When I push on break it doesn’t engage to release car from park.
My abs system seems to trigger a warning when using the brakes and the car has a loss of power when accelerating this is especially dangerous on roads merging with traffic. I will restart the car the next day and the abs light turns off and works fine. This seems to happen intermittently and is a safety concern for my family in the car.
Vehicle gets stuck in park. The gear will not shift into drive, reverse, or neutral. Will not move from park even though the car is on. Brake lights deploy when brake pedal is pushed but car will not move from park position.
After changing rear break pads. I started having issues with the abs. The car goes into anti skid mode with abs decelerating the car. On highway the car vibrates while applying breaks. Upon taking back to the same dealership. The service team said it has nothing to do with the break changes and upon checking c1142 code came up. The pressure switch sensor issue. The service team flushed the break fluid a few times and asked me to use to vehicle and report for any such issues. I am reaching out the NHTSA to check if anyone else has report a faulty pressure switch. This was little scary a we had recently went on a long drive with the kids and the driving was bit rough and tough.
Defects shifter assembly, cvt transmission, brakes, kraft Nissan invoice 317628 12-13-2019. Aamco blu steel automotive repair order j004629 transmission cvt, dtc p1 cvt judder, b2603 shift position, hvac sun load sensor.
When I driving my vehicle at the time to accelerate my car just do not response. . . I press the acceletor pedal to the floor and still with no power. . . This happened to me many times in the highway and a local roads. . . . I just panicked. . . I feel unsafe in my car now,I may finished rear ended on the road.
My VIN number did not show in recall however over 80,000 vehicles had same problem I am having. The break light switch, electrical relay is sticking and caused break lights to be on when car is turned off and I am not in the car. Then when driving break lights come on and I am not pressing the breaks. Also the car would not go when should and I have to hit the gas paddle again to make it move. Scary getting on the freeway.
The brakes appear to be hard to apply . They appear to be hard to grasp and they are shaky when applying.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. While the vehicle was stopped at a red light, the brake pedal traveled down to the floorboard when very light pressure was applied. The vehicle was taken to faulkner Nissan harrisburg (3925 paxton st, harrisburg, PA 17111, (717) 558-8220) where the contact was informed that there were no failures after test driving the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 72,000.
When braking, I have to push the brake pedal to the floor in order to come to a complete stop and to keep the vehicle from rolling at stop lights. Even when the pedal does not go all the way to the floor, the brakes are "soft". Many times, the brakes do not seem to start working until the pedal is pressed down about 3/4 of the way to the floor. Speed does not seem to be a factor, the brakes just don't work. Upon releasing the brake pedal, there is a high-pitched squeal that can only be heard inside the vehicle. I have taken the vehicle to Nissan 4 times for this issue with no permanent resolution. I have noticed that there are a significant number of complaints regarding this issue with this vehicle. It seems that Nissan will not address this issue without the federal government stepping in, be it NHTSA or the courts - most of us cannot afford to go the the legal route as we're spending too much on "band-aid" repairs at Nissan. Please take some action on this matter, too many lives are at stake. We'll never have zero fatalities when a manufacturer is allowed to produce unsafe vehicles without being held responsible for their actions. At a minimum, Nissan should be forced to recall the affected vehicles to either solve the problem or find a way to get their dangerous vehicles off of our roads without penalizing the consumers that trusted Nissan to provide a safe vehicle.
We recently replaced the transmission under warranty and now the vehicle will not shift from park. The override from the brake pedal to the transmission does not function. Don't know if this is a solenoid or mechanical issue. Dealership says replace mechanism and see if this $1000 fix corrects situation.
Nissan Pathfinder 2013 revs engine and jerks vehicle while firmly pressing brake (at a stop light). At first, I thought it was just the wind, but it kept happening for weeks. Then I noticed the rpms jump when it happened. Furthermore, the vehicle would slowly roll forward if stopped on a hill, requiring pressing the brake pedal all of the way to the floor. Just yesterday, it revved and jerked about a dozen times. The vehicle has the latest recalls done as of April/may when I took in in for service (rosen Nissan) and they verified the brake system was ok. Vehicle should not be revving and trying to turn tires while it is stopped.
Few weeks ago, I received a recall letter number NHTSA recall 16v-244. I called Nissan dealer at sw freeway to make an appointment to fix the problem. They told me there is no part to fix it yet. I called the dealer second time one week after the first time. They told me the same answer. I received the second recall today 7/30/2016 with different problem. The recall number NHTSA recall 16v-380. I called the Nissan dealer right after I received the second recall. They told me there is no part to fix the problem. I am really concern and worry about these. The second recall is regarding about "the brake stop lamp switch may have been installed out of specification". I think this is very dangerous and risky for the drivers and the passengers. Who are responsible for the injury or the death of the drivers and passengers (especially for myself and my family members)? please solve these recall ASAP before the issue occur. Thanks!.
I was notified of a recall for the brakes top lamp switch & passenger air bag detection. I took my truck into the dealership & was notified there was nothing they could do because Nissan had not given them the necessary parts to fix the defects. So what happens if I have an accident as a result of this defect?.
After less than 20000 miles on new Pathfinder, rear brakes and tires needed replacement, were down to minimal safe manufacturers specification, verified independently by 2 auto repair places. Both service locations called this kind of wear excessive.
While I was told that this had happened previously in the vehicle (around June 22, 2015), I experienced it on 7/6/15. I was traveling on the highway at @ 68 mph. I slowed to take an offramp left onto a connector and pressed the accelerator to regain speed. There was no response; the accelerator had no power--even when pressed to the floor. The car began to lose speed. It was a busy time of day, and there was a car behind me. I took my foot off the accelerator and pressed it again; this time it was responsive. In addition to the loss of power, the car 'hitched' as I was driving and braking, and the abs and traction control lights came on. This happened multiple times afterwards--not just on turns. On 7/7, I called Nissan service. I did not drive the car again until they fit me in (thurs. , 7/9). The drive train is still under warranty, and I was informed that there was a crt reprogramming recall that needed to be done, but it had nothing to do with what was happening, so they would run multiple diagnostics at $125 or more a piece. After multiple diagnostics and a technician driving my car 44 miles, service "could not duplicate concern," did not know of any like problems with the car, had performed the recall, and sent me home at no charge (?) on 7/10. Afterwards, I did not drive the car for several days. On 7/16, it seemed safe, and my daughter was driving with me in the passenger seat. It happened again--on a busy road! the abs and traction control lights came on too. We stopped; I took a picture, immediately emailed it to service, & switched drivers. There's no response yet. Nissan online forums are full of 2013 Pathfinder (and Nissan crt model) owners experiencing the exact same problems, being told similar things, and having transmissions (crt) replaced but it happening again. Nissan won't acknowledge what seems to be a widespread problem with the crt & this model.
I have experienced an increased in brake, every time I hit slightly the gas pedal on my 2013 Nissan Pathfinder platinum. . And I was driving around 15 to 20 miles/hour, I don't know why Nissan has put in the market a car with so many bugs.
While driving my 2013 Pathfinder at slow speeds, the vehicle would lose power and not accelerate. It has happened about 10+ times in the last two weeks. The latest time I was making a left hand turn yielding to on coming traffic. The vehicle would not accelerate and stalled in the middle of oncoming traffic. The Pathfinder was moving about 5-10 mph. The oncoming vehicle approaching had to slam on their brakes so they didn't hit us (I had 6 kids in the car). The Pathfinder then kicked in and stalled at the following light around 1/4 mile down the road. It is intermittent and hasn't happened since. Pathfinder is currently at the dealer and they say that they have it fixed by a brake switch replacement. The regional consumer specialist from Nissan na assigned to us stated he was not aware of any acceleration problems at all in Pathfinders.
I was driving my car into a gravel driveway, I braked on the pavement to make my turn, turning into the gravel driveway, when I pressed on the brake pedal to slow the car, I had absolutely no brakes. The car would not stop. I had to quickly turn the car to avoid hitting another vehicle and a building, and had to slam the transmission into park to get the vehicle to stop. I contacted the dealership, advised them of the issue, as they were over an hour away, they sent someone with a trailer to come pick up the car. During this time, I also advised them of the passenger airbag light coming on while I had a passenger in the seat, stating that the airbag was off. My passenger was my teenage son, weighing over 120 lbs. I also had my husband in the seat, over 250 lbs, the light still came on. Nissan stated this was all due to a computer issue, they provided me with a loaner car as I was without my car for over 1 week. They even tried to sell me the loaner car, this should tell a person something right?? I have had weather stripping come off my car while I am driving, around the driver side roof, paint is peeling on the rear bumper, sometimes the car won't recognize my key fob to start, stating incorrect key id. The car stalls, hesitates, smokes, transmission "jerks", like it wants to give up, the ac does not blow cold air, sometimes its even warm. I will not let anyone drive my car for fear that it will stall out or not stop. Sometimes, when you press the gas pedal, the car will not move, or it hesitates to move. I have another recall to have repaired, the hood latch. . . With the dealership over an hour away, working full time, they only repair recalls during the week, how am I supposed to have it fixed, when the hood latch fails and I wreck? seriously, recall the vehicle, it has so many safety recalls, its just not safe.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated while driving at approximately 25 mph, the brake pedal seized causing a multiple vehicle crash. A police report was filed. The number of injuries was unknown. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the problem. The failure mileage was 11,000.
We first got a recall notice, and took the vehicle to the dealership. I asked them that other than the recall I needed them to see why the brakes on the vehicle squeak on occasions. They said everything was good and that the brakes didn't have anything. When my wife got in a vehicle collision a couple of days ago she had my 2 dauthers 3 and 4 with her. The airbags in our vehicle didn't deploy and the other vehicles did. My wife was going 15 mph but the other vehicle was going about 65 mph. Thanks to god nobody in the vehicle got severely hurt other than scratches and bruses. The vehicle was not totaled and will be repaired, I am really concern for my family's safety driving this vehicle.
I have a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder, bought it on January 2013, the past 4 months, I noticed the front end of the car shaking, I had previously brought the car in for 3 months check up, clay Nissan rotated the tires and since then the brakes felt like shaking, I mentioned the error to them, but they said it's okay, today I brought it back for the recall- the car appears like it wants to cut off suddlenly and they are telling me I need rotars in the front and the back, to me this appears to be a defect in the rotars- there is no way a 2013 car needs rotars in the front and the back.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that while traveling 38 mph, the brake pedal hardened and would not engage even after double pumping the brakes with the anti lock brake activated. The contact mentioned that the stopping distance increased to 100 feet. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 18,000 and the current mileage was 18,600.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. While driving various speeds, the vehicle began to vibrate in a jerking motion. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician diagnosed that the front driver side wheel bearing needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. The wheel bearing was replaced four times on separate occasions. In addition, both front and rear brakes were replaced three times. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 27,000.
Tl-the contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 mph, the transmission began to jerk and slip gears. The failure recurred whenever the vehicle was in operation. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and repaired under a manufacturer's voluntary recall related to reprogramming the transmission control unit. In addition, the front and rear passenger side wheel bearing were replaced on two separate occasions. The front and rear brakes were also replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 8,000. Js.
Wow, I am one upset consumer, after notifying Nissan consumer affairs several times about the concern of the safety on my Pathfinder and numerous trips to service only to be told that my car was fine. I now have had an auto accident due to the failure of my brand new Pathfinder and Nissan not even attempting to try to take me seriously about my concerns of the safety of this vehicle. This is lawsuit type material and I am now having to cover the damages to my car and 2 others and pay for a rental out of pocket. I am extremely upset and this has caused me and my family huge distress all for just buying what was supposed to be a reliable vehicle from a top auto maker. The issue was due to faulty brake/pedal and the issue before was for a faulty acceleration and spudering. Why cant Nissan just acknowledge this as major issue before someone gets killed? there is over 200 complaints of the same issue that I incurred only that Nissan has not a done a thing. If they do not take care of this issue to my standards, I will be taking this the furthest I can. This is so upsetting and time consuming. Shame on Nissan for not taking care of their product and consumer.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 mph the brake pedal was engaged abruptly and there was a delayed response. The vehicle crashed into the rear end of another vehicle. There were no injuries. A police report was filed. The entire front end of the vehicle was damaged. The vehicle was taken to a collision center and currently being repaired. The contact discovered there was a recall associated with NHTSA campaign id number 13v139000 (service brakes). The VIN was included in the recall and the contact planned to have the remedy repair performed after the body damage was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 12,500.
After purchasing the vehicle new in November 2013, I noticed a problem with the anti-lock braking system. After almost getting into an accident with my wife and 2 children in the vehicle, I went to the dealer service dept on Jan 29 2013 and explained that "at times about once to twice a month, when I apply the brakes, the vehicle will not stop properly and only slowed down. The service dept. Kept the vehicle, only to return it and said they cannot duplicate the problem. The condition persisted only once to twice a month. I stated on a oil service that this issue still persisted. On October 21, 2013 I was traveling to work on a major bridge when all traffic came to a halt. My vehicle just went over one of the bridge's metal expansion joints which is a little bump when I needed to brake. My approx speed was 30 mph at the time I needed to stop. Again, with the slight bump in the road and applying the brakes, the vehicle would not stop and I rear-ended the vehicle in front of me. As I swerved right into the middle lane to avoid a total domino effect of rear-ending vehicles, I was the t-boned by another oncoming vehicle. All of my side curtain airbags deployed and damage was to my driver's side front and entire passenger side. An estimate of $19,000. 00 was figured by the insurance adjuster. 2 days after the accident on October 23, 2013, Nissan issued a total recall of the 2013 Pathfinder. The recall stems from a flaw in the antilock brake system software. The bulletin says that "in the affected vehicles, during light braking on rough roads, the antilock brake system (abs) brake pressure output software may lead to an increase in stopping distance". And of course, the longer it takes to stop a vehicle, the greater the likelihood of a crash. I have contacted Nissan corporate consumer affairs on October 24, 2013 and am still awaiting a return phone call.
While driving at around 10 to 15mph while trying to stop at a red light the vehicle brake pedal got hard and would not stop. After applying really hard pressure on brake pedal abs started to work and my car stopped inches before striking another vehicle that was stopped at the light. Took car to dealer and they said they could not replicate the problem and that everything was fine. I escalated the issue to Nissan USA and I am currently waiting to hear back from them. Car is currently still sitting at dealership as I feel unsafe in driving it.
Tl- the contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated while traveling at any speed the acceleration pedal was not accelerating upon pressing the pedal intermittently. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who replaced the transmission, the brake switch twice and the failure recurred. The authorized dealer had also adjusted the brake switch more than four times to no avail. The accelration pedal had gone completely to the floor without picking up any speed on multiple occasions. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer to further inspect and diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure multiple times. The approximate failure mileage was 2,711. Dyd.
I had complained to trophy Nissan, progressive insurance, wells fargo, and platinum collision about the very problem that I just received a recall about. My complaints were treated as not having merit. I had specifically described the seemingly loss of control on pavement that was slightly rough. I also asserted that when I applied brakes the Pathfinder seemed to lunge forward. In this accident I was the interstate near downtown dallas moving one lane to my left as traffic slowed and stopped. I was aware of the slowing traffic and I reacted accordingly. As traffic actually stopped I recall not being overly concerned that I was a safe stopping distance but when I applied the brake my Pathfinder seemed to lunge forward and I struck the rear of the vehicle in front of me. I again stated my concerns after the fact and was not deemed accurate. The Pathfinder spent 2 months in the shop waiting on parts and my insurance premium doubled. I refused to pay the elevated premium because I simply did not have it and I did not make any payments on the Pathfinder to wells fargo during the 2 months and the Pathfinder has subsequently been repossessed do I have actionable recourse?? what's next with this complaint?? I tried in vain to get progressive to recognize a diminished value claim. This could have saved me money and my car as the wreck was truly not my fault but it was ruled my fault because I was the rear vehicle and texas has no diminished value for insured being at fault. Tried in vain to get wells fargo to help me but all parties were scared to death of progressive insurance with the exception of platinum collision. Their only standing in this case is as the body shop approved by progressive.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact was driving 35 mph and experienced issues with the abs braking system. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection but no diagnosis was provided. The contact then received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 13v445000 (electrical system , service brakes, hydraulic). The vehicle was not serviced for the recall and was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the incident. The approximate failure mileage was 7500.
Traveling in 30mph zone. Slowed as I neared intersection. Going 5 mph. Approximately 40 feet from intersection put pressure on brake to stop car. No response and I rolled to middle of intersection. Luckily no cars in front of me or in intersection.
I got a recall paper for the passenger air bag sensor, when I took it in to get it fixed they tested it and said it was fine. The light still comes on with no one in the seat. Then the fuel gauge where it tells you how many miles till empty showed nothing but 3 lines for 2 days and I was told that this in not an issue for this year and nothing was done. Now the brakes will go to the floor more when being pressed and the vehicle will start rolling so you have to push harder on the brakes. Just yesterday the mileage that is suppose to be moving while driving to show how many mpg you are getting went all the way up and stayed there the whole time I drove. There is no way I was getting like 50 miles per gallon going 45mph. I try to get my vehicle in to the Nissan dealer where I got it from in las cruces, nm and I keep not getting answers or more excused of what is not wrong with my vehicle. How do they know they are not driving it? I am very unhappy and will be changing vehicles soon!.
When I would park on a hill the parking brake would not hold the car and the car would roll backwards until the parking pawl was engaged so the transmission was holding the car on the hill. In an emergency situation the parking brake would not be able to stop the car. Took car to the dealer and parking brake was adjusted. Now, no problems holding the car on a hill. Nissan should have checked this before giving me the car.
