2 Power Window problem of the 2008 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 02/21/2012

I took my certified Pathfinder in for a faulty window switch and while it was there had them check the power train for a noise I was hearing every initial 1st to 2nd gear shift after start up. Dealer notified me that the transmission fluid was contaminated or incorrect fluid. I was then told I would have to cover the cost of replacing the fluid. I contacted Nissan consumer affairs, as not only is the vehicle covered by the Nissan certified pre-owned program, but I also bought their security plus warranty. The transmission service is not due for another 6,000 miles, and the fluid should not be contaminated or be the wrong color and have the viscosity of water, per the dealership service dept. They are not even advising a standard transmission service, they want to replace all the fluid, as what is currently in the system is unusable. Nissan cpo is denying my claim to have the transmission fixed, taking the stance that they do not warranty fluids. I am not asking them to warranty the fluid, standard maintenance is my responsibility. However there is an issues as to how/why the fluid got contaminated and is no longer usable, and needs to be flushed. Nissan does not want any part in addressing that issue, even though their cpo and security plus warranties are supposed to cover the engine and drive train. As it turns out there are several other having similar issues, apparently there is an issues in the radiator, which also has the transmissions cooler build into it, allowing coolant to seep into the transmission fluid. Knowing this Nissan is still taking the stance that they do not warranty fluids and is refusing to service the transmission. They are basically asking me to replace the fluid and hope it does not get contaminated again and hope no other issues arise from a transmission operating for who know how long with bad fluid that was the incorrect viscosity.

3 Power Window problem of the 2011 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 12/14/2010

An autodown feature on the front windows of my 2011 Nissan Pathfinder will roll the windows down because the buttons on the keyfob are not recessed. Pressing the open button on the remote for more than three seconds causes the windows to roll down. The buttons on the remote are not recessed and can become depressed from being in your pocket or by leaning against something with the keys in your pocket. His can result in a ruined interior or ruined interior electronics or interior contents theft.

2002 Pathfinder started swaying all over the place on freeway. Take foot off gas and it calms. Took to mechanic and it was the bushings/bearings. Replaced them for a total of $380. Also, have had to replace driver and passenger side window motors. . . Twice!!.

6 Power Window problem of the 2004 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 01/26/2004

2004 Nissan armada: subject:automatic windows. Brought to the market years ago, they have until now worked in automatic mode for the "roll down" of windows (mainly drivers window). The new armada allows for "roll-up" of windows in the automatic mode also. As I work in the auto industry I can recall this option coming to market and discussing the dangers to small children who would accidentally roll up a window on limbs and neck. It should be self evident. Nissan needs to discontinue if not recall. There can only be injuries, death and lawsuits gained from this vehicle option.

7 Power Window problem of the 2001 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 06/14/2001

While driving truck on a side street, the rear door passenger side window exploded/ shattered. My daughter got out of the vehicle and saw no people or anything that would cause this. I reported the event to the dealer to no avail. They claim "impossible, something had to hit it". I then reported to Nissan customer hotline, also to no avail. They claim it is not covered under the Nissan warranty.
