Blind Spot Detection Problems of Nissan Pathfinder

The control buttons located on the steering wheel of the newer model Nissan Pathfinder are malfunctioning. These buttons control numerous functions and sensors. What's happening is, the spring action of the buttons are failing and the button is loose. This causes the button to make contact as if it was pushed without touching it, simply driving over a bump. Some of these buttons control warning sensors for the vehicle, anti-collision, parking, blind spot, etc. Numerous people are complaining about this online. Several have said their dealer service department acknowledges that this is a known issue. I contacted Nissan customer service and they told me there is no information in their system about this problem and any repair would be out of pocket by the customer. This is a very expensive repair. This issue must be addressed. There are too many Pathfinder owners having the exact same problem. Please look into this. Thank you.

Safety cameras stopped working on the screen just gives black image when cars put into reverse. If cameras button is pushed screen swaps over to a black screen.

1. 1st week having car was leaving to go on a trip, I pulled into a gas station. A driver pulled up next to us and told us we had no break lights. ( it was still dark outsid!) I got out of my car and have my wife step on the breaks, and sure enough no break lights. It was set on standard head lights on! we found that putting it into the auto light setting that we then had break lights. (break lights should never be discounted)! 2. 2nd problem my wife & I have had when going into traffic on the interstate, is the car locks into low gear and will not shift!!! major safty issure!!!! this has happen 6 times in the last 2. 5 months. Almost cause a car slaming into us twice.

Blind spot warning system is malfunctioning. Can provide inspection upon request. The absence of blind spot warning poses lane changing/highway driving a danger to vehicle operator and others while the vehicle must be at speeds of 20mph or higher to be active. Problem was identified by dealer. Dealer indicated blind spot warning checked as indicated on carfax report. Warning lamp indicator was acknowledged prior to failure. As the new owner it first appeared on 14 March 2025. I assume it is reoccurring problem indicated by the carfax report.

Driver's side view mirror constantly shakes making impossible to use while driving. Makes you sick when looking at it. Unsafe to make lane change.

While driving the vehicle automatically applied brakes even though there was nothing in front of me. There was a car in left lane but nothing in front. No crash this time but close to being rear ended. Also backing up I took my eyes off camera to look in mirror, there was a car behind me & bam we collided. Not warning beep, no applying brakes when it should have.
