I purchased a used 2015 Nissan Pathfinder last year. Recently the passenger airbag light does not turn off. After searching the internet, I found their was a recall for this issue in the past. I contacted Nissan, and to my dismay they claim the issue had been addressed for my vehicle and will not pay to have the issue resolved. I am unsure that having a passenger in my car is safe.

The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent or dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact was awaiting a response from the manufacturer. The failure mileage was approximately 61,464.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer for the recall repair of NHTSA campaign number: 16v244000 (air bags) however, after the recall repair, the air bag warning light illuminated, and the message "passenger air bag off" was displayed despite the front passenger's seat being occupied. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the occupant classification system (OCS) sensor needed to be replaced, and a repair fee was charged. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was not experiencing a failure prior to the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 139,000.
The vehicle had no issues after being stopped for three days the airbag light on the dashboard started to flash and the passenger airbag-off light is on even with a passenger seated on.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that while driving approximately 15 mph, the passenger side front, middle and rear curtain air bags were erroneously deployed causing the vehicle to abruptly shut off. During the failure, the driver sustained burns to both arms and hands which did not require medical treatment. The contact indicated that the vehicle did not crash into another vehicle or object to cause the air bags to deploy. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 150,000.
There was a vehicle at a complete stop doing an illegal left turn, the car behind him was able to swerve around him but I was not able to I hit the brakes twice all the way down and the car did not stop. At the impact the air bags did not deploy. There were not skid marks on the road either, making me believe that the brakes did not do its job. The vehicle is now at the shop waiting for my insurance adjuster to let me know what the next step is. I just spent $5,000 on the transmission just to have this issue arise, luckily my family and I were not seriously injured but it left my kids traumatized. No warnings were issued before the crash.
Was in accident moving about 10 miles per hour and slowing as approaching light on a local city street. Car trued to pass illegally on left. I moved right to avoid and hit car in front of me at very slow speed. No visible damage to frint end. Driver airbag opened in a partially defkated manner. Should not even have opened . Especially incorrectly.
I was backing from a parking space when I struck a passing car with the boat hitch on my rear bumper. It was a low-impact collision as we were both moving slowly in a parking lot. After getting out of the car to speak with the other driver, I returned to find that all of the air bags on the passenger side of my car (including front passenger seat and curtains from the front window to the rear) had deployed. No one was in the car at the time of impact but me. None of the air bags on the drivers side of the car deployed. I know Nissan has had passenger air bag problems in the past and before the accident, mine often showed that air bags were on when no one was in the passenger seat. Your database says there are no recalls on my VIN number so I assume that previous owners had the matter addressed before I bought the car from a Nissan dealership in 2018. My circumstance isn't identical to the air bag recall but is certainly ironic. Although I wasn't hurt, the air bags surely didn't help me. The wrong ones deployed and will cost $6,500 to replace. Can you do anything to help me?.
I was involved in an accident where another car clipped the back bumper of my Pathfinder going trough an intersection. It was enough to deploy my curtain airbags on the drivers side and the seat air bag in the drivers seat, but did minor damage to the back bumper on the drivers side. But, after everyone was out of my Pathfinder, a police officer noticed a fire inside the Pathfinder. It was located on the panel between the drivers side door and the back door on the drivers side. I don't have pictures (I didn't think to take any) and my insurance company is handling the police report and all the details, but the officer asked me to report this issue to you so I am.
Had our airbag recall fixed last year but the light continues to stay on when someone sits in the seat. This happens periodically. Recall fixed wallace stuart. Florida.

I received a recall notice in may regarding the OCS that affects the passenger airbag. I went to the dealership in June and was told the parts were not in yet for replacement. I went again in September and was then told that the parts are on manufacturer restriction and they were unable to replace/repair. It has been 5 months since receiving the recall notice and nothing has been done to fix the issue. Airbags are a very big deal and want to know how can I get this fixed ASAP.

Takata recall you previous webpage mentions the manufacturer acquiring the parts to repair in a timely manner. My question is, what do you consider a timely manner? I received my recall notice approximately 6 months or more ago, but I haven't heard anything else regarding Nissan repairing the faulty airbags. I'm getting more and more concerned daily about my family's or my safety. When is Nissan going to get off their behinds and repair or replace the faulty airbags?.
I worked with Nissan last year to resolve an issue that I had with a Pathfinder airbag issue (Nissan case 19556126). ¿the original vehicle was replaced and I¿ve had the bad luck of getting a 2015 Pathfinder with the same issue. ¿I¿ve had this vehicle since late November of 2015, it has approx. 3700 miles on it and is already exhibiting issues with the passenger airbag. ¿it has been in 3 times with document (videos) instances where the airbag off light is on, while driving with a person weighing more than 100lbs in the passenger seat. These are intermittent issues. One time I drove with the airbag off light on from cleveland to richfield ¿approx. 30 miles. I feel that this is a serious safety issues that could result in serious injury or death if it is not fixed. ¿it still is not resolved. ¿joel tanner, has been my contact at airport Nissan (440-884-7800) where the car came from and has been serviced. He stated that they could not find an issue with the vehicle¿s airbag. However, I have clearly documented the issue with videos. ¿dikota, at Nissan consumer affairs (615- 725-7590) talked with me and stated that there is nothing wrong with my vehicle. ¿the vehicle has also been in for engine light issues which for the time have been resolved. ¿it is also exhibiting an issue with the gps where addresses can¿t be found with the vehicle¿s gps but my iphone can. I have videos that can be sent but your website doesn't accept them - please provide a way to send them to you.
Have a 2015 Nissan Pathfinder where the "airbag is off" passenger light keeps coming one when an adult passenger weighing more than 150 lbs is properly seated wearing the seatbelt properly. This has happened several times (10+ times). I have had it to the Nissan dealer twice with the most recent date being February 2, 2016 for this issue. Nissan dealer runs tests but is unable to find issue. Filed complaint with Nissan on February 4th and was told that they talked to the dealer and there is no problem. I have it on video where I am sitting properly in the passenger seat with seatbelt properly on with the car being driven down the expressway at approximately 65 mph and the "airbag is off" light is on. It is now a safety issue because I would hate to get in an accident with anyone sitting in the passenger seat.
2015 Nissan Pathfinder envolved in unknown accident air bag deployed, Nissan refuses to respond , numerious recalls, belief concusion occurred need assistance, stoped payments, collection has been in contact with me , VIN on Pathfinder doesn't match veh, asked them also to provide date of mfg not recieved.
Purchased a 2015 Pathfinder sl in may 2015 to replace the 2014 Pathfinder sl we had. The dealer returned the 2014 for us for the same issue we're experiencing with the 2015. In late June the passenger seat air bag would not engage for several minutes if someone was sitting in the seat before the car would start. Our resolution was to wait to sit in the seat until the car was started. This worked until the end of July when the air bag would disengage with a passenger in the seat while the car was in motion. We brought it to the dealer who found a code, cleared it and was told it was in good working condition. The problem persisted with many videos to show the issue. Brought it back to the dealer in August. Dealer could not recreate the issue but because we had videos, understood there was a real issue and performed a "zero point OCS reprogram" and service tech hoped it would "do the trick". It didn't and the problem escalated. Brought it back to the dealer in September and car is still there. Dealership again could not "recreate" the issue and wanted to give us the car back. We refused because it's a safety issue. Dealer finally agreed to get Nissan involved. Still waiting to hear back. We also called Nissan and opened a case file and waiting to hear back from Nissan too.
Re all is not fixed in my car Nissan never fix this recall.
