Left visor keeps falling down causing restricted view. At first I thought I was the only one that had this complaint, but reading the bulletin boards it is a common problem. I feel this is a safety hazard which Nissan refuses to take responsibility for. I know two other owners that have encountered the same problem. One of the removed the visor because it was too expensive to fix. Could you please look into this. The interior is not listed on your choices so I picked body. Thank you so much.
At speeds from 15 mph and up to highway speeds driver sun visor is dropping down on minor bumps on the road covering driver visibilty.
The sun visor on the driver side will not stay up and falls into the line of sight while driving.
Drivers side visor failed to stay in the up position resulting in poor visibility.
Drver side sun visor drops suddenly while driving obstructing view. It drops again every time I hit a bump in the road.
This vehicle is only four years old with only 84000 miles, while driving I heard a loud sound coming from under the vehicle. I took the vehicle in to five towns Nissan they told me that I have a big problem, my transfer case is not good. The transfer case, seal-oil and seal- oil ring would be $2750. 82. Labor and tax would be bring it to $4074. 33. Now we all know owners of this very cute vehicle that it has a factory defect and we need more people like myself to come forth so the would have no choice but to recall these vehicles.
Driver side sun visor failed. Will not retract and stay up.
This is a 2007 Murano purchased new in 2008. On September 12, while driving at low speed (25 mph) the driver side visor lost its grip and fell to a hanging position. This is a hazard as it impairs visibility. I have researched the Nissan forums and found out this is a very common problem with Muranos dating back to 2004. However, despite thousands of complaints, I have not seen that a recall had been issued. It is very disturbing that the part/repair is really expensive.
The driver's side sun visor falls down and blocks the view of the driver. I used to keep my seat up high because I'm short, and it helped me have a better view of the road. I've lowered my seat because when the visor falls it completely blocks my view. The visor has started falling at least once every time I drive it. It even happens on the freeway, where the road is smooth.
The drivers side sun visor broke and will not stay in the up position. It falls down unexpectingly and causes the view of the driver to be blocked. This has happened on two occassions that almost caused a wreck. Nissan claims this is not covered under the warranty. There have been numerous complaints on the Nissan webiste because they will not recall this item. To replace the sun visor is $350-500.
The driver's side sun visor abruptly falls down obstructing the view of the driver. It happens now continuously.
Driver's side sun visor abruptly falls down abstructing the view of the driver.
Visor, driver side continually falls down.
Driver side sun visor falls down in front of drivers face while driving causing blocking of view. Visor will not stay in up position and constantly falls down. I have searched the internet and have seen that this is not an uncommon problem and there are many complaints about this. Nissan knows of the issue and is overcharging customer for the exact same product which has the same issue.
Normal bumps in road cause driver's side sun visor to drop and obstruct the driver's vision. Part appears to be un-available and/or way over priced for something that should not fail within the first seveal years of operation. Typical sun visors are priced from $50 to $200. Nissan want over $350. 00 for one.
2007 Nissan Murano sl. Driver's sun visor rotated down without warning and blocked driver's vision. Nearly caused a collision. Visor rotates on shaft and will not remain in the up position.
Driver side sun visor on 2007 Nissan Murano is broken, causing sun visor to flop down while driving car. This is a safety issue. It not only startles me while I am driving, but it also blocks my view of the road. The Nissan dealership in my area charges $404 for the part alone and an additional charge if they also install it. I have reported this to the Nissan motor corporation.
2007 Nissan Murano driver-side sun visor keeps falling down on it's own which is causing visibility distractions to driver.
I brought my car in for an oil change and when I picked up the car I was told my lift link was broken. I informed the dealer that it was not like that prior to bringing car in. He told me Nissan Murano had a history of this defect. I was never told of this defect. I question why the dealer failed to tell me this upon leasing the 2007 Murano and secondly how it just happened to break during a visit. The technician explained to the consumer that the lift link keeps the seat in a stable position. He then proceeded to show the consumer that the driver's seat was rocking from side to side and could be dangerous in case of an accident. The consumer stated there was nothing wrong with the seat, when the vehicle was dropped off at the dealer. The consumer also stated the driver's side visor would not stay in the upright position. The technician examined the visor and stated it was broken and needed to be replaced. Updated ivoq 08/12/jb.
Driver side sun visor does not stay in place. Nothing led up to this. One day it went from working perfectly to falling down for no reason. It occurs frequently and reduces my field of vision. I have not yet had it replaced but understand the cost is over $300. After doing an internet search have discovered that this is a well known defect that Nissan has done nothing to remediate.
The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that the front driver's sun visor would drop down and obstruct his vision while driving at various speeds. The vehicle was not taken to have the failure diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 50,000.
The drivers side sun visor falls down in my line of vision while driving, often.
This is another complaint about the driver's side sun visor that drops down unexpectedly. My daughter, who is just learning to drive, almost had an accident because she was startled when it dropped down. The cost to replace is over $300 so we are trying ways to keep it from dropping down. It should be a recall as it is a safety hazard. There are numerous complaints about this on the internet.
Driver's side sunvisor in 2007 Nissan Murano unexpectedly drops from stowed (up) position into line of sight.
I am filing a complaint on the sun visor. Both of the visors, driver side and passenger side would not stay up, flopped down, due to how outrageous the prices are, I have been velcro/hot gluing it to keep it up. It has been over two years and I just now succumbed to purchasing new visors. It is ridiculous that a consumer has to pay $386. 63 for parts that is clearly a defect from Nissan. Safety issue wise, our head hits the visors as it would not stay up. Nissan really need to have a recall on this issue and fix/repay what we have purchased. I am not the first and I know I will not the last to complain about this issue. I am seeking restitution, and I will go to any consumer complain site to spread this issue until there are results. Not a happy Nissan customer, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
2007 Nissan Murano s awd flopping sun visor is a safety hazard.
The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Murano. When the contact drove the vehicle approximately 35 mph, she noticed that the driver side sun visor would suddenly fall and distract her view. The vehicle was taken to the dealership where the contact had the sun visor replaced. The current and failure mileages were 64000.
My driver side sun visor does not stay in the up position. It droops down intermittent blocking sight of view. This is dangerous when I drive at night time when the sun visor is in the down position all the time. This is on a 2007 Nissan Murano. I was told that the repair/replacement will be ~$500 and the extended warranty does not cover for this defective part.
2007 Nissan Murano drivers sunvisor does not remain in retracted (stowed) position. Sunvisor rotates about pivot rod due to road vibration and completely blocks drivers view. This is extremely dangerous and is exacerbated with night time driving or in bad weather. This appears to be a defect in design of the sunvisor retract cam mechanism. The sunvisor unit cannot be repaired, it must be replaced and is prohibitively expensive. Nissan has been contacted directly and refuses to replace the component. An internet search has revealed many similar failures in multiple model years and 116 reports are on file with NHTSA as of this writing. This should be the subject of a safety recall before someone is killed by these defective sunvisors.
The visors will not stay in the up or stow position causing a safety issue for the driver. It will block the driver's vision when it falls. The Nissan motor corporation is aware of the problem but refuses to do anything about the problem without charging the owners of the vehicles. The Nissan Murano sl awd I own was very expensive and the dealer is wanting $300. 00 or more to repair the problem with no help with the cost from Nissan.
Driver side sun visor does not stay in down position. Even though vehicle has extended warranty, Nissan refuses to cover it. Visor has to be held by hand while driving to stay in correct position. If not held, then visor moves out of position sometimes blocking view of traffic lights and vehicles ahead.
2007 Nissan Murano drivers side sun visor keeps falling down, safety issue. I've read on forums and they have had this issue for quite a few years, and from what I've read they want to rip you off on price for a new one. You lose your total vision of the road when it falls. It falls very often, about every 5 minutes. This is a safety issue and should be a recall.
The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Murano. The contact was driving 50 mph when the driver side visor failed to stay in position. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the dealer confirmed the visor needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was contacted but the vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was unknown. The failure mileage was 30,000 and the current mileage was 45,000.
The sun visor on the drivers side of my 2007 Nissan Murano will not stay in the up position; therefore, causing me driving hazard. I contacted Nissan and they want $400 for the replacement part. After doing some research online, I am finding that there are many Murano owners experiencing the same problem. I believe that the part Nissan used must be defective. I even asked someone in my office that also owns a Murano and he too is having the exact same problem.
I have a problem with sunvisor in my Murano. I know it is really common problem in Muranos. As you realize it is safety issue. I hope it will be recall for sunvisor in Murano.
