1 Side/rear Glass problem

Failure Date: 07/02/2010

While driving ~65mph on the interstate in steady traffic on dry asphalt, the passenger-side rear door window "exploded. " the passenger seats were in the down (flat) position; most of the glass fell in to the car, but enough blew out of the car to embed in/scratch the exterior paint. Nissan dealer in the area of our travel vacuumed the glass out of the car and loosely covered the window space with masking tape and plastic seat covers (the kind used to cover the seat for transport and/or garage work). Since this was a road trip several hundred miles from home, we had to reinforce the plastic cover job with heavy cardboard, additional plastic, and tape so we could drive the interstate and protect the car from further damage, wind, and rain. I contacted my home dealership to advise of the incident and request that parts be ordered to make repair ASAP after I returned home and to find out if incident is covered by factory warranty. Repair is delayed by holiday weekend; warranty coverage has not been determined. Luckily, we had no back seat passengers.

2 Side/rear Glass problem

Failure Date: 07/17/2008

2008 Nissan Rogue: back rear window behind the driver's side exploded sending glass all over the car and on the driveway. The car had been driven about 15 prior to the incident. I reported the incident to the Nissan dealer where I purchased the vehicle. He would not even talk to me. He said it was not under their warranty and that it belonged to me and the bank now. I turned it in to my comprehension insurance and had the window replaced. The glass hit the seat so hard that it embedded about 2 inches deep into the seat. The seat cover had to be replaced as well. Also, the paint on the door was scratched from the glass coming down the side of the car. I had to get the vehicle fixed myself (with insurance) at a cost of over $1900. Nissan said that all of their cars were checked thoroughly so there is no way that there could be a defect even though this is a new model for Nissan and I am sure they do not have all the facts on this model as yet.

3 Side/rear Glass problem

Failure Date: 03/27/2008

Glass from moonroof exploded/shattered to pieces while driving. Temperature was 50 degrees, speed of 60 mph, nothing hit the glass to cause it to break. Took delivery of the car 1 week prior to incident. Dealer replaced glass and said it was defective.
