Engine.
Cvt transmission will not switch gears efficiently causing the vehicle to move slow in high speed roads & highways.
Front engine cradle subframe crossmember bushing kits have issues due to which I am getting constant sound from the engine. This seems to be a regular complaint with my kind of vehicle. Which is Nissan rougher 2009 sl.
Got the SUV in may 2017 used and this year 2018 it did not pass n. Y. State inspection po448- evaporative emission sytem vent contral circuit shorted #p0455 evaporative emission system leak detected large leak. Resulits - fail. Note how did this pass last year ? it has 59,841 mileage.
Issue when driving at first for long periods. The car will start to slow down. Can't or won't accelerate. I call about this issue 2 years ago and I was dismissed. But I see there's a class action lawsuit in other states, describing the same issue with different Nissan models. The cvt. . . I would think if theres an issue Nissan, being as big as they are would address it. But it looks like all you companies like to to is shove us under the rug . I like my car and it's not fair that I'd have to go to such length to have this addressed. I've had maintenance done which is costly and still no tix. . .
While taking a family trip in July 2017 weeks ago on i95 driving after about an hour, the vehicle would not accelerate once the speedometer hit 65 to 70. At certain times trying to move into another lane the vehicle wouldn't accelerate even when pressing the gas pedal to the floor and at times while driving it also started to decelerate. It displayed the same problem again when traveling on the highway the following week after about an hour. Extremely dangerous especially when trying to merge or move out of the way of another vehicle that is behind you.
The car will not go over 40 miles per hour on mountain passes. It is very scary when sharing a 2 lane highway with trucks. It overheats and you are stuck. I am not the only one with a 2009 Rogue having this issue. It needs to be recalled and repaired by Nissan not by the consumer.
The contact owns a 2009 Nissan rouge. While driving approximately 60 mph, the rpm gauge fluctuated without warning, causing the vehicle to accelerate and decelerate independently. The failure recurred three times. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic twice, but the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was later taken to a dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The VIN was invalid. The failure mileage was approximately 87,000.
When I was traveling on the highway for over an hour going 80 mph, the vechicle quickly deccelerated and when I stepped on the pedal for gas all the way to the floor it did not accelerate. It was very scary since there were are traveling behind me and I was afraid they would crash into me. This has happened every time I take my vehicle on the highway traveling for over an hour for the past year. I am terrified I am going to cause a crash while traveling with my child, this is definitely a safety hazard.
While driving a highway on 65 mph sudden loss of acceleration occurs. Pressing the acceleration pedal does not make any effect on a car speed. Rpm falls to 1-2k and did not goes up. Was able to pull over and stop. After 15 minutes with the engine turned off, problem disappears. This happened for the third time, as a previously,it occurs after a long drive (more than 3 hours) or on a high speed (more than 75 mph). It is a safety concern when a car decelerated from 65 to 30 mph on a highway.
I have had my car for four years now, and early this last year, my engine light came on, had it checked out, and they stated I had a leak near my gas cap, so they advised me to purchase a new gas cap, because the suction was go on the old one, I did that, and the next day, I though came back on, I went back to them, and they stated that the way that the leak is, overtime I got gas, I would need to push in the cap and that should seal it. Needless to say that didn't work, it been months later and I have had four different parts related on the vehicle that did not need replacing and my light is still on! they can't figure out what is cause it to come on. The other issue is that my car will not accelerate up hills, I have to have the rpm's on 4 or 5 just to get the car up the hill, and then going down the hill, I car sound like something is wrong. I was told nothing is wrong with it, but I know there is something wrong, it should not sound like that. The next issue that I a having is that my ac compressor is shot. I have been trying to get it replaced all summer now, and for some reason, my car will not accept any of the new ones, I have had about three new ones, I have no clue what to do next. I am moving to georgia in a few weeks, and I am going to need ac!.
My transmission got stuck in 1st gear when pulling out onto a busy road, causing me to have pull over and almost getting hit by other vehicles, when I took it to my mechanic and then a licensed Nissan dealership I was informed it was the transmission and furthermore informed that on the consumer affairs Nissan website it states they have had many problems with this transmission and doubled the warranty from 60,000 miles to 120,000 miles due to this defective transmission, on not just my model and year but over 8 years and 3 different models of Nissans however because I was 5000 miles over the warranty they would not help me pay for the $3586 I had to pay to make the vehicle driveable and secondly what if this transmission would have gotten stuck or went out on a hwy where I was doing 65 mph Nissan should also be responsible for the cost for getting this defective product fixed I call them several times at consumer affairs and they will not assist me at all because I am 5000 miles over the warranty the public needs to know how terrible of a company this is and how dangerous this could be for others who own these vehicles.
I was travelling on a highway on a long distance trip and after about 2 1/2 hours, my vehicle won't accelerate past 60 mph as I was passing another vehicle. It was dangerous this happened because vehicles(including big trucks) behind me had to brake because of my unexpected no acceleration. There were no warning lights lit on the instrument panel to indicate anything wrong. After a the rest stop, the vehicle went back to normal but did it again while returning three days later and after driving for more than two and half hours. Called Nissan customer service and was told to take it to Nissan dealer to get checked. Called dealer and I have appointment next week.
The car went into "limp mode" unexpectedly and does not move. Nissan's older cvt transmission gets hot and to protect itself, Nissan has it programmed to shut itself down. As a result, the car will not move, even though it is in gear. This happens after long higtway drives (1 hour +) or when climbing long hills. The dealer solution is to continually flush the transmission fluid every 30k miles at a cost of over $200 each time. This is very very very dangerous, if you are making a left-hand turn into traffic after coming to a stop, there is a huge potential to be involved in a collision. Additionally, when on the highway, climbing a hill, the car has again, gone into limp mode and slowed down to a crawl, making the vehicle behind you almost rear-end you. Additionally, Nissan's answer has been to extend the warranty on the transmission to 120k, but that is of no value because the dealers will never admit that the cvt needs replacing nor does it pay for the $250 cvt flush. Please look into this, it is very very very dangerous.
Vehicle lost acceleration while changing lanes and crashed with another faster car.
