and I haven't been in an accident, nor has there been any work done to it since I bought it.
I see the air bag light on and won't turn off for about almost a week and a half after I purchase it a week later this year and it lightly shakes when I put on drive ,don't know if that will be another issue . Hopefully I can have your company gide me in the right direction to solve this problem .
Our son was leaving long pond, harwich MA recreational parking lot at a regular driving speed, there are pot holes in the parking lot there but he did not go over them any faster or slower than normal. The air bags went off a few seconds after going through one of the pot holes but he did not go through the pot hole any faster or slower than he has been through the parking lot before.
Takata recall was informed by mechanic that there is an issue with air bags and they need to be checked out can be dangerous. While driving the car slows down on its own on higway.
I own a 2007 Nissan Murano that I bought used 1. 5 years ago. There are two serious safety issues that the car has and for which Nissan has had to recall thousands of other vehicles. I just cannot understand why my particular vehicle was not covered under the recall. It's just too coincidental and Nissan should be held accountable. Recall number 09v169000 recall date 05/19/2009 component engine and engine cooling the intake air ducts, which are connected to the intermediate resonator in the air intake system of the engine, may separate from the resonator with engine movement. This separation occurs due to the premature aging of the material used in the intake air ducts which causes excessive shrinking. A varistor in the OCS control unit located in the passenger seat cushion may have been manufactured out of specification. Under certain conditions, this could cause an interruption of signal between the OCS and the air bag control unit (acu). Consequence this could result in the passenger air bag being suppressed which could fail to provide adequate protection in the event of a crash.
"takata recall" my airbag icon started to blink. Checked all connections and everything seems to connected. My wife uses this vehicles with my kids. Concerned about the safety of my family.
Driving on the interstate. Abs lights, brake lights, and odometer stopped working. Smelled burning from under the hood. Took it to a Nissan dealership who determined that the fuse box was faulty, the abs module went out as well as the ecm. Dealership said that my air bags were not functioning since the incident, and that the vehicle was unsafe to drive. When searching to find out what happened, found numerous incidents of Nissan vehicles having the same exact issue.
