Sun visors on both driver and passenger side, have problems and keep falling down. It is a known recurring issue with Nissan, and it blocks vision of the road ahead, as well as when they hang down, it causes head injury thrust against the edge of visor. The dealership confirmed that this is a known issue yet Nissan has not issued a recall for this, it is a safety hazard. The visors will not stay up in place, and they fall down just enough to have the hard edge of the visor directly in front of the forehead, causing injury and impeding visibility.

While driving down a road, the hood flew up and hit the windshield. I could not see in front of me at all. The hood ripped through the fenders by the windshield. I was driving approx. 35 miles per hour at the time this happened.
The sunvisor/shade on both the passenger side and the driver side is not staying in place. It is blocking the view. Upon calling Nissan they claimed that there are no recalls and have to only inform NHTSA to take specific action.
Sun visor does not stay in place and droops and obstructs view when vehicle is in motion. This obstructs view and may cause a crash. The same happens to both driver and passenger side sun visors. A quick internet search shows the problem to be prevalent.
Both sun visors on the drivers side and passenger side will not go up and hang down due to a defect. This blocks the visibility of the road and poses a safety hazard as if you were in an accident the person would get injured by the visor hanging down. This problem has been mentioned online by many Nissan owners and Nissan refuses to cover. I received an estimate of $430. 84 to get them replaced. When I noticed that my visors were like this was when. I picked my car up from the Nissan garage as they were fixing a mechanical problem. I tried to push up and they would just fall down again. Nothing I did to cause this.
Tl- the contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder the sunvisor on both the driver and passenger side has not fails to push up to close. The sunvisor, now remaining in the open position, also seems to be lowering in its positioning obscuring the front view. The contact had not taken the vehicle to the dealership regarding the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened case number 37262593. The vehicle had not been repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000. Gl.
Sun visors will not stay up in the retracted position, obstructing windshield visibility. Plastic parts for retaining sun visors are broken. This is with very light use. Both sun visors started malfunctioning around the same time, which points to a manufacturing defect rather than normal wear and tear. Many people on the internet are complaining about the same issue.
Plastic retaining clip inside both driver and passenger sunvisor broken causing visors to fall in field of view causing an obstruction of view of oncoming traffic. Passenger side door handle broken inside of door not allowing passenger to exit from vehicle.
Driver sun visor would make a clicking sound. Now the visor will not stay up and it disturbs my visibility when driving.
Problem #1: several instances where the unit loses acceleration while in motion (driving) or when trying to accelerate from a complete stationary at a light. I press the pedal to accelerate with no response, cero acceleration. In order for me to get acceleration back I have to park and put in on parking and try the pedal again. I have taken my car to Nissan where the diagnose can't be determine because the lack of warning signs on the control panel. The unit did not show the condition at that moment and they were not able to replicate it. After taking the unit out of the mechanical workshop, a warning sig was revealed as follows: p0603: internal control module keep alive memory (kam) error. I called the workshop and they told me no recalls were claimed for that reason (error code). Problem #2: the warranty was over (36months) and both visors went permanently down. They were replaced at my own cost. Problem #3: the brakes lights are keeping on even when the unit is off. This is making the battery runs out!.
Our Pathfinder has been recalled twice for passenger side airbag malfunctions. Despite having been "repaired" on both occasions, the airbag light started flashing. Nissan is now informing us that the entire airbag system is defective, yet they maintain that this issue is unrelated to the prior recalls and as such, have refused to cover the cost of repair. In addition, the visors on both the driver and passenger sides have broken and are sagging, impairing vision during vehicle operation. In researching solutions, we have discovered that both issues are common complaints for drivers of our specific model Pathfinder, yet Nissan seems to be doing nothing to fix these recurrent defects.
On a bumpy road, drivers side sun visor failed completely and dropped down blocking drivers vision. We have already replaced sun visor previously, this has happened to us before.
The driver side and passenger side sun visors broke and won't stay in place and are a hazard while driving.
While driving suddenly the drivers side sun visor fail to stay up while covering my visibility that I almost hit a car in front of me ,unfortunately I reacted quickly slamming the brakes ,this happened right around in may after I bought the vehicle . But then after one month the passenger side visor fail too while the vehicle was parked ,being a pain on the but ,I had to take both out . Hoping some one does something about it . Before something bad could happen.
Sun visors on driver side and passenger side will not stay up or in position. They hang down creating a hazard. They block visibility. Have to hold them in place with other hand when trying to turn in order to be able to see.
Sunvisor fails to hold and will ultimately fall in the driver's line of sight with no way to secure creating a visibility hazard. Even if the visor is replaced by Nissan it will fail again due to the flawed design. Nissan is aware of this issue and they have failed to issue a recall on their sunvisors. I was advised to file a safety complaint by numerous threads, forums, and youtube videos on this particular issue.
The drivers side sun visor has broken free and will drop down at anytime. This is a safety problem that Nissan must be aware of by the volume of complaints I have read on here. I feel this should be addressed ASAP.
Driver's side sun visor broke while I was driving on the highway and now just hangs in my line of sight unless I push it over to the side, which also obstructs visibility out of the driver side window. We have tried using velcro but the sticky side falls off when it gets cold in the vehicle. It has fallen and hit me in the head once while driving which scared me and made me jerk the steering wheel. Lucky it didn't cause me to crash. This is a serious safety issue which could cause an accident if not corrected.
Sun visors make a clicking noise on drivers and passengers side, dealer stated that they will break , seems like a safety issue, also said the cost to replace was over 200. 00 each.
I have very usual most common problem with a sun visor in my Nissan Pathfinder 2013. Both sun visors are hanging one third way down and I consider this as a safety hazard while I am or my wafe is driving the car.
I recently purchased a Nissan and the visor slowly began to get lower and lower and now is o structure g visibility and is a safety hazard. I returned to the dealer and it's over warrenty because it had 33k miles, emailed Nissan no answer. Dealer says it happens very often, to fix is over 300. 90.
Driver's side sun visor broken and flaps down unexpected when driving. Nissan needs to be forced to issue a recall on this and fix them free - as of now they contend that it is not covered with the 5 year, 120,000 extended warranty I purchased. Four out of the past 5 complaints on this site related to this very issue (and no mine). Nissan needs to recognize this as a design flaw before accidents occur.
The sun visors no longer stay up and out of the view some times swing down without warning blocking visibility.
Both driver side and passenger side sun visor are too heavy for the clips that hold them and over time starts to hang and eventually break at the swivel. This is a dangerous as the visor blocks your line of sight and once it breaks it is completely in your way. I replaced the passenger side while under warranty and its already hanging again, the driver side one was hanging and broke after the warranty expired. The service man at the Nissan dealer said they keep a ton of them in stock, because they are always breaking/hanging. Driving this car is a major safety issue.
The driver's side visor broke (a piece inside the visor) early on in ownership but not enough to bother me. Now, it hangs down in my face obstructing my view while driving.
The driver's side sun visor broke internally and flops down into the driver's sightline--will not stay up or any other position than directly in the driver's sightline. Many complaints of this on youtube including a Nissan dealership reporting that it happens on almost all 2013-2016 Pathfinders. It is dangerous as it affects visability. Nissan wants $141 / visor for the part alone. Installed, generally over $200. This should be a safety recall. Problem occurred as my wife was driving and trying to use the sun visor for its intended purpose.

The cause of the failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer herb gordan Nissan located at 3131 automobile blvd. Silver spring MD. Were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 25,000. Jft.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that the sun visors on the front driver and passenger sides failed to function properly. The dealer (maus Nissan in new port richey, FL) replaced both visors. Shortly after the repair, the failure continued. The dealer stated that the contact would need to replace both visors. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and indicated that they would follow up within three business days. The failure mileage was not available.
Driver side visor has fallen 2-3 inches and passenger side has fallen 4-5 inches. This is a complete safety hazzard for visibility and one could be seriously injured should they have an accident as an airbag can not protect them from faulty interior parts of this vehicle. We noticed a slight issue just after purchase in 2017 and the issue has gotten increasingly worse.
I am experiencing failures on both of my sun visors after very light use. They flop down and obstruct my vision while I am driving causing a safety and visibility concern. After doing research I have found that this is an extremely widespread problem with this vehicle. Nissan charges an exorbitant amount for this replacement part which deters consumers from fixing the visibility issue and further exacerbates the safety concern.
I have a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder and the sun visors have an issue where they do not stay up. This is a common issue with this vehicle as if you google it, there are multiple threads describing the issue. This is a huge safety issue as the sun visor on the driver's side blocks your visibility. Additionally, it makes a loud cracking sound anytime you open or close it. I contacted Nissan last year in 2016 and they basically said, "OH well. You are out of warranty. " the issue with my vehicle is a known issue and is also a safety concern. I can be driving my vehicle on the highway and the sun visor will suddenly fall down and block my view. When I contacted Nissan last year, my vehicle was not even a year out of warranty. I had noticed the issue with the sun visors for a while, but did not take the vehicle in previously due to personal issues going on (I was in the middle of a separation and divorce). The driver's side sun visor is hanging so low now that I have to push to the left side of my vehicle in front of the window so I can see when I drive. I have included some pictures so you can see where the sun visor is sitting on a permanent basis. Even if I push it up, it falls back to this position. You can see from the final picture that is basically at my eye level. I can understand Nissan not wanting to replace both sun visors, but the driver's side visor is a huge safety concern. At $250 a piece, I can't really afford to spend $500 to have them both repaired. I have 2 small children and I'm extremely concerned for their safety and mine while operating the vehicle.
While driving on September 219th, 2016, the airbag indicator light started flashing for under a minute, and then the entire dashboard cluster panel went out. The tachometer, speedometer, gas gauge, driver safety information, lighting and breaks , gear mode, seat belt indicator, engine temperature gauge all went blank as the car was driving straight down a street approximately 45 miles an hour. I pulled the car off of the road to a safe place. Shut it down, and started it again normally. The entire instrument panel has yet to come back on. I was able to get the SUV home, and called some local dealerships to get it in to service. While waiting for a call back, I was able to research, and found that the vehicle is under two recalls, 16v-244 for occs system, and 16v-380 for stop lamp switch. . I was able to get the car to royal Nissan in baton rouge, louisiana (225) 924-0400 on the 20th of September, 2016. I informed them of the recalls, and they said that they would look into the mater. On the September 21th, service advisor (kenney) called me and said that they did not yet know how to fix the problem, but the car was three years old, and out of warranty and I would have to pay for the repairs myself because they were probably not related to the recalls. That is where it stands. As of September 21st, 2016. I do not think that I am being unreasonable when I think that there is a connection to the flashing indicator lights, and the dashboard going out at the same time.
Both window visors have broken and dangle in front of me when I'm driving, creating a safety hazard as they hang in the way of my front windshield and obstruct my vision. I have also hit my head several times while driving on these dangling visors while trying to look both ways at a cross section, etc. After some research online I have found that this is apparently a common defect in the Pathfinder for years 2013 - 2015 and the part attaching the visor to the roof was cheaply made. I have contacted Nissan consumer affairs but they will not replace the visors nor will they help contribute to fixing the problem. Cost to fix two visors is $451 per my local Nissan dealership.
