5 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/21/2016

The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder. While driving 20 mph, the vehicle stalled. The failure occurred while driving various speeds and after being driven approximately 10-20 miles. The vehicle was able to be restarted; however, the failure recurred. The contact also stated that the fuel gauge read 1/4 of a tank or empty after being completely fueled. The contact noticed that the failure only occurred when the vehicle was fueled over a half of a tank. The contact stated that the last time this occurred, the service engine light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel level sensor circulator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was 57,000.

The contact stated that the fuel tank was filled to capacity approximately two days prior to the failure. The failure recurred continuously. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure and the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 10v075000 (fuel system, gasoline). The approximate failure mileage was 142,000.

8 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/05/2015

After my wife had difficulty trying to unlock the driver door using the thumb button, she had to result in using the key fob. . . Then while driving to work she was about to get on the freeway when she noticed the fuel gauge was reading empty. She pulled into the nearest service station to fill up but was only allowed to put in 3 gallons. Then the gauge read full. I had filled it the day before. After work she needed to pick up friends at the airport and tried to use the rear ac but it would only blow hot air. . . . . Now where to find out if these issues along with the air bags can be fixed. . . Such a hassle to deal with the dealer for items like these that should be warranty type fixes. What is a consumer to do?.

9 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 09/23/2014

Tire pressure sensors, problem stated in December 2013, I took it to the dealership for more than 10 times. They said they've tried everything but the indicator light wouldn't go away. I have paid for replacement and still the indicator light wouldn't go away. I have failed my state inspection due to this issue. The dealership said they've replaced the sensors but the lights indicators will not go away.

12 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/16/2013

We purchased a used 2008 Nissan Pathfinder from campbell/nelson on hwy 99 edmonds washington a couple years ago. We were not told the gas gage did not work found out by nearly being stuck without gas in traffic in December we had to take it through the emission test exam. Here in washington state only to fail because of a bad gas sensor. We took it to campbell nelson where they gave us a waiver for this year so we could get our lic. Tabs renewed but in order to correct this problem will cost us $700. Had we been told of this when we bought the car we would not have.

13 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/05/2011

Previous to this, I had received a notification for a "recall" on my truck which was taken to their service department to correct. On February 5th 2011 I took my 2006 Nissan Pathfinder for engine light going on. They told me my truck was under warranty. I am under the allowed mileage and my truck is to be returned on June 1st 2011. I was charged a wopping $581. 26 for a piece that only cost $41. 79. I had also put down on this vehicle at time of lease $4,517. 00. Considering this car had a recall, and engine light went on after, I should not have to had pay this amount. I will never lease from them again. I feel I was ripped off and I should be reimbursed my $581. 26. I kept copies of all for legal purposes. Please help resolve this matter.

14 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 04/04/2010

Our Nissan problems started years ago. In 2010 I started noticing noise and shuddering coming from the transmission. I brought it in to the dealer and they said it was nothing more than it needed a flush of the transmission fluid. So I paid the $150, had it done and went on my way. In 2011 is started doing it again, had it checked and they said nothing was wrong with it I must have been hearing things. They test drove it numerous times and 'never heard anything'. Eventually they had a specialist come and look at my car. He determined that my a/c unit needed to be reset. Everything seemed to be fine and we went on our merry way. Flash forward to July 2013. On the way home from a road trip, about 3 hours from our house we started noticing it was getting hot in the car. Sure enough the air just started blowing out hot air. Everything still worked on the a/c, just blowing hot air. So we drove home sweating our a$$ off in mid-summer in FL. A day or 2 later we are driving down the road and the service engine light came on (1st time ever in this car). Husband thought he should shut the car off. . . Well, that was the last time my car ever worked. We had it towed to a mechanic where it sat there for 2 weeks. First he determined it was a blown fuse - great, $10! - went to pick it up and it blew again. He then determined it was a broken computer told us to tow it to Nissan. We did. It has been there for a week and we were just told that the trans & radiator fluids mixed and caused trans to seize causing a/c and electrical issues as well. They claim they've never heard of this before. . . Yea, right! Nissan won't do anything but has told us to call the class action lawsuit # and file a complaint. . . Oh and they'll give me $500 for a car that's worth $6,000+. They knew about this issue and never told me about it in the years that I brought up the issue. Beware of Nissan!.
