3rd attempt to Nissan . I have a 2008 Nissan Rogue with recalls that have not been repaired. Plate is 1681bf2. This has caused the recall issue of the transmission to fail. The car runs but is not safe. They stated this should be repaired at no charge along with the other recalls. Contact me at 256. 679. 6254.

After driving roughly two hours on highway in stop and go rush hour traffic, our 2008 Nissan Rogue lost its ability to accelerate and the rpm would go only slightly above 2000. There were no dashboard warning lights. We pulled over at a rest stop and turned off the engine for ten minutes but the problem persisted. We had to get off the freeway and take back roads out of concern for our safety. We reached our destination, the then car sat for several hours and behaved normally for about an hour on the way back, but then the problem recurred. We only drove short distances for the next month, but on our next long drive the same thing happened again. Our mechanic found no engine codes and does not know what is causing the problem. This all happened only about 3000 miles after we had a new oem transmission installed. For over two months, we have been unable to take any long trips with this car out of concern for both our ability to complete the trip and for our safety as well as the safety of others.
I have a 2008 Nissan Rogue the cruise control light keeps blinking can't find the issue tire pressure light stays on. My driver side door handle will not open the door. Other than that my car runs fine.
Transmission is failing, torque converter problem code p0744, torque converter locks and car won’t make it uphill.
I bought Rogue on the 17th of sept, 2021. 5 days later something in front on passenger side made noise and my steering wheel went to the right. Mechanic said it was rack and pinion that came loose. It was 2 miles after I got off freeway. I could have killed someone! or myself.
My cvt transmission transmission is having major problems and I need to check if there is a recall please email me@tifftaylor7@comcast. Net.
We took the vehicle into vavoline and they told us that the car's transmission pan is almost rusted out and we have a 4 major leaks under our vehicle so bad that the block under the vehicle and the front axel is wet from the fluid leaks. We bought the car two days ago and brought it back to return it today because we were not told about any of these issues and they told us we were not going to get our money back. Even though it would not pass a state emissions test with all those leaks and she not have been sold to us.
Passangers's seat belt light on. Transmission slipping while in moving forward.
All 4 tire pressure sensors stopped working.
Opened my car, started the car, could not get out of my car. The doors would not open. Had to get out through the trunk area. Tried to open/close the car door with the key, the car locked and unlocked at the same time. The vehicle was stationary. On a city street.
After 1hr driving on highway speed drops to approx 50mph altho speed odometer needle stays 60-70mph; rpm at 2 1/2 does not move. Pedal to the metal no reaction. Once approach slower traffic area, speed to like 40mph car drives ok. Told it is the failsafe for overheating transmission!!.
I have just recently noticed a bad vibration with my Nissan . It shakes like your driving over rumble sticks. Even when your at a full stop and give it some gas the rumble effect happen right away from a full stop. Idk, what the problem is. Please help! once you get up to 30 mph the vibration goes away. Slow down make right/left turns boom the vibrations of the rimble sticks right there. Something is wrong.
Driving in summer our 2008 Nissan Rogue list power going up hills. We lost power and car slowed down. Stalked our once. We were doing highway driving.
I purchased a car two years ago 2016 I had to purchase a tour converter for $3500 regulator I need a transmission for $2500 I'm on a fixed income and I don't have this kind of money to put out.
2008 Nissan rouge transmission cvt should not have been built while driving at top speed car shuts completely down or revs up very high. Very serious matter should remove all 2008 off the streets someone will get hurt no matter the year or mileage it's not a safe vechiele!.
I got this car from my daughter in may. This problem started in June, stopped for a while & now in winter (January) it came back & is getting worse to the point I won't drive on freeway anymore. Decelerates at freeway speeds combined with jerking motion. Also does not always accelerate (dogs out) while pressing on gas from complete stop or trying to accelerate in slow traffic causing cars behind to slam on brakes.
Problem 1: I always put my purse on the passenger seat, and the air bag deactivation light turns on on the dashboard. One day, I took the purse off yet the light did not turn off. Ever since then the airbag light has been on. The car has been fixed by Nissan since then for another recall, but the airbag was not fixed as they said it was not a recall. When I took it to Nissan to access having them fix the issue last year, they said I would have to pay about $600 out of pocket. The year it occurred was 2014, and the car has not been driven much since then. Problem 2: the left rear door's handle simply broke off in my hand last year. When I took the car to Nissan to see if they stand behind their handles staying on cars, and would replace it, but they gave me an estimate upwardsnof $600 to repair it. Problem 3: the gas guage does not read properly, as I found put when it ran out of gas yet the car was reading a half full tank. Repair estimate for this issue was about $600. Problem 4: the tires always read as flat, even when taken to get filled by a professional. Nissan's estimate to fix this issue was approximately $600. I was informed by Nissan of the avenues (jacksonville, florida) that there are recalls for every single one of those issues for the 2008 Nissan Rogue, but just not for my specific vehicle.
I think I am a victim of an odometer fraud scheme and wanted to report it. If this is not the place to report it or if I need to do anything further, please let me know. I live in oakland, CA and bought a used car Nissan Rogue 2008 off of craigslist on December 23rd, 2016 for $5000. I bought it for my dtr and she began to have a lot of trouble with it. When I bought it, it was advertised as having 59k miles. We were having some trouble with it that did not fit with the mileage and when we more carefully checked the carfax the mileage on the vehicle previously was 156,788. My name is ted tsukayama the name on the title(seller) is asfour moustafa m (unsure if this is real name now) po box 14604 stanford, CA 94309- the car appears to have been serviced regularly at Nissan sunnyvale in sunnyvale, California 408-470-4151 has been reported to calif dmv;.
While driving at varied speed the Rogue will refuse to accelerate and the rpms will rise, but the car will not go no matter how far you press the accelerator down. This has happened countless times and when I research online it seems to be a common and known issues with Rogues of this year. I have had several near collisions due to this issues.
I bought a new 2008 Nissan Rogue in 2008. I'm on the 3rd transmission on this car. Each time the same thing goes wrong. When the transmission gets hot on a longer than 2 hour trip, it loses power. On 7-23-16 on a 400 mile trip, half way into the trip it starts to slowly lose power. The fastest I can go is 60 mph. Going up hills it's about 45mph at full speed. This is the same thing that happened to the other 2 transmissions. Now I have 128,000 miles on this vehicle. Is it still a free replacement on the transmission? I probably only have about 50,000 miles on this latest transmission. My question is, will the dealer replace it free of charge?.
My 2008 Rogue has vibration in the front ever since I purchased it . . . The dealer has tried to fix it several times . . . Went to nissian 44 4 times and they said it was normal . . Went to a transmission repair place they showed me when my car was on the lift . . . That underneath was knocking back and forth . . Now the dealer and nissian are saying this is normal. . . I feel the vibration most at take off up to 40 over 40 it goes away.
I've had this issue for a couples of years now, my Rogue losses power after driving for about 30 minutes or more on the highway. I've read several complaints in this site and elsewhere of when the problem occur and how it's so hard replicate because there's no engine light. I've already replace my transmission in April 2013 and now my engine lights is on, took it to Nissan and they say it's my transmission valve body. I just hit 126,000 miles on the vehicle and of course my extended warranty expires at 120,000. Nissan needs to seriously consider a recall on this issue before someone gets hurt (if it hasn't happen already).
I was driving down hunt highway going 45 miles per hour when I started to come up a hill and the car came to a near complete stop with no warning because the transmission binding up causing me to almost be rear ended and my tires to skid a little till I pushed on the brakes to try and warn people behind me and had to exit the roadway into a dirt farm field to avoid being hit by oncoming traffic.
On the date listed above the transmission failed. My wife and I were in four lanes of eastbound traffic on i40 in burlington nc. We lost momentum in heavy traffic and were lucky to get off the highway. This car was purchased in March 2008. It had a known issue where grinding noises were coming from the transmission. Nissan finally released a fix and my car was updated on 11/30/2009. I believe the cvt was defective or damaged because of a slow response by Nissan. The car was 20 months old before the company repaired the vehicle so that the grinding noise wasn't present. I asked Nissan for data on failures and - of course - they said that was not available. This issue should be looked into because the catastrophic loss of a transmission could lead to a deadly accident.
The transmission died on my 2008 Nissan Rogue. After purchasing the vehicle in Jun 2008, we heard "whiring" noises. The vehicle was taken to the dealership of purchase and we have the notation that customer complained of whiring. Result was there were no issues. Car has continued to whine through the years, in the past year, it became worse. We took it to our mechanic to be evaluated, and immediately he knew the problem- the cvt transmission. The mechanic did some research and found that Nissan had extended the warranty, very quietly. Since I drive 70+ miles to/from work, my car was already over the warranty limit. Hence, left with 2 options, replacement via a Nissan dealership costing $5,ooo as no viable mechanic will touch the problem. Or get rid of the car. This type of repair was not in our budget nor were we in a position to purchase a new vehicle ( this one was paid for). There was no guarantee when the transmission would go out, other than it evenutally would. Lately, the noise had become much worse and we feared the worst. Thank goodness, the car died in our driveway and not the highway. Nissan knew this was a problem, apparently from the beginning, and is not accepting responsibility.
I first experienced a loss of power in my vehicle while stopped at a red light. When the light turned green I started to go, even with the gas pedal pushed all the way to the floor the car would barely move. The engine would rev, but the car barely had any power. I drove it straight to the dealership where I bought it (hayes Chrysler in gainesville) the stated it was they though the transmission needed to be replaced and sent it to the carriage Nissan garage. After having it there for a few days the technician said he could not duplicate the problem! I left and before I could even get 15 miles down the road I was going approximately 60mph, when all the sudden I started losing speed. Regardless of the fact that I had the gas pedal too the floor! I turned around and took it straight to Nissan, however in the last 10 minutes of my drive to the service shop the problem stopped! they kept it for another day and still could not duplicate the problem and they stated that it was most likely the abs senor that needed to be replaced. We replaced the sensor and I thought all the problems had been solved! wrong!!!! there have been 3 instances were I have had the cruise control set while driving down the interstate, and all of the sudden I start losing speed! there have been 4 instances where I have almost been t-bones with my 2 small children in the car because the car has lost acceleration in the middle of an intersection!!! the morning I took my car to the shop this time (8-25-14) I was almost hit by a semi when my car couldn't get through the green light before it turned red. I have read hundreds of complaints, and fights for a recall on this transmission! my Nissan tech states that if there is no code thrown during the incident then they cannot replace the transmission, yet every case I've read say that no code has shown up at all! this is a danger to owners of this vehicle.
After driving for about 45 minutes on the highway, the vehicle lost power and began decelerating rapidly. After pushing the gas multiple times, the vehicle remained unresponsive and would not accelerate. The vehicle decelerated to 20mph which was very dangerous in an 80 mph speed zone on a state highway. I pulled over and turned off the vehicle for 30 minutes. Upon starting it up again and continuing on my trip, the vehicle repeated the problem within another hour of driving. When this occurs now, vehicle will not accelerate from a full stop. This is extremely hazardous in toll booths or red lights, as other cars take the liberty of driving by as I am pumping the gas. Randomly the car will kick back into gear and jut out into traffic, which has almost caused two different accidents.
Door lock actuator on both front doors froze after freezing rain/ ice storm. In the morning I opened the door and started the car (did not close the door) and went inside the house while it warmed-up. When I returned the drivers side door would not open from the outside or the inside handles. The passenger door had stopped working from the outside handle about 6 weeks earlier after a similar storm, though I was not aware of the relationship of the problem to the weather at the time. When I tried to open the passenger side door from the inside handle on 03/12/2014 it would not open. I was now not able to access the vehicle from either front door. I was able to climb in through the back seat, over the console to turn the car off. I was then directed by Nissan customer affairs to bring the vehicle to a dealership for repair. When accessing the car to drive it to the dealership I strained my back and scratched my hand and arm on the console (no doctors visit). Upon arriving at the dealership in alban, NY I had to crawl out of the car through the back door. A woman pulled up directly behind me who was there to service the same problem with her 2008 Nissan Rogue, though only with one of the front doors. I called all of the Nissan dealerships in the area and they were all servicing at least one 2008 Nissan Rogue with the same issue after the freezing rain storm. The parts were ordered for me to bring the vehicle back for repair. I was told it would take 2 - 3 days for the parts to come in. After 4 business days (6 days) I was called and informed that the parts were back-ordered and would be another several days. The parts were in high demand regionally after the weather event, showing that this is a systematic problem.
We were driving back home when my husband noticed that the car would not accelerate above 65 mph. This occurred about halfway home, so about 200 miles into our drive back home (of the 350 mile total). The car was not overheated, nor was it making noise. He would put his foot down all the way on the accelerator, as if he wanted to go full speed and it would not respond. There weren't any warning lights lit up on the console, and it was not overheated. We immediately called our local Honda dealer and explained the problem we were having. They said we could take the car into them, but we would have to pay $150 just for the inspection of the vehicle, and they confirmed there wasn't a recall so we would also have to foot the bill for the repairs. We stopped to eat and calm our nerves and got back on the road. When we got back in the car, the problem did not start up again until a few months later, during our next long drive away from home, and have avoided taking it on long trips since then. This was my first and last Nissan. I can't wait to get rid of the Rogue! it has proven to be busy with electrical issues.
The car experienced extreme deceleration on the highway. I was unable to accelerate in a minimum 45 mile per hour highway (in puerto rico) when car decelerated and was unable to go more than 5 miles per hour after decelerating for a toll. As I changed lanes to get to the shoulder, I almost caused what could have been a fatal accident of myseld and my infant daughter. I pulled over to the shoulder and shut the car off. I was in the middle of the island and could not afford a tow truck. I waited for two hours and tried starting the car again to see if I could continue. The car seemed back to normal and I made it home. The extreme acceleration has happend to me 2 other times and I cannot afford another vehicle. I recently researched this issue and there is a wide array of people having similar issues and similar experiances and close calls with vehicular accidents. Since the first incident, the car now has 130k miles and does not qualify for the extended warranty. I am an active duty member stationed overseas in puerto rico and did not recieve notification that a warranty was extended. Please help me effect a Nissan recall in cvt engines in the select models mentioned in their consumer affars website. Thank you for your time.
After traveling 50 miles, my 2008 Nissan Rogue failed to accelerate at the first stop light. This occurred again on 7/17/2013. I traveled 50 miles and again the car failed to accelerate at the first stop. I called Nissan consumer affairs and they claim not to have any knowledge of this type of incident occurring in the Rogue. I researched various forums on the internet and it seems to be prevalent in Nissan's cvt transmission. The Nissan rep said that "Nissan doesn't support google" when I told her what was being reported on the internet. This is a serious safety issue that puts my family at risk of serious injury. The car is scheduled for service next week. I fear that Nissan is not being accountable for this issue from what I've read.
My 2008 Nissan Rogue has a tendency to lose power on the highway after being driven for over a long period of time at a constant speed, usually about 45 minutes to an hour at 75 miles an hour. The vehicle will start my making a weird whistling or whining noise then after that you cannot accelerate it'll be stuck at whatever speed your going. When I come across a bridge or a hill it'll slow down a bit then accelerate once I'm going downhill then stop at a specific mph, no matter how much I press on the gas it will not go any further. When I off the highway and come to a complete stop and try to take off again it will not respond right away then it will take off with me as I'm pressing the gas, almost resulting in me running into other vehicles several times. When I take the vehicle to Nissan it doesn't give any error codes or show that anything is wrong. Nissan cannot replicate the problem because the're not willing to pay someone to go drive the vehicle for over that long period of time. I commute to work and church on the highway five times a week and experience this just about every single day. I did however take the car to my local mechanic and he experience what the car is doing and he noticed Nissan put too much fluid in my transmission when they replaced it after it stopped on me previously on the highway, that did solve the problem for several months but now it's doing the same thing again. I called Nissan corporate they inform me there's no recall on the vehicle. I did a internet search and there are so many people with the same story and was even covered by the news station. One other thing they all have in common is that no one had that issue fix or know what is causing the problem. I recently rent a vehicle because I refuse to let my wife and one year old in the car by themselves.
