general problems of the 2015 Nissan Pathfinder

Back brake lights stay on. Seems like brakes are stuck as I can start my car without pressing the brakes and can get it out of the park position without having to push the brakes. I had to disconnect my battery to keep it from being drained. The was a recall back in 2021. I contacted Nissan and they said the issue was fixed. The will not pay for repair because it falls under a warranty that I don’t have. If the PA manufacturer name : Nissan north America, inc. Nhtsa recall no. / mfr recall no. : 21v-020 / pc786 recall subject : brake light switch relay may stick.

Intermittently there is low power when accelerating and the brake lights remain on. If there is low power when accelerating from a stopped position going into traffic, this could lead to injury or death of persons in the car as other vehicles could run into them. Likewise with brake lights remaining on throughout a journey, other road users cannot determine when the brakes have been applied which could lead to collisions.

1)vehicle has been repaired 3 times in the last 2 weeks for a brake switch issue that is causing the vehicle not to recognize the brake is pushed causing the car not being able to start. This has been an intermittent issue for 18 months and was told the recall fixed it, which it didn't. 2)dealership service department is now telling me that other issues have arisen since trying to fix issue #1. The car is revving to 5000 rpms, the car is automatically going to manual 1, and the car is hitting speeds of 40mph without touching the pedal.

Brake lights will stay on even when car is parked and not occupied. Skid control coms on when driving and engine power is reduced or in lymph node. Car can be put in drive without depressing the brake switch . Ok Nissan says this is not on recall by VIN # but there is an active recall on this model now. Sounds like a good lawsuit to me. There was a vehicle at a complete stop doing an illegal left turn, the car behind him was able to swerve around him but I was not able to I hit the brakes twice all the way down and the car did not stop. At the impact the air bags did not deploy. There were not skid marks on the road either, making me believe that the brakes did not do its job. The vehicle is now at the shop waiting for my insurance adjuster to let me know what the next step is. I just spent $5,000 on the transmission just to have this issue arise, luckily my family and I were not seriously injured but it left my kids traumatized. No warnings were issued before the crash.

The vehicle stops accelerating while driving. No matter how much you press the gas is doesn't go. We have found out that we must press the brake down nearly all the way and then press the gas. This is dangerous especially in a big city. There is no pattern it does it while getting on/off exits and while driving on residential roads as well.

The brake relay is defective. It's causing the car to think the brake is engaged and you cannot use the accelerator. The Nissan tech notes even recommend bypassing part of the system when you repair. Major safety hazard if you cannot accelerate in an intersection or while egressing from a parking lot.

Brake power booster leaks after only 35000 miles.

Had our airbag recall fixed last year but the light continues to stay on when someone sits in the seat. This happens periodically. Recall fixed wallace stuart. Florida.

While driving our Pathfinder in stop and go traffic, I've started to notice and feel a juddering & jerking motion coming from the transmission/powertrain every time I depress or press on the gas pedal at between speeds of 15 to 40 mph. I plan to report this to Nissan along with a couple more issues like the crackling sound coming from the front suspension usually after reversing back out of a driveway then moving forward while slightly turning the wheel back to a straight position. Could be a bearing issue, racking pinion or possibly the brake issues that have been recalled. I will also report the constant announce of a crackling sound coming from the wood paneling around stereo and air condition controls. Last but not least the scary & visible shaking of the front hood while driving at speeds of over 80mph. This violently shaking from the hood will certainly let you know that if you go any faster chances are the hood will fly off or cause serious damage to the vehicle or possibly cause an accident. There is no doubt in my mind that this is issue is clearly an aero dynamic flaw. How can they not have been aware of this possible serious safety issue ?.

Potentially faulty brake system or downshift cvt or simulated gearshift system. Details: when driving in slow moving traffic with the brakes partially applied, the vehicle tends to momentarily accelerate and speed up. Concurrently the resistance on the brake pedal tends to decrease, along with a visible down-and-then-back-up jumping of rpm needle. The brake pedal needs to be kept pressed to allow the vehicle to slow down. Took vehicle to dealership (new vehicle, with only 300 miles), the technician noticed the problem I had been explaining. The technician agreed to speak with the engineer the next day. However, next day the dealership stated that they have never encountered such as issue, and it may be simply the down-shift of the cvt transmission. This is unusual in comparison to any other car I have driven. Acceleration of the car during the braking cycle is clearly odd. Potentially dangerous situation when approaching a stop sign or slow traffic zones near schools. Please investigate.

The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Pathfinder. While driving between 5-50 mph, the vehicle did not stop when the brakes were engaged. The vehicle crashed into the contact's residence. There were no injuries and a police report was not filed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, but not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 750.
