The contact owns a 2019 Nissan Murano. The contact stated while driving 45 mph, the steering failed to turn in the intended direction. In addition, the contact stated that the steering wheel independently turned to the left or to the right. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was persistent. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where a front alignment was performed, and all four tires were replaced. The failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken to another independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with a failed forward collision program. The contact was informed that the forward collision avoidance software needed to be reprogrammed. The vehicle was not repaired.
