Vehicle began making a clacking sound in front of motor intermittantly (like playing cards in bike spokes). This noise occured when stationary and in motion, city and highway speeds/locations. Mechanic determined that bearings in double fan assemby was the cause and had to be replaced. Vehicle was a 40,600 miles when part failed. Fan assembly was on backorder at the dealership. Replaced with an aftermarket fan assembly, total cost $629. Xx.

2 Engine Clicking And Tapping Noises problem

Failure Date: 06/03/2019

Bearings on electric fans going out checked the internet and this seems to be a common problem with fans. Makes a loud clicking noise when engine gets to running temp.
