Accelerating from a stop, or increasing speed from a turn, the car sputters, power fluctuates, and sometimes it vibrates and feels like I am driving over a grid. Shifting is rough while driving, and the car sometimes feels like it's going to stall, or like I'm driving a standard transmission and I've left off the clutch too soon. The problem has been ongoing and started inconsistently.
There is a problem with the cvt automatic transmission. I reported the problem when I first bought the car from carmax and was sent to Nissan for a reset. No issue was found at that time. The car is shuttering and stalling out while I am driving full speed. This has happened on the interstate/freeway as well as other busy roads leaving myself and my child stranded and in near accidents. Nissan refuses to help with this part. It should 100% be a recall. Instead, Nissan issued an extended warranty that I was not notified about and expired two weeks, July 31, 2020 before I contacted Nissan with the worsening issue. They would not honor the extended warranty because my car had 98,000 miles instead of 80,000/ I have only had the car four years, I am financially struggling because of the pandemic, and making payments on a car that I cannot drive. There are hundreds of complaints about Nissan's faulty cvt transmissions. Please help!!!!! this started again two weeks into August when I initially contacted Nissan. There has always been an undiagnosed transmission issue. These should be replaced as recalls or deemed lemons. I bought the vehicle November of 2016.
When driving the vehicle it stalls when pressing the gas to accelerate. When at a stop or turning when switching from braking to accelerating you have to press the gas several times to get the car to accelerate. Nissan consumer affairs will not assist and the dealership cannot replicate. I dont know what to do.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. While driving 60 mph, the vehicle lost power and stalled. The check engine indicator illuminated and the vehicle was coasted to the side of the road. The gear shifter failed to move out of park and the steering wheel seized. The contact waited five minutes and was able to resume driving. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the brakes and battery failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and the failure recurred. The dealer stated that the transmission failed and needed to be replaced. In addition, the rear door failed to open. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 43,000.
Vehicle stalls at various times while driving, will not accelerate while pressing on gas pedal. Has now happened 6 times in 3 months. Stalled also, while on cruise control going downhill and would not engage until on level surface for 15 seconds, lost 35 mph during this incident. Passenger side front airbag light is illuminated indicating that no one is in seat while seat is occupied. I have several photos and dates of this particular problem.
My 2013 Pathfinder studders like it's not getting gas. It has completely stalled while driving in busy traffic. I took it to the dealership which stated they could not get it to duplicate the problem. This can happen on inclines and when I got to stop or slow down then go to accelerate against it studders really bad. It sometimes will not start due to not recognizing the key fob.
My Pathfinder has already had the transmission replaced once and is still having issues. Since this past Thursday, it has been hesitating or feeling like it is in neutral when it is in drive. I took note of the latest one today. I was stopped (on a major street) waiting for oncoming traffic to pass. It did, and I accelerated to turn left and the car felt like I had put it in neutral. It was slowly rolling but not accelerating as I crossed over the on-coming lane and continued with my left turn. I check to see if it was in drive (it was) and checked the speed (20mph) because I had brought it in last week when it did it the first three times, and they asked me what speed I was going when it happened. The time prior to that I was changing lanes on the highway (infront of a large truck) at about 50 mph and when I went to accelerate, I got the same feeling. I could have been killed! the time prior to that, I had been at a red light. When the light changed, I crossed over the first section of the red light then turned left and attempted to accelerate but it (again) felt like I had thrown it into neutral. I pulled to the side of the road for a second to let other cars pass in case it stalled on me. The first time was just when driving down the road. This has me extremely scared as in two of the situations, I could have been killed if I couldn't accelerate to move and a car plowed into me.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that while driving 45 mph, the vehicle stalled. The contact did not take the vehicle to a dealer or mechanic for a diagnostic test. The failure mileage was 14,000.
Bought my Pathfinder in August 2013 I love it!!! but noticed that the passenger airbag light illuminated when my son (119 pounds) sit's in the seat. This happen often. I pull over all the time turn off the SUV and restart several times until it goes off. Nissan finally did a recall on it but it has not gone away. Also it used to illuminate when I set my diaper bag on it which is supposed to but now after the recall "fix" it does not illuminate when something light weight is set on it. It has a mind of it's own and I am worried that it could possibly fail if we were to get into a collision. I have taken it in several times to check it but it always comes up as working properly. Please find a fix for this issue. The other issue I have found is when accelerating there is some kind of tugging/pulling/lagging feeling as if it does not want to pick up speed. It does however pick up speed but the "tugging" feels as if the SUV is going to stall out. What it this???.
Upon acceleration, the transmission seems to stall for a brief moment. This is happening more frequently now and stalls a little longer each time upon acceleration.
About 4 â½ hours into our return trip on Friday, March 29, I was driving on i295 around the city of richmond, va. We were in heavy traffic travelling about 75 mph when our car backfired. My wife and I looked at each other, and nothing seemed to happen to the car. So we continued driving thinking the backfire was a noise from a source other than our car. However, when I braked shortly thereafter because of traffic buildup the car stalled at 40 mph. I was stunned but quickly responded by restarting the car. From that point on the car repeatedly stalled each time we braked and/or reduced speed.
