The front windows of the vehicle go down after you close the door with the beeper/ alarm. That happen several seconds after you close or open the car suddenly without any contact with the vehicle. It is very preoccupant because that happen some time without you notice it so if you are at a public parking your car is widely open.
Transmission fluid and radiator fluid mixing somewhere along the transmission coolant route, causing extensive damage to the transmission. Required replacement of both major items.
I have a 2007 Pathfinder with 79. 541 mile I have the same problem alot of people on this site has with the radiator leaking into the transmission, I took it to the dealership for a oil change and they told me I have a radiator creak that leaking into my transmission and its dangerous to drive I cant drive it at all and they have to replace the radiator and transmission because it has a mix of color like brown so they told me they going to order the part I ask them for a rental car because I was going on vacation until my truck get fix they said they was going to try to get me one that was on June 30th and on Thursday July 3th they call me to pick up my truck because the engine light didnt come on so they want me to drive it until the engine light go on, remember a few days ago they told me not to drive it because it was dangerous to drive I think they want me to drive so it can go over the 8 years / 80. 000 mile warranty and pay a copay of $2,500 and I really dont have that money and I'm still paying for the truck they want me to take it out of they dearlership like that, I'm scare to drive it I have a daughter and my dog I take with me and scare something its going to happen to us please help me anyone thank you.
Transmission failed, had to replace transmission, radiator, motherboard for computer inside transmission and had to have locksmith reprogram security system.
I purchased my Pathfinder used. With 78,000 miles and within 10 days of having it the transmission dropped completely. Well we took it to the dealer and demanded they make right. . They paid our extended warranty never paid for our rental car and never bothered to tell us there was a defect on my vehicle! we were driving and noticed the transmission slipping and the truck vibrating very loud and vigorously when going into 3rd or 4th gear at around 50 mph. But they had told me it was my imagination. Well 10 days from the day I drove it home I guess it wasn't just my imagination because we lost all acceleration power. The truck was running but wouldn't not move. Here I am a year later googling why my truck keeps screwing up and boy what do I find???? I'm very livid and can't believe that Nissan has decided to fatten their wallets instead of helping it's consumers and making things right. I had a new transmission and new radiator put in. And a year later I'm fighting the same problem all over again. If I'm idle or stay in one spot for a few minutes my truck is over heating and not only that but it's spewing coolant out the reservoir. I have had it in the shop numerous times and no one gives a crap! I was told it was an air pocket and I'm not stupid especially now that I'm reading all the other complaints. This makes me wonder how the government can allow this to continue going on. . I can't believe that no help is available to us and we are being screwed royally and our lives in danger because we are forced to drive a dangerous non reliable vehicle!!!!!!! make things right Nissan fix our vehicles or do a recall and give us our money for putting us through hell.
I am a very loyal Nissan/pathfinder owner. I'm on my second Pathfinder and always have my beloved 2007 serviced regularly at the puyallup Nissan dealership. Because I rely on my vehicle for work, I make sure to keep it current with all recommended services over the life of the vehicle. Until recently, ive been an extremely satisfied Pathfinder owner. Now, I am quite upset that a known defective radiator notice I received approximately a year ago, advised to do nothing if experiencing no problems, but now that I'm over the limit of 100k miles (115k), and experiencing the known radiator defect issue, I am now on the hook for the entire repair cost ($5000). . I purchased a used 2007 Nissan Pathfinder with extended warranty for my daughter on 12/28/13. Last week the check engine light came on. She made an appointment, arrived early and 5 hours later was told that a sensor needed to be replaced and suggested that she take it to a Nissan dealer as they had equipment specific to Nissan vehicles and her warranty covers the work at any dealership. She asked if the vehicle was safe to drive and was told yes. She drove two miles to a Nissan dealer spent another 2 hours there while they ran their own diagnostic tests. They determined that there was cross contamination in the radiator. Not only did her radiator need to be replaced but so did her transmission. She was further told that her vehicle was unsafe to drive. The called the warranty company who indicated that the radiator wasn't covered and therefore the transmission wasn't covered as it was caused by the radiator. My daughter drove back to auto nation again and asked to speak to the general manager. She was told he wasn't in and the used car sales manager would speak to her. I left work and went over to help her. I also asked for the general manager, was asked what it was about, I said I would prefer speaking directly to the gm and was told the same thing as my daughter. The used car sales manager reluctantly agreed to replace the radiator and flush the transmission twice he indicated that would solve the problem. She picked up the SUV today and 2 blocks later the check engine light came on. She went back to auto nation and was told by the used car manager that there was no way he was paying $3500 to replace the transmission. He told her to just drive with the check engine light on. This is so wrong! to send a 22 year old off in an unsafe vehicle. This was apparently a known issue on this make/model & year. Nissan even extended the warranties because of the issue.
When the car reaches speed of 45 mph, it begins to jerk and vibrate and a loud noise starts. If I press the overdrive button to turn it off, the car smooths out. If I do not turn the overdrive off, once I lower speed or accelerate, it stops vibrating. Diagnosis from mechanic is coolant has leaked into my transmission fluid. Car should have new radiator and transmission put in.
This vehicle was bought from dealer early 2010 with around 40,000 miles. There was no knowledge of a manufacturing design defect inside of the radiator. A leakage due to an internal tube inside the radiator causes transmission fluild to be cross-contaminated and become mixed then over time destroys both the transmission and radiator. Nissan manufacturer won't help with repairing this problem. On top of that, the mileage makes me ineligible for extended warranty. It is 10 years/100,000 miles which ever comes first. Help me please!!!! I don't have $10,000 to pay for this repair when its not my fault. This is a manufacturer defect and they don't have an official recall on this problem but an out of reach warranty. Failure happens after 100,000 miles mostly.
My 2007 Nissan path finder was recently was diagnosed with a complete failure to the transmission due to a failure of the "radiator assembly" that failed and allowed water to get inside the transmission containment and this caused catastrophic failure to the transmission. Requiring now that the whole transmission needs to be replaced. The only warning I got was the failure warning light from my car, and at that point its already damaged. Looking for an explanation I turned to Nissan and I learned that this is recognized by Nissan defect and thought my vehicle hasn't been completely abandon by Nissan corp. I still have to contribute $2. 5k towards repairs for a known failing design, that fixing it could have prevent the much more costly result of leaving it as is. What happened to Nissan standing by their product and making good on poor design? even whats more is that I was mailed a letter regarding a class action reimbursement in legal lingo that I didn't fully understand and felt it didn't apply to me since id have no expenses. Yet it now makes sense as to what its purpose was. . It was to monetarily reimburse those with Nissan's at my similar age and millage for repair they preformed due to admitting it was a faulty design. I cant help but wonder what harm would it have been to publish an advisory letter and allow the consumer the right to make repair prior to a complete failure. Additional Nissan consumer affairs dept. Need a personality training as thay are unable to say anything unless it is pre-scripted for them. I'm beginning to rethink my forth vehicle purchase to not be a Nissan.
I always take my car in for service at glendale Nissan and so last year in July of 2013 I asked were there any recall on my car I was told no. So in Feb of this year2014 I started experiencing some problems with me heat inside the car. They checked it and told me my transmission fluid was mixing with my coolant and I needed to replace both and its gonna cost me $5600. I asked was there a recall on this and I was told yes and my car wasnt covered because of the milage. I instantly got upset because I always take my car in for service to this dealership. I was told I could try to replacing the radiator and drain the transmission but that was no guarantee how long the car would work. I did just that . . Now my car is staying idle while driving and it wont idle down for a period of time. I tried calling the 1800nissan1 number and explain my problem and they told me they can't help me and nothing they could do. This is so wrong! I've spent so much money at this dealership its ridiculous. Ive replaced my computer, belts, hoses, spark plugs, oil changes, drain mt transmission fluid. So much I cant even remember everything. If they know that this is happening to these cars and put out a recall for this how can they get away with this! im a single parent of 5 children there's no way I can afford this!! and this is my only car I have for transportation!! this is just plain wrong! they shouldn't be allowed to get away with this!.
The fluids of the radiator and transmission mixed. 3 mechanics and a Nissan dealer said its a known issue between 2005~2007. And no recalls we're being issued. I had a diagnostic test done at antwerpen Nissan done when my Pathfinder was running. I have had a 95 sentry, I have a 09 versa, I have talked my mother in law into a Nissan altima, as well as my step mom. My husband has talked a couple of his CO workers into a Nissan also. I want to know why there has been no recalls on a "well kept secret" as that is what I was told.
Car loses power, shutters, has high rmp without acceleration, skips gears, stalls. Had radiator replaced ($1,200), but didn't solve the problem. Was told a new transmission is needed due to coolant mixing with transmission fluid and damaging transmission and components ($4,500).
Transmission failed due to faulty radiator in our 2007 Nissan Pathfinder. Our 17 year old son was driving on a very busy interstate late Sunday June 16th, 2013. The car's transmission failed suddenly with no known notice. Luckily he was able to steer of the side of the road until assistance could come. This is an issue that Nissan is definitely aware of. They will not recall these radiators while fully knowing that the transmission of all 2005 through 2010 Pathfinders will eventually fail leaving their consumers at a safety risk. The replacement of all radiators and transmissions are only covered up to 80,000 miles or 8 years, whichever comes first. After that, the consumer is on the hook for repairs. Please help to have these radiators recalled!.
Radiator failed, leaking antifreeze into transmission. This mixing of antifreeze and transmission fluid caused transmission to fail my Pathfinder is now in a parking spot. I owe payments on a vehicle I can no longer drive, nor afford to repair.
At about 50 to 60 mph the transmission downshifts constantly to a lower gear and the rpm shoots up to 4000 or so, I have to accelerate to 75 for it to give me a higher gear. These happens to me constantly.
My Nissan Pathfinder radiator coolant leaked into the transmission, I got an extend warranty and now the extended warranty is not covering it due to radiator coolant leaked to the transmission and it not a cover benefit now I'm screw.
Vehicle's transmission started slipping at certain speeds. Got a trans flush hoping it would improve. Problem returned. Service engine light came on. Took to garage and had a new wiring harness put on. Problem returned. Got stranded and had vehicle towed. Determined that coolant was in the transmission fluid. Huge repair bill. Part of the class action suit now but am still out $2500. Probably started occuring before 80,000 miles and had I been more investigative at that time, bill would have been covered because it was under 80,000. Now it's over that amount and I am out of luck. Huge disappointment in Nissan!.
The issue is with a 2007 Pathfinder. While applying the brakes, the engine starts to race and there is a sudden acceleration. Twice I have incurred substantial damage to the front end of the vehicle. If a stationary object had not been in the way (poles), the vehicle would have continued to plow forward. My foot was firmly on the brake pedal in both instances but the car continued forward while the engine was racing (sounded like your foot was actually on he gas pedal and puposely racing the car). My Nissan service personnel said they could not detect anything wrong with the vehicle whent hey checked it the first time. The second time this happened, I got rid of the vehicle. Thankfully, nobody was injured. Happening once was enough, but twice? in certain instances, I have also noticed while at a traffic light, for example, I could feel the brake pedal moving closer to the floor like the system was losing pressure.
The radiator has leaked coolant into the transmission and now the truck doesn't start. The transmission no longer works and neither does the radiator due to a faulty wire between the radiator and transmission. Nissan knows all about the defect but refuses to recall it.
When slowing down or speeding up between about 30-50 mph, the vehicle transmission felt like it was slipping. After much research and several hundred dollars of work come to find out that the radiator is faulty causing cross-contamination between engine coolant and transmission fluid. I am aware there is an ongoing investigation into this matter as well as a class action law suit pending. I have spent significant money to troubleshoot and replace what was needed (radiator and multiple transmission flushes) and feel I should be reimbursed as well as have a more thorough inspection and additional repair/replacement if needed. I am concerned that the engine is now damaged due to transmission fluid being in there and possibly the transmission. Both of which may be future problems that materialize down the road. Something should be done to make this right for the many Nissan customers.
Hit dear was driving at about 50 miles per hour, damaged fog light and fender and started to make noise after started back driving and hit 40 mph.
I purchased my 2007 Nissan Pathfinder brand new. . I just paid it off last year. . Ive been feeling like something was wrong with the shifting for some time. . But no one could find anything. . . Well as I was driving down the road it just did not want to shift. . Starting heating when I went over 60 mph. I took it to a specialist and come to find out the radiator is leaking coolant into my transmission. . Im at 3500. 00 in just parts right now. . Than I go online and see all these other poor families that have had the same thing happen. . All Nissan had to do was let us know there was a problem with the leakage. . This makes me sick. . I worked hard to pay this vehicle off. . Now instead of taking my kids on vacation I will be paying for my vehicle to be repaired. . Nissan totally denies any problem, however when you call the dealership they will try and sell you an updated radiator. . Why does it need to be updated if they are saying nothing was wrong with the old one?? something needs to be done. We put our trust in a product and it failed us and now they want more money from us. . This is wrong. . I beg for any assistance and that someone step in and make Nissan pay for what they are doing to people. . Families work to hard for their products to have to be treated the way Nissan is treating us. . And no one seems to be listening. . . I want answers. . If I sold a product and there was a defect I would fix the problem,. . . Not try and cover it up with making my consumer by another part from me. . .
Radiator leaked into transmission, causing both to go out. Repeatedly took my car to the dealer to diagnose problem but they had no knowledge of the radiator-transmission issue. Once my car finally died I was forced to repair on my own with no help from Nissan. I was too far over miles to be included in their "customer satisfaction program" which only covered cost over $3,000 and under 100,000 miles. I spent $4,360. 00 out of pocket to replace transmission and bypass radiator.
2007 Nissan Pathfinder. . . We started experiencing transmission issues(slipping) while on highways at speeds of 65 to 70 causing vehicle to loose gear/power. In most of the incidents our vehicle was loaded with my kids and wife and were forced to immediately pulled off the freeway to avoid being rear-ended(causing accident). We experienced 4 incidents in 2012 when vehicle had over 75000 miles. Latest costly incident took place 3 weeks ago. . My wife lost power again as driving off freeway, pulled into a shopping center, turned car off. . . . Allowed a few minutes and tried starting it again but it was completely dead, no cranking at all. Local shop diagnosed issues with electrical computer unit and transmission. . . . Got alarmed, searched online for possible recalls/defects. Sure enough I found many links to complaints and class lawsuit in 2012. I contacted dealer. . . Two dealer diagnostics reflected a bad body control module(computer unit) and bad transmission due to radiator fluid into transmission. . . . I already new this. Reading complaints online it appears that these two issues are associated with the recall/defects but dealer is treating the two separately costing me over $3400. I will challenge them on treating these two as separate issues. Why Nissan has failed to notified customers about these issues/deffects? these failures could have caused us an accident! proper notification from Nissan could have save us these $3400+ in repairs. Why is Nissan waiting until vehicles are completely out of service? why do us, consumers have to cover part of their mis-engineering? I highly recommend an investigation against Nissan and make them accountable. . . . My family cannot afford to pay for their mistakes and negligence!.
Vehicle jerks violently at 50 mph and 70mph. Multiple incidents where vehicle has lost all acceleration power in freeway. Near missed accidents. Valve body is flooded and vehicle does not start anymore.
Going overbridge overpass started shaking violently starting at 40 mph causing me to swerve into next lane Nissan claims its trans problem from radiator bypass and that its not a safety issue!!!!!!.
