general problems of the 2007 Nissan Murano

The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power, with the engine coolant, fuel level, and check engine warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that an unknown part needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 152,000.

The vehicle was not driving well and the fuel sensor was not working properly. We took the vehicle to an independent repair shop. The lower control arms were replaced at that time, however the fuel sensor was not as it was an additional expense we could not pay for out of pocket. These are both known problems to Nissan and have already been recalled on other SUV's of the same model year. In speaking to Nissan there is nothing they are willing to do to ensure the safety of the vehicle or to reimburse us for the repair already made.

2007 Nissan Murano. Consumer states problem with fuel meter resulting in faulty reading of the fuel level. The consumer stated the fuel meter did not show the correct fuel level, the service engine light illuminated and the consumer started experiencing static in the vehicle. The consumer took the vehicle to the dealer and they stated the vehicle was fixed, however the consumer experienced the same problem four additional times. Each time the consumer went back to the dealer, they replaced the fuel meter and other related parts.
