3 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/20/2022

I've had nothing but problems with my suspension and here in the past week or so I've been smelling like wires are either getting to hot or wires actually burning.

4 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/02/2021

The tpms lamp for tire pressure sensor, stays on. It appears there may have been a recall on this. I just made a complaint about the passenger airbag light showing it does not sense when a passenger inns in the front passenger seat with seatbelt fastened and car is running or driving. I just bought this car from a private party. Below is the picture of the lighted tpms pressure sensor lamp.

5 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2020

Tl the contact owns a 2008 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that passenger occupant classification system was defective and would not operate as needed. Due to the failure, the passenger's side air bag remained turned off while the vehicle was being driven. The contact initially took the vehicle to don franklin lexington Nissan (3360 richmond rd, lexington, ky 40509) where the combination sensor was replaced however, the failure persisted. Upon returning the vehicle to the original dealer, the contact was informed that the vehicle had a defective OCS sensor and that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 08v521000 (air bags, electrical system). 7 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2020

The gas gauge drops to empty and the low fuel light will come on when the car is started almost all of the time. And the fuel gauge will show half full after being filled or even while driving. It may also show empty at anytime. It may or may not return to the true level in the tank at some point. You simply do not know how much fuel is in the tank without using the trip odometer to track your mileage between fill ups. The gauge is operationally useless. Additionally, the "service engine soon" light comes on and stays on with this making the state inspection a problem and requiring a regular check to make sure something else hasn't gone wrong. Monitor code displayed is po463-fuel level sensor a circuit high input. Nissan really needs to diagnose and fix whatever the problem may be. This is an ongoing dangerous situation for many Nissan rouge owners based on what I have seen in complaints on this same problem posted to the internet car forums and my own experience.

8 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/08/2019

Opened my car, started the car, could not get out of my car. The doors would not open. Had to get out through the trunk area. Tried to open/close the car door with the key, the car locked and unlocked at the same time. The vehicle was stationary. On a city street.

9 Electrical System problem

10 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 05/15/2018

The engine's electrical module that controls the head lights, windshield wipers and and air conditioning electrically failed when the car was in motion driving on a highway in north carolina. Serious safety problem. Banister Nissan dealership, chesapeake, virginia just told me that the Nissan manufacturing plant will not make and release this part for repair use until a month from now. Will have to drive this vehicle home in daylight and hopefully, no rain for 80 miles with this electrical issue. Cannot believe Nissan would be so cavalier about such a serious problem. Dealership refused to press our case with Nissan corporate headquarters.

11 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/07/2018

My Nissan Roguenwas one of the first models introduced in 2008. Since then there have been a few recalls that my Rogue hasn't been eligeable for. One of my recalls right now is the sensor in the pending under the seat for the airbag. The recall says the sensor will still be illuminated when a passenger is sitting in the seat meaning that the sensor for the air bag is malfunctioning. Have called the dealership and the car manufacturers for Nissan and they just won't help at all.

12 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/08/2017

The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Rogue. While the vehicle was stationary, the vehicle leaked fluid from under the front driver side. 14 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/14/2016

I made a previous complaint on 9/05/2016 (NHTSA id number: 10903665) and have additional information to add. I was told by Nissan rep that my VIN number was included in the recall of the passenger seat sensor. They said the sensor was checked in 2008 and was ok, therefore, they were no longer responsible for any failure of that part. The original part that was recalled is the part that is still in my vehicle. That part has failed. I got records from the Nissan dealer that the vehicle was taken to for that recall and they show that they did the recall on 12/01/2008 and they also show they did another OCS inspection on 02/09/2010 due to customer complaint. Evidently there was a problem with it at that time. They did not change the part. My guess is that they reset it and that worked at that time. I now have a vehicle that would be unsafe for anyone in the passenger seat and that requires approximately $1,700 to replace a part that is under recall by Nissan that they claim no responsibility for. This company needs to be made to back up the voluntary recall on this vehicle for the numerous individuals experiencin this issue. Also, people checking VIN numbers to see if their vehicle was part of that recall need to look further as when I checked my VIN number it did not show that it was part of the recall even though it actually was part of that recall.

15 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/08/2016

The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that the air bag warning light illuminated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 118,000.

16 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 04/06/2016

The contact owns 2008 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that after the vehicle was taken to be serviced, the air bag warning light illuminated. The contact stated that no warning light was illuminated prior to the repair. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that spiral cord reel and air bag needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 107,562.

20 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 05/17/2015

After driving nearly 50 miles on the highway, I got off the exit and stopped at a stop sign. Once it was clear I tried to accelerate but due to some kind of power loss the vehicle would not move. The vehicle lost power and the rpm's dropped under 1000. After a few minutes the power returned to normal and I drove to my original destination. This is the third time this has personally happened to me in this vehicle and I would like to report it so it does not happen to anyone else.

21 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/02/2015

The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while at a stop light, the vehicle was rear ended by another vehicle. The air bags did not deploy. 22 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/15/2015

For the past few weeks, my gas gauge has been reading incorrectly and when I would go to fill out the vehicle, it would never show completely full. In some cases, I would turn on the vehicle and it would read sufficiently less than what was in the tank and then climb back up to what I assume was the correct level. My last fill up, the gauge read 3 bars left of fuel and I pumped 14. 5 gallons of gas at the station which is exactly my gas tank size. I then looked online and discovered several other people with the same make, model, and year and other models were having the same issue but no good fixes appear to have been found.

23 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 05/28/2013

The shift remained in locked when it's parked and will not unlock for me to drive. Leaving myself and my baby stranded. When I checked online, it looks like a known complaint by Nissan Rogue owners. They should recall the vehicle to have it repaired as it's dangerous to have such a defect.

24 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 03/09/2013

The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the air bag light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnosis and the contact was informed that the OCS unit would need to be replaced. Later the contact was informed of a recall for NHTSA campaign number: 08v521000 (air bags , electrical system) but the dealer stated that the mileage was too high to honor the recall. The manufacturer was notified who stated the same. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure and current mileage was 112,000.

28 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/09/2011

On Dec 12, 2011 at 0500 am my 2009 2008 Nissan Rogue had a keyless entry rollaway. The car was turned off and rolled away causing car and property damage (damage to the car door) after turning off my engine I left the car, leaving the car door open and the car rolled away. I believe that this is a major design flaw of keyless entry cars and that it is the responsibility of both the ntsb and Nissan to personally notify people of this major design flaw and to provide corrective action to avoid repeated accidents. Some sort of "fix" such as an automatic lock should prevent the vehicle from leaving rolling away when the car engine is turned off. In reviewing the info available from ntsb I noted that this is a design flaw that has been noted in similar cases involving rollaway accidents and that both industry has not taken corrective action.

29 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/15/2010

Recently I have noticed that when I fill up my 2008 Nissan Rogue that the gas gauge does not read full. Contacting 2 dealers I was told there is no issue they know of. Upon checking on the internet I find there are many complaints, in all year Rogues, and a couple other Nissan models. Nissan has to know about it. Some say theirs stay 1/4 of a tank down, while the majority say an 1/8 of a tank. This false reading could result in people being stranded in desolate places, thereby threatening ones health; or an entire family's health, I know a gentleman who bought a 2011, has less than 5,000 miles on it, and his already has the same issue. This has to be a Nissan issue, as I see on no other auto makes on line. Do you have any data on this? thank you.

30 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/13/2010

Cold day in nyc. The 2008 Nissan Rogue driver's side door fails to open. At first I used the keyless entry system. Then I tried to use the key and it will still not open. I had to go around the passenger side to get into the driver's seat. This is a safety issue especially at nights and dimlit areas. I had this problem before on the passenger side and took it to the dealer. They charged me $250 to fix problem even though this new model is supposed to be under warranty. Nissan needs to address this issue. I will never purchase a Nissan again.

31 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 09/15/2010

I purchased my Nissan Rogue in 2010. Immediately after purchasing it a red warning light displayed on the dash indicating an airbag problem. A mechanic diagnosed the problem as the airbag sensor in the front passenger seat that determines if someone is seated there or not. I was unable to afford a new sensor. I checked NHTSA recalls and located recall# 08v521000. While this sounds like the problem my Nissan Rogue is experiencing, per my VIN, my car is not included in the recall.

32 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2010

The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that the tire pressure and air bag warning lights were illuminated. The contact attempted to repair the vehicle but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was contacted, but denied any assistance with repairs to the defect. The vehicle had experienced similar symptoms as the recall associated with NHTSA campaign id number: 09v393000 ( tires:pressure monitoring and regulating systems), but the VIN was not included in the recall. A local mechanic diagnosed that there was a tire pressure sensor defect. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 30,000 and the current mileage was 50,000.

33 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/09/2009

My wife and I leased a 2008 Nissan rouge two years ago. An issue has since transpired. In October of 2009 we noticed that the passenger airbag light occasionally goes on regardless of the size of the person sitting there. This light indicates that the airbag is off. We took it to Nissan and they could not duplicate the problem. Over this last year the issue continues to arise. I decided to take the vehicle in this past Monday with a routine check. Prior to my dropping the vehicle off I decided to record it on my phone as we were driving seeing as though I could not bring the car to the dealership as soon as it was happening. After the car was there for a few hours, I got a call back saying that there is nothing wrong with the car and they are ready to release. I am still not comfortable driving the vehicle so I left it there and call customer affairs. Finally after 4 days, they returned my call. They indicated that they spoke to the shop and are not authorizing any repairs or paying for the rental vehicle as they could not duplicate the problem. They are refusing to fix this issue and are saying that my 125 lb wife may be too light to activate the bag sensor.

34 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/10/2009

The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Rogue. While driving 30 mph, the tire pressure and air bag warning lights illuminated. The failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the OCS sensor and air pressure sensor failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 8,000.
