Recently my 2007 Nissan Murano was dragging a little on slow speeds. I checked the wheels and found the driver's side rear brake had more brake dust then the other side. I pulled the wheels and found that the brake caliper was froze. I bought two "new" calipers and rotors and replaced them. I then used an air driven suction device to replace all the fluid in the system and bleed the air out of the system. When I started it up the brake pedal was very spongy so I brought to the local tire kingdom about 1/2 mile away and let them bleed it out. They stated that the master cylinder was now no good. I purchased a "new" master cylinder installed it, and re-bleed the system. The pedal was still dangerously spongy and low so on 06/14/202i the vehicle to the local Nissan dealer. After a few days they stated that the "abs brake actuator" was not functioning. I questioned why the abs warning light didn't come on and they didn't know. The dealer said the part was no longer available new so hey offered to get one from lkq scrap yard for $780. 00 and for $220. 00 more it would be covered for a year. I looked into the issue and found that the 2009 Murano's were recalled for this issue, so I inquired what year was the part coming out of. They didn't know so I got one on my own from the exact same vehicle and brought to them to install. A few days later they stated that the new "master cylinder" was defective. I went back to nappa auto and bought another one and gave to them to install and re-bleed the system. My question is a vehicle with an abs warning light a brake system warning light and even just a engine check light never came on, why not? the dealer has no answer for me and I am concerned that this will happen again and possibly at a higher rate of speed. Can you investigate this incident for me? thank you for your time and consideration.
Tl the contact owns a 2007 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that while driving at 65 mph, the brakes and battery warning lights flashed on the instrument panel and the vehicle stalled. The contact coasted to the shoulder. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. A dealer was not made aware of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact was informed that the vehicle was not subjected to a recall. The failure mileage was 186,000.
Takata recall multiple times the car while in motion wants to cut off or won't drive. I was driving and it wasn't wanting to drive. I pulled into a parking lot to my right. Then as I entered the parking lot the car turned off completely by itself and I couldn't use my breaks or steering wheel. I ended up running it into a curb to be able to come to a complete stop. I have read that there is a recall on 2005-2007 Nissan. I looked up my VIN number to see if there was a recall and it says there was not a recall on my vechile but other Nissan owners have been having the same problem. I have a baby and don't need my Nissan shutting off and causing an accident while I have my baby in the car.
Was concern about the seat it goes,up but leaks, down and ,rocks like it is broke, the airbag light keeps flashing and wont stop, jumpy accelertion, and replacing front brake can be costly. I bought this vehicle and according to internet by VIN# printed out no recalls, shows now I see it had recalls what can I do to get this taken care of? driving down the road the seat felt like it was changing the height and I had to keep readjusting it, I then stopped and went to get out and it rocked. I weigh 100lbs so I could not have broken it.
Takata recall got a vehicle from a small business and car no good they repulled the vehicle 2 times.
I purchased my 2007 Murano in August 2011. From the date of purchase, I've had multiple issues. The brakes have been a constant issue, I've had to replace the front struts (before 60,000 miles) and was told that I need to replace the rear shocks as soon as possible, the driver side visor is broken, 2 months ago it began leaking oil for some unknown reason, and now the front seat is broken, causing the left hand side of the seat to 'float'. I weigh 140 lbs so it's not like I've caused any undue stress on the seat. The vehicle currently has 70,000 miles. I cannot afford to make all the repairs - but cannot sell it until I do make them (who in their right mind wants to purchase a car that needs $2500 poured into it for repairs, with new issues occurring on a regular basis). It's a shame that Nissan can produce something of such poor quality and not be forced to stand behind their product. This is the worst car I've ever owned. If I can ever get rid of this it I'll never own another Nissan.
The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that while reversing out of his residential garage and engaging the brakes, the pedal was abnormally depressed into the floorboard. The contact stated that he was unable to stop the vehicle and crashed against a tree. A police report was not filed and no injuries were reported. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who filed a report on the incident. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 70,600.
It was a chilly winter afternoon and I had just pulled out of a business parking lot into traffic. The speed limit was 30mph and I was slowly getting up to speed. The traffic light changed to red and when I applied the brakes, nothing happened. It was like I was pressing against a solid wall. I had to swerve around cars, honking my horn as I couldn't stop. I managed to pull into another parking lot while repeatedly trying to apply the brakes. The brakes finally released after about 1 minute of pumping. This has happened approximately 10 more times since then. The dealer states that there is no issue with brakes and this is something they've never dealt with. It cannot be replicated once car has been running for more than 10 minutes.
While gently applying brakes, the vehicle sometime lunges forward and the brake pedal must be pressed harder to continue slowing at the same rate. A Nissan area technical representative drove the vehicle with me. I told him he was stopping too quickly to notice the problem. I never could get him to try it while stopping gently. It may be a situation related to the cvt transmission disengaging from engine braking and only happen on while downhill braking.
1. Brakes squeak in reverse horribly!!! always when rested a few hours as well as over night but never in forward. 2. One time hesitated to start. Kept cranking, after 2nd attempt , started, phew! would have been mighty embarassing at the party for a new vehicle not start! otherwise I like the s. U. V. . .
