4 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/22/2016

Like so many others that I have been reading about . . . These radaitor tanks are horrible they crack and somehow are leaking coolant into the transmission causing further issues. . . Now I am upwards of 1000 dollars in repair cost. . . . It causes the 10amp at ecu fuse to blow everytime the car is started.

5 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/08/2016

Transmission control module fried due to contamination from the radiator fluid. Nissan was aware of contamination in transmission through the radiator and this contamination causes the control module in the transmission to short. Every time I want to start my vehicle I have to replace a 10amp fuse under the hood that will always blow every time I start it. Repair cost for a new control module are exceeding $4000 every place I go. Nissan should be responsible for repairs of their faulty design. Due to this defect my family was stranded, I had to leave my work and pick them up in below 30 degree temperatures.

6 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 11/06/2015

Overdrive in transmission makes car downshift or up shift causing major issues while driving! loss of control, accidents. . . . Blown transmission at this point.

7 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/15/2015

The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that while in park, the heater failed to function. In addition, the contact stated that the fluid in the radiator was milky. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 75,000.

8 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/17/2014

Defective radiator caused coolant contamination with transmission fluid.

9 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 09/16/2014

The front windows of the vehicle go down after you close the door with the beeper/ alarm. That happen several seconds after you close or open the car suddenly without any contact with the vehicle. It is very preoccupant because that happen some time without you notice it so if you are at a public parking your car is widely open.

10 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/10/2013

My vehicle began to drive sluggish as if it was going to cut off. When I got to my destination and tried to crank my truck to leave it would not say a word. I had my vehicle towed to the Nissan dealer in morrow for a diagnostics testing. I received a call the next day stating that the radiator and transmission had failed and it needed to be replaced in order to get the truck up and running. I explained to the dealer that I had m vehicle serviced less than a month ago and there was never an indication that my transmission was failing. They quoted me 6,100 to repair my truck. I had my vehicle towed and sent to aamco transmissions, where they diagnosed my truck as needing a enginecontrol module. My issue with Nissan is that there has been several complaints similiar to mine and they offered no help to resolve my problems. I would really like to speak to some one directly about my issues as there are too many to list here.

11 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 04/04/2013

Gas gauge does not reflect correct amount of fuel, no matter what the level. I have been re-setting trip mileage after fill-ups to have an approximate knowledge of fuel tank level. I am disabled and my vehicle ran out of gas yesterday.

12 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/22/2013

I bought a 2007 Pathfinder from a very reputable used car business, carmax almost 3 years ago. They are very well known in the area for thoroughly checking their vehicles before reselling. It had approx 59k miles on it and I've loved it until recently. I started experiencing heating problems awhile ago but my mechanic couldn't find anything wrong - he even checked the radiator. A few months ago, the transmission would shudder occasionally when I reached about 40 mph. At first it was very minor, I actually thought it was maybe grooves in the road, etc but the issue got worse. I brought it to the dealer and was told I need a new radiator and transmission - this is a widespread problem. I was also told flushing the transmission probably wouldn't help. The radiator is going to cost me $913 and because this is such a widespread problem, a new transmission was the only thing they could find at $7400! I still owe on this vehicle and am wondering how will I ever trade this in or even afford to fix it. Nissan won't help in any way, even by discounting the labor and parts and the class action settlement won't help either because my Pathfinder has 109k miles on it - 9k over the extended warranty Nissan issued. What a disaster. I'm a single mom with a young daughter and a mother I care for. I recently took my family to visit my sister in west virginia, you know - mountains. Imagine if something would've happened then. I had no idea all of this was going on and am now terrified to drive it. I've never received notification from Nissan that there was a potential issue - I would've brought it to the dealer immediately and been covered for repairs!!! this is a nightmare and Nissan should be held responsible in some way. Why aren't they standing behind their product at all!! do a couple of hundred people have to get hurt before something is done?.

13 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/12/2012

Left motel at 7am, vehicle seemed to have trouble shifting, high rpm. . Pulled over to check. . Would not start. . Towed to dealership.

14 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/29/2012

My Pathfinder was should have been slowing from the speed of as I was braking and letting off the gas, but it kept moving forward and shaking. If there was a car in front of me I would have hit them hard. My transmission would not shift down to slow down, due to radiator leaking into transmission. The cost of my repair of both radiator and transmission is over $5000.

15 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/22/2012

While driving with the ac on, my vehicle started to blast out hot air through the vents and overheat. My car has never ran hot before, I haven't had any problems since I've had it. I was able to pull over safely and let the car cool down. My husband removed the radiator cap and noticed a milky liquid in the radiator. We had to have the vehicle towed to a mechanic shop and they notified us of the recall on the Nissan (2005-2010 models) radiators. They said that it was a common problem that they have been seeing where the coolant mixes with the transmission fluids and cause a major repair problem. We have been told that the radiator, transmission, transmission kit, throttle, vial body, and torque converter will have to be replaced. I feel petrified to know that Nissan knew about this existing problem but refused to have these issues repaired rather than taking the easy way out and extending the warranty. We bought our truck brand new from the Nissan dealership and we also paid for the 5yr/100,000 mile warranty. I have had my truck for 5 yrs and 2 mths, something should have been done about this. We the consumers have trusted this brand for many years and we depend on our vehicles on a daily bases. My family and I were all in the vehicle when the incident happened we could have been seriously harmed in a high risk situation. We had the 90,000 mileage maintenance completed where they flushed the radiator, changed the transmission, & etc. And everything was fine. My husband have always taken my car in for timely maintenance and no one has ever mentioned the radiator issues.

16 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 06/02/2010

2007 Nissan Pathfinder se - fuel gauge not registering full tank, service light on, fuel sending unit malfunctioning causing to stall while driving on highway.

17 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 03/11/2010

Add gas to the tank the gauge will show empty for a while and then will gradually over one to two days get to the "right" amount in the tank. Tank does not reset show empty when fuel. Eventually reset to correct status the next does. Distance till empty does not reset. I found numerous complaints about this on the internet and the dealer acts like I am the first one to bring this issue to them. This creates a huge safety risk of not knowing what the correct volume is. Many Nissan owners are reporting this issue and nothing is being addressed.
