This truck is very well cared for,,all of a sudden its stalling at any time,,some hard starts,,runs perfect ,than stalls, while driving,no steering, very scarry,I thought it was bad gas I filled 2 more time from good gas station 89 and 91 octan,.
The vehicle automatic braking system/cruise control would not operate when a warning message unavailable front radar obstruction was displayed. It is possible that when the message occurs, the brakes can stop at highway speeds.
2014 Nissan Pathfinder 44,424 miles. Part 621-586 rad fan assembly/cooking fan needs to be replaced. Vehicle makes loud roaring noise when the air conditioner unit is turned on. Vehicle shakes while in motion on city and highway streets.
I bought this vehicle in 2018 since then I've had this vehicle in the shop multiple times . My differential was replaced a few months after I bought the vehicle along with my fan blades . This is again an issue for my car this just having gotten it back because I had to do a complete engine replacement in my now only 4 year old car . My car was out of warranty from Nissan based on any of the mileage . I took it to one dealership who claimed that I had metal in my oil said nothing of smudge in the oil mind you I had just had my oil changed again not told anything . I was driving home from work in March 2020 when my low oil pressure light kicked on which didn't make sense as I had just had an oil change a few weeks prior and kept up on my oil changes . The engine that is in my vehicle is apparently Nissans newest engine and a very expensive one at that . I requested an exception from Nissan in regards to the engine so I did as they said and took it to another dealership this time the Nissan dealership . They claimed my engine was a total loss and it was due to lack of maintenance there was no way this was the case in my situation . Nissan informed me that maybe the previous own r had done it and basically there was nothing that could be done . So I got online and started looking around to find that other people had reported the same thing . My vehicle is primarily all highway driving I paid over 7k for a new engine to be put in my car from a local shop . The engine had to be taken out twice because the inside pistons were sticking this was on the new engines . Once my engine was finally installed and my 02 sensors replaced as well a week later my car was throwing a misfire for low oil pressure light. This clearly is a fault with Nissans design of this engine . I have spent thousands on a newer vehicle with no help from Nissan and no fault of my own .
Back up camera is not working.
Pathfinder forward collision warning when driving on bridge or any road sign anything above the road I am getting warning, I complained so many time but no changes and issue still exist, it's keep happening at least twice a week video attached as sample when crossing bridge after keep getting warning it went off mode.
I have a 2019 Pathfinder. Nissan has a known issue with the aeb system. I get a message constantly that the front radar is unavaiable due to obstruction. If the front obstruction isn't working and the aeb is disabled, this is a safely item. Why has there not been any recalls?.
Purchased the car in January 2019 complete hood latch system has had to be replaced in February. That was major problem one. The hood wouldn't close. Problem 2. Every time I drive the car I get an alert that unavailable front radar obstruction. As if something is blocking the sensor. It will be a clear day nothing in my way and this pops up. I have also had the car break for no reason due to this!!!!! Nissan is aware of the situation and I was told the new sensor is on backorder. Extreme safety issue! hoping for a buy back so I can get out of this nightmare of a car. Also the car will always be in motion when this happens. I have also had it where the car beeps as if I am going to hit the car in front of me and there is no car in front of me!.
Four separate times as I was driving a warning appeared that said " front radar unavailable due to obstruction". I am under warranty, took to coggin Nissan @ the avenues jacksonville FL. They are aware of faulty sensor problems but refused to fix the issue stating that they did not see the warning when they drove it and their antiquated computer checker could not find a problem. They kept my car for 5 hours and did not replace the faulty sensor that Nissan corp is totally aware of. This dealer said they won't get reinbursed from Nissan for the part unless I can prove that I am receiving these messages. That is their way out of having to fix the problem. I am afraid to drive my car now and only have 15,930 miles on it ! many Nissan models have this faulty sensor. They also did not fix the problem with the radio/navigation screen freezing and turning all black. Same excuse that their computer checker can't "duplicate" the problem. There is a definite issue as I have discovered after researching Nissan issues, the sensor is randomly deactivating itself and Nissan is aware it is a problem with the third party component from bosch, but will not issue a recall.
5-13-2019 (5 am) I was in an accident. The aeb (automatic emergency braking system) was active. The car was in motion until impacting a mercedes. I was on the "maze" I-880 (freeway) and chp arrived at 5:25 am and a field report file was file and I will contest it. See attachment. There is a prepare document explaining. I saw no warning lights on the dash during motion or crash time. Driving ultimately a dash red indicator came on. At the time I did not know what that to think. Upon returning home it said the car might suddenly stop. Researching I found a way to turn off this feature. But every-time one turns on the ignition, this switch resets itself. . . There is no way to turn it completely, but other safety features do. I find this odd and problem until car is repaired. I believe this system failed to operate, but evaluation is difficult. I like the black box recorder to be down loaded. I found a person who can do this, but he can not evaluate the data. Does the NHTSA have this skill? I believe my start of the art car could tell us more. Presently Pathfinder sl own by bob ritter (415 892-0847) is at jim bone Nissan santa rosa waiting for a part. I will attach two files containing all related information. I am aware after this accident that there is an effort to recall Pathfinder sl concerning this sensor aeb. Thank you.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated prior to his collision the vehicle would display air bags deployed message as well as front passenger side air bags off warning light would illuminate when occupied. The vehicle was taken to woodmen Nissan (6840 vincent dr, colorado springs, CO 80918) where the failure diagnoses was not known to the contact. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic in texas where a sub harness and occupant seat module was replaced. However, the contact stated in December of 2019 while driving 40 mph and making a left turn, when he impacted another vehicle. The contact stated the front driver air bags semi deployed and the front passenger side air bags did not deploy. He sustained head injuries while his daughter was sitting in the front passenger seat sustained back and leg injuries that required medical attention. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot and deemed a total loss by the insurance company. The manufacturer was notified of issues however, no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 97,000.
From a complete stop my car would not accelerate faster than 10 mph. It has happened several times now. The first time I was on the highway in stop and go traffic and when it was time to accelerate, I was unable to even pressing the gas all the way to the floor. I had to pull over and brake, then hit the gas and it was able to go again. The next time was after braking at a stop sign. The third time was after stopping at a red light. I had heavy traffic behind me and I could only go 10 mph. I even noticed after I parked my car and got out of it my brake lights were still on as if someone was sitting there pressing the brake-which wasn't the case at all. This is very dangerous. I had my child in the car all three times and im lucky I did not get rear ended.
"takata recall" the car lost power intermittently. It wouldn't accelerate for a few minutes. This happens when in stationary on a city street as well as highways.
Electronic stability control comes on randomly going down the road or at a stop light causing the car not to accelerate making the brake lights stay on all the time car only has 65000 miles on it afraid gonna get hit from no acceleration.
I purchased my Nissan in August of 2018. It only had a little over 23k miles. On 12/22/2018 I took my vehicle to baron Nissan where I purchased it and advised that the vehicle would not accel when speed was below 20 miles per hour. If I attempted to slow down and then begin to accel again the vehicle would not move. It just rolls as I press the gas pedal many times. Then all of a sudden the vehicle would begin to accel. The dealer advised the stop lamp switch needed to be replaced and it was covered under warranty. I left with the vehicle and then two days later I began to have the same issue again. It is random and you never can tell when it's going to happen. This is very dangerous when attempting to get on a highway or making a left turn and the car doesn't accelerate. Car went back to baron Nissan on 12/29/2018. The vehicle was checked, driven personally by service manager and I was told they could not find an error code stating what the problem could be. Now I have reviewed this site and see 3 other owners are having the same problem. Now I have recorded my car slip light being on more than on one occasion, my brake lights stay on even when the vehicle is off and I begin to feel the same problem with the vehicle not accelerating. Im trying to teach my son how to drive and car would not accel as he was making a left turn. This problem is a very serious safety issue and Nissan needs to get a perminant fix immediately. At this time my vehicle has only 29k miles and I will be reporting problem to Nissan corporate.
We purchased a 2017 Nissan Pathfinder for our family 5 from peters Nissan in nashua n. H. August 2017. In November 2018 we started having problems with the vehicle losing power, and shaking like it's ready to stall out. We took it in to Nissan and they claimed they replaced all 6 fuel injectors and 5 upper injector 0-rings. We brought it back on Dec 3, 2018 for the same problem and Nissan documentation states that they performed road test and vehicle road gauge read all the way empty even though the vehicle had one half a tank of fuel. They claimed to have replaced internal fuel pump and and the vehicle fuel gauge was then reading at the appropriate level and the vehicle was returned to us. On Jan 14, 2019 we took the vehicle back to Nissan for the same mechanical problem and they kept it until Feb 6 claiming that they were doing extensive research to diagnose and fix the problem. After 3 weeks without our vehicle we were called to pick it up and the work order stated road tested vehicle and could not duplicate condition. However the paperwork indicates that the mileage in was 23181 and the mileage out was exactly the same, 23181, indicating that Nissan never really did anything to resolve the problem. We are a family of 5 and for us this vehicle was a huge investment, we're confident in the Nissan brand name but now we are regretting our decision. We have requested that Nissan buy the vehicle back so we can purchase a reliable vehicle from another brand name corporation or at a minimum replace this vehicle with a new Nissan Pathfinder to no avail, so now we feel we are stuck with this high priced lemon.
I bought my Nissan Pathfinder June 2012 brand new. . . I haven't had any issues with my vehicle until August 2, 2018 in my garage I tried to start it but it wouldn't crank. I had it towed to Nissan service. . . . I was told it shouldn't be doing this if you bought your car new. . . After diagnosis they told me it was my computer (ecm)so, is that normal for a 6 year old car?also, no warning signs or anything. .
Problem #1: several instances where the unit loses acceleration while in motion (driving) or when trying to accelerate from a complete stationary at a light. I press the pedal to accelerate with no response, cero acceleration. In order for me to get acceleration back I have to park and put in on parking and try the pedal again. I have taken my car to Nissan where the diagnose can't be determine because the lack of warning signs on the control panel. The unit did not show the condition at that moment and they were not able to replicate it. After taking the unit out of the mechanical workshop, a warning sig was revealed as follows: p0603: internal control module keep alive memory (kam) error. I called the workshop and they told me no recalls were claimed for that reason (error code). Problem #2: the warranty was over (36months) and both visors went permanently down. They were replaced at my own cost. Problem #3: the brakes lights are keeping on even when the unit is off. This is making the battery runs out!.
Vehicle would not accelerate intermittently almost causing accidents. Vehicle would not go over 20 mph from a complete stop and or when switching from braking to accelerating. Also break lights were left on even if vehicle was turned off. The fault is the stop lamp relay circuit and stop lamp switch.
I purchased my 2018 Pathfinder in March 2018 and before I drove it off the lot the mil light came on. They took it to the service dept, said they fixed it. I drove it home and on the way home you could feel the car stutter and when outside of the car you could hear the engine misfire. The aeb light, slip indicator light and mil came on. Took it back to the dealership. They never could figure out how to fix it. They ended up finding another car like mine and I traded vehicles. Now over a year later the aeb light and slip indicator light have come on a couple times. Was told that there was a sensor that was recalled. They fixed that. Now the aeb light and slip indicator lights came on again. Called to get a service appt - days later the mil light came on. It is currently in the service department at the dealership. I do not feel like this problem should be happening already. The car is less than 2 years old. Having the same lights and problems with 2 cars that are identical is scary. There is a problem - it was not a fluke. Everytime the indicator lights come on I am driving on a highway. You can feel the car stutter and you know the lights are going to come on. Then the car jerks a little and the lights come on. Afterwards you can feel the car struggle at times - like it isn't getting enough gas. Although now that the check engine light is on the car is misfiring - you can hear it when it is idling in the driveway.
At intermittent times while driving the vehicle will not accelerate when you push on the gas, this is very dangerous not only to me but to other people because it has almost caused accidents . When this occurs the traction control light will come on and remain lit until the car is restarted. Also the brake lights will stay light . It has been taken to the dealership where no codes could be found, on 05/02/2018 it was taken back to the dealership after many calls to Nissan motors about this problem they gave me a reference case # of 30341997 all this was given to the dealership to try to find the problem a second time after they were contacted by Nissan and myself. After 7 hours of having my car for diagnostics I was told it appears to be a factory defect that needs 3 parts ordered to do a work around. Two new wiring harnesses and a switch that will allow them to bypass brake switch relay and reroute to body control module , I was told this would cost and additional $500 plus on top of the $121. 62 I already paid for the diagnostics I do not think a consumer should have to pay for a factory defect firstly, then how is this work around going to affect the safety of my vehicle for myself and others? also Nissan must be well aware of this problem for them to already have manufactured these parts to do a work around to correct it. Are they trying to risk people lives to save a dollar? so in summery I have an acceleration problem that is going to get someone killed traction control issue that I have no idea if it is working correctly or not or if it is going to be disabled. Brake lights that stay on when driving when this happens that other drivers can't tell if I am applying the brakes or not. Don't like the idea of having such a new model car have a safety issue workaround done on it that it was not designed for.
The car computer is fucked up - the car is shut down on the highway. I need Nissan to fix this at no cost - the has given me trouble from day one.
Purchased vehicle last week / currently has 200 miles / started smelling wires burning, taking to dealership for inspection.
I brought this vehicle in April of 2017, with 41,000 miles. I did not even have the vehicle a year before I noticed that when I am driving the vehicle it starts to stall at times, it does not pick up speed at all I have to push the accelerator two or three times before it picks up, and this happens at traffic lights and even when I'm on the interstate. I am really fearing for my life, because this is the only vehicle I have right now to drive. When I go to park the vehicle, and shut it off the brake lights stay on, and they don't go off. I have to get back in the vehicle move the vehicle and then shut it off. Sometimes I have to do this three or four times before the brake light goes off. I reported this issue to the Nissan dealership, who have told me there is no recall for this problem, and since it happens periodically through the day I have to keep making appointments, so they can try to find the problem. Very frustrating.
I went to the Nissan dealer in my country to guaranty, and they tole me that I dont have any guarantied I told them to check my Pathfinder because I have problems with it! she was very slow, broke the olcooler and the water is inside the transmision and now the Pathfinder dont turn on. Its dead! and now I have to send the Pathfinder to others people because the Nissan dealer dont want to help with the problems and never I receive any notifications for any campaign to resolve any problems! can you please help me! tku!.
Now on our 2nd radiator/transmission issue with our Nissan Pathfinder, the original repair was under warranty, but now experiencing same issues again. With both instances the car was being driven when issues occurred. Fortunately, the location to the repair shop is close. Our Pathfinder is currently in a repair shop under going diagnostics.
While driving my 2008 Nissan Pathfinder there was a hard shift when I put it in reverse, then noticed the check engine light was lit and steady, I then switched gears into drive which had a violent jerking motion & slight hesitation to accelerate. As I proceeded to drive on the county road the check engine light began flashing constantly & the vehicle had little power to accelerate & constantly hesitating causing me to immediately pull over. I believe the problem was created due to the entermix coolant in transmission as stated by the techician in the report I provided. This was a safety risk because at the time of incident I was driving across the road.
Hi,I received the safety recall 16v-244 so when I went to niissan ancira san antonio texas with safety recall notice so they said we will ccall you back but 45days still no contact or call from dealer, also I define some detals, when I bought Nissan Pathfinder 2013 in January 2016 so seller(leif johnson superstore)to me defected vehicle &in April 2016 vehicle suddenly dead.
On my 2008 Nissan Pathfinder, which is only 8 years old, I have repaired my transmission due to an atf contamination via the cooling system around 95,000 miles. I purchased the vehicle at 90,000 miles used. This affected my speed control and all related systems. The radiator was replaced also due to the contamination. This has affected my cooling and heating system and all related systems. This cost my extended warranty company around $2,900+ (glad I was Smart enough to purchase this warranty), however it cost me my deductible of $200. 00. On February 12, 2016 I dropped my Nissan off for a follow-up repair to replace the entire timing chain assembly after going in for a simple alignment earlier (which was a waste of money because you have to purchase a camper kit in order for your alignment to be 100%, $249. 00 out-of-pocket). This caused me to have to buy a brand new set of tires out-of-pocket which came with a free alignment as a special, otherwise I would've re-payed for another alignment. Headquarters Nissan of columbus,GA never informed me of the timing chain issues with these suvs! this resulted in performance issues. Again my extended warranty will pay around $1,800 to Nissan for the repairs and me a $200. 00 deductible. I have run out of gas in the middle of traffic on the highway in atlanta,GA during rush hour before because my gas gauge or indicator or something doesn't read or is inaccurate. I also hear noise from the tires or something when I roll over speed bumps, accelerate or bank left or right with bad, hard steering. The cooling and heating system has not blown air at times and sometimes I have to depress the gas petal while idling to heat up air that has gone cold. When the a/c does this I turn off the a/c and let the windows down, pressing the gas petal does not work. Nissan says they can't find a problem with this system when diagnosing vehicle?!.
Since the purchase of the vehicle, my Nissan Pathfinder has failed to accelerate either at a stop or during normal speed. The engine would not stall, but would only accelerate almost at idle speed. The symptom of the problem would occur a couple of time then the slip indicator light would display and stay on until the car was shut down and restarted, I have several pictures demonstrating the issue as described for when the indicator slip light for the limited slip control would display in clear conditions. This would occur in ideal weather conditions and road conditions were clear and my foot was definitely not engaging the brake pedal. This presents a significant safety issue, especially when attempting to pull into oncoming traffic or attempting to pass a slower vehicle. I could depress the gas pedal to the floor with no impact on acceleration. I have had several near misses with oncoming traffic due to failure to accelerate. I took in the vehicle into d-patrick Nissan in evansville, indiana several times and to andy mohr Nissan, indianapolis indiana. In both cases, the dealership was unable to detect any issues with code errors or replicate the issue even after I provide photo evidence of the issue I was having. The failure to accelerate is so random and can happen several days in one week or at least once a week. When it does happen I know it will not change until I can shut down the vehicle and restart. Some instances the failure to accelerate would persist but most of the time is would correct itself after restarting. I am afraid to drive the car with my wife and three children in it. I finally decided to file a complaint after I found another Nissan Pathfinder owner who was having the exact same issue with his Nissan Pathfinder.
I heard a rubbing sound and the passenger side front brake was acting unusual so I took my truck to my mechanic assuming it needed brakes. When the driver front wheel was taken off it was ovious that my brake pad was fine. It was noted that my tires were wearing unevenly and it was also very very ovious that the entire wheel wheel area was corroded, rusted and missing. There was a extremely large hole being the wheel area. Looking further it was noted that the steering column was rubbing against a part of the engine area. That explains the rubbing sound and diffuculty turning the wheel. It was also noted that the suspension was rotted and that the engine measured around 2 inches lower as it was leaning on the drivers side. I was told by my mechanic that the damage was so extensive that it could not be repaired. There wasn't any metal available under the truck to even weld any reinforcement to. The truck was unsafe to drive and to take it to Nissan. We never went any further with an inspection of the passenger side ect. I did take it to Nissan in the afternoon and was called the following morning and told my truck was fixed. I was told they replaced the strut on the drivers side and put some fiberglass underneath the truck. They did say that it passed their 100 and something point safety check. They never addressed anything else. I have been without transportation for a week now.
While driving on highrise pkg lot hear grinding noise, once outside I got to corner stop and turning to the right I step on the brakes, however the car would not stop. It took approximately one car length to come to stop moving, all the time with the brakes applied to the bottom. No other incident for a week. Two Sunday's ago at church the same happen, apply brakes and car continue moving , it took about a car lengths to come to stop. Luckily there was no one walking at the church parking. It is at the dealer since then for repair. Is waiting (9days)for the esc module, which went bad and without it, they can not determine the brakes problem. Once that is replace they will test the abs computer because nothing appears to be wrong with the mechanical/physical parts of the brakes. The car has gave all the schedule maintenance bless you the book at the dealers service shop for Nissan.
Overdrive in transmission makes car downshift or up shift causing major issues while driving! loss of control, accidents. . . . Blown transmission at this point.
Radiator coolant leaked into transmission causing permanent transmission failure.
I purchased my Pathfinder in may of 2013. I loved my SUV initially. Starting around July of 2014 - I started experiencing shuddering while driving. Thought maybe I needed new tires. Beginning in August - started noticing that when accelerating from a stop that I would lose power and it would stay about 20 mph & after pumping the gas pedal several times then it would kick in. It started happening more and more. This past Sunday while starting to accelerate up a hill, my Pathfinder just wouldn't kick in. Stayed at about 25 mph & I had to put on my emergency breaks until I reached the top of the hill & then it kicked in. Then the next day as I was merging onto the freeway with my 2 children in the car & my daughters friend, my car just lost its power. Continued to drive at maybe 20 mph even with my foot pressed all the way down on the gas pedal. This was a very scary experience for myself & my kids. We could have been totally rear ended. There are so many complaints here. Does Nissan need to wait until someone is tragically killed before making steps to issue a recall? I did take my car in today to the dealership with print outs of the comments here & told them I would not drive my Pathfinder & put my family in jeopardy until the issue is fixed. They did give me a rental car & contacted me by the end of the day today that they received approval to replace the transmission & will continue to do further testing on the shuddering & reason that the transmission needs to be replace on a vehicle that is a little over a year old. Please with the dealerships response. I have always driven Honda's or Acura's and made the mistake to try Nissan. This will be my last Nissan purchase! I am also posting this on facebook to spread the word about the Pathfinder. Maybe that will get a recall going!.
Tl-the contact owns a 1997 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 55 mph, the vehicle swayed left to right independently. The contact reduced speed and was able to gain control of the vehicle. The failure recurred multiple times. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000. Djr.
I was traveling at highway speeds going about 60mph and the car suddenly jerked nearly giving me whiplash. I then looked down at the gauge cluster and no lights were on and everything seemed normal, and in about 5 seconds it did it again. . . I slowed down as fast as I could to merge over and get out of traffic and as I went to pull off the car shut down and I could not get it restarted. I had to have it towed to my house and parked it for a few days. The battery went dead from trying to start it so much so I took it to a o'reily and found the battery to be bad so it was replaced. The car then started up and I drove slowly around my nieghborhood and it seemed ok. The next day my wife took it back to o'reliy to have the alternator tested and it was fine. I thought maybe it was something wrong to cause it to shut down like that and as she was driving home it did the same thing again. After much research it seems that this is a known issue with Nissan Pathfinders and that they did not let the owners know about the issue with the radiator fluid mixing with the tranny fluid and rendering the vehicle useless. I called Nissan today and was told that I am out of luck since the vehicle is out of warranty.
Car stalled while driving on interstate almost causing a crash. Dealer says it was camshaft and crank sensors charged me $609. 00 to repair. Car had only 86,261 miles and should not have electrical problems. No recall on something that can cause car to shut off? currently having to get the fuel tank pressure sensor replaced costing another $250 not including installation. Current mileage is only 106k.
Transmission started vibrating badly at 55 or more mph causing us to pull off the road in a very unsafe environment in the freeway. We waited for 3 hours for a tow truck.
I was driving the car about 20 to 25 mph but when I tried to brake the brake did not stopped the car and there was an accident my self and my girl friend got injured and we had to go for crayaprator for long time this car is not safe at all north american Nissan is not willing to work with me nor the abc Nissan where I bought the car. Bad customer service.
I had complained to trophy Nissan, progressive insurance, wells fargo, and platinum collision about the very problem that I just received a recall about. My complaints were treated as not having merit. I had specifically described the seemingly loss of control on pavement that was slightly rough. I also asserted that when I applied brakes the Pathfinder seemed to lunge forward. In this accident I was the interstate near downtown dallas moving one lane to my left as traffic slowed and stopped. I was aware of the slowing traffic and I reacted accordingly. As traffic actually stopped I recall not being overly concerned that I was a safe stopping distance but when I applied the brake my Pathfinder seemed to lunge forward and I struck the rear of the vehicle in front of me. I again stated my concerns after the fact and was not deemed accurate. The Pathfinder spent 2 months in the shop waiting on parts and my insurance premium doubled. I refused to pay the elevated premium because I simply did not have it and I did not make any payments on the Pathfinder to wells fargo during the 2 months and the Pathfinder has subsequently been repossessed do I have actionable recourse?? what's next with this complaint?? I tried in vain to get progressive to recognize a diminished value claim. This could have saved me money and my car as the wreck was truly not my fault but it was ruled my fault because I was the rear vehicle and texas has no diminished value for insured being at fault. Tried in vain to get wells fargo to help me but all parties were scared to death of progressive insurance with the exception of platinum collision. Their only standing in this case is as the body shop approved by progressive.
The vehicle starts swaying dangerously, at a speed of 20 of mph . At a higher speed the car will starts back swaying and fish tailing and would flip specially on a wet roads, no control to it.
I just purchased this vehicle less than 2 weeks ago,on July 2nd while driving down the road I came upon a few slight rough spots in the road, this suddenly caused the vehicle to sway back and forth violently,as if someone way rocking a boat of jerking the steering wheel back and forth, after applying the brakes it stopped for a bit until more rough spots in the road or if speeding up or slowing down caused the same problem,I had my grand kids in the back seat at the time,it scared us all to pieces, because I just bought this vehicle I need it,has Nissan called a recall on this problem? I'm seeing many, many more people online with the same problem with the same year and make as mine? this is dangerous and needs to be addressed by a professional Nissan mechanic,I need instruction's on how to go about rectifying the problem.
2005 Nissan Pathfinder was locking up & stalling at low speeds June 2013. I took it to Nissan & paid $400 for supposedly a bad camshaft & bad crankshaft. Not more than a month later the vehicle is stalling yet again. Furious I took my vehicle to a non Nissan dealer. The other mechanic felt ecm recall & faulty ecm was the cause. He took it back to Nissan & insisted the do the recalled part & the bad ecm. Service was upset that he went in there telling them the problem. They free of charge got my car going again. Supposedly my key had "reset" itself. Which "could be caused by a battery being dead for too long or being jump started". Our battery was new & only maybe 6 months old. Nissan service manager claimed she checked the ground & it was all ok. Just the catalytic converters needed replacement for about $2000 but were not the cause of stalling or the key resetting itself. She insisted the ecm was good & the recalled part had nothing to do with it. A week later & here I am again with a car that wont start. This time the Nissan tech came to the store where I was stranded at. His machine couldn't even read the codes & he said maybe it was ground wires in my dash or the ecm but hard to say unless I paid to have it looked at again! of course I have no choice but for them to look at it. I wouldn't mind as most for minor repairs/maitenance but it seems this year/model is pure crap. After reading other complaints I realize that my car shaking at 60+ miles when I do hit the freeway is a huge problem as well! we live in a small town where we don't usually drive those high speeds so I never really thought much of it until now. Nissan knows very well these are huge problem cars yet doesn't care! these vehicles are not safe. The stalling has happened at intersections or driving!!.
When slowing to a light at a very low speed ( approx. 5 mph), there was a grinding or rubbing sound. The abs, vdc off and slip lights came on. According to the manual this means that there is one or more issues with the traction control and/or abs brake system. I saw that there have been recalls on this for 2006 and 2008 models so I assume there is also an issue with 2007 ones.
I found this video on youtube, this the same noise I feel when iam driving my 2013 Pathfinder. I already took it in to the dealership they say it needed and added cvt fluid cause it was low on it. It seems that was not the issue cause the cvt jerking and the lost of power when driving is still there. The VIN number is 5n1ar2mm8dc648186,. Thanks for your assistance, I was so happy with the purchase that if this issue is not resolved. I may have to return it, due to the safety concern for myself and family. I have enclosed link also will be there again tomorrow morning for the same issue. . Read more...
I bought my 1997 Nissan Pathfinder a few months ago as my second vehicle to get back and forth to work some 30 miles one way. I can't drive it more than up the street because it has developed a severe swaying defect when driving at speeds over 40 mph. It is so bad that it feels like an amusement park ride!. It is very very dangerous to drive on the highway. After looking on the internet to try to get some information about this problem, I found out that there are way too many comments from people over several years that have experienced this "death sway" that it is actually appalling that Nissan or the consumer safety department hasn't stepped in to correct this dangerous problem. The majority of the people found that it is a rear upper and lower bushing arm that seems to fix the problem but at a hefty expense of up to $1,000. A life shouldn't have to be taken for Nissan to accept responsibility for this well documented defect. Nissan not being held accountable for this defect is inexcusable.
My Nissan Pathfinder 2005 stall and wont acclerate I put a new engine 3500 a new gas pump350 a vale body 2000 now they want put another part 1600.
I was driving my vehicle when suddenly the front wheels locked. The engine went off and the power steering was also locked -up and I lost control, the car spun out, and hit the jersey barrier with the back.
I had multiple posting previously on my 2006 brand new Nissan Pathfinder. First problem was with the ecm which was later fixed for about $2000, later Nissan reimbursed. As lithia spring GA. Nissan dealership had my SUV to fix the ecm, on day of pick up, 2 front catalytic converters were defective evidence by a loud hollow noise which the dealership denied. Few months later I was notified by Nissan manufacturers to take my SUV for a recalled maintenance on radiator assemble issues. I took my SUV to the same dealership with my noticed, the dealership refused to complete the recalled maintenance and claimed that my SUV had a higher mileage than what the manufacturers are recalling. Two weeks later my SUV went into a cloud of smoke with a rooting eggs odor and as I towed the car to the same dealership, I was charge $98 to complete diagnostic and I was informed the valves body, the transmission sensor and my transmission need a replacement for the total of offer $5000. I managed to complete payment on the car, I had just cancelled the registration on my SUV. I still need help to get my SUV running again. At the time of purchased I drove of with only 20 miles in my SUV. It is un-acceptable that Nissan and Nissan dealership around the nation would not stand out to take full responsibilities to their defective products; rather, to try to clean out the pockets of Nissan owners. I had a service manager at Nissan lithia spring GA. Asked me what type of job am I doing? I told him that is irrelevant. My speed on the day my SUV went into full white smoke was between 35-40 miles.
Whenever I reach an excess speed of 40+ and take my foot off the gas the car rocks back and forth uncontrollable. I am a mother of four and the is a very terrifying experience for both me and my children.
Vdc / abs / lights on and have no reason for it.
Transmission gave out on me while traveling with family on highway. The problem was due to faulty parts Nissan has placed on the Pathfinder. My finding to the problems not only included transmissions problems not covered under warranty but also other defects in which they are unwilling to pay for. I hope it doesn't take for someone to die for them to get this is a serious problem. Americans are in danger due to this company and it's cars!.
My wife was driving a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder on 12/24/08. Road condition was wet with some slush. The traction light (slip) and low tire indicators were on as this was an on going problem with flagpole Nissan in oneonta NY and they were aware of this. All of a sudden there was a slight sudden acceleration of the vehicle with a complete loss of brakes. The vehicle fishtailed then eventually rolled over two times. She was driving at approx 45 mph. The vehicle rolled over 2 lanes of traffic, being stopped by several trees, so in addition to rollover damage, severe front end damage resulted, the impact into the trees severe enough to cause the front end to bend, so one front wheel points left while the other points right. Side curtain airbags deployed fully, dashboard airbags did not. The airbags were repaired by the dealer a few months ago when the air bag warning light came on, but there repair only corrected the warning light but its operation was still flawed. This can be proved as after the accident, my mechanic accessed the codes stored and found numerous faults, some being air bag control unit failure and crash zone comm. And unit failure, among other related trouble codes. Also at the repair shop, the engine started like a top, no warning lights were on and the brakes had full power (there was no brake fluid leak). My wife had injuries to her head, (from hitting the steering wheel), neck, back and leg injuries and was taken to the hospital. The vehicle was totaled by the insurance company.
