I have a 2009 Nissan rouge. The cvt transmission is failing. I know there was a recall on certain 2009 rouges for this. Mine is not on the recall list but I think it should be. Its leaking fluid bad, just all of a sudden. It won’ t accelerate after I stop at a traffic light , it’s sluggish, sometimes it feels like the engine is going to fall out when I do finally get it to go, it smells hot, it sputters and jerks when on freeway and in traffic I’m not sure what it’s going to do. I’m a 67 year old woman who is on a fixed income. I can’t afford a new car or to have another transmission put in this one. Nissans are suppose to last forever. They are supposed to be reliable cars. I need help.
2009 Nissan Rogue with less than 60,000 original miles won't accelerate even when pushing down the throttle pedal. On the highway, once driven for a while, it will not maintain speed no matter how much throttle is applied. Research seems to indicate a transmission design flaw. There are lots of similar complaints that can be found on-line. I feel this is very much a safety hazard.
Recall -harness connector (torque converted solenoid circuit intermittent) previous recall wasn't completed properly as I continue to experience intermittent erratic behavior of the power train and related circuitry, two weeks after the manufacturer said they fixed the harness connector inspect and replace recall (rogue connect) that was place on the car. The car jerks uncontrollably when driving at high speed on the highway or hesitates at stop then takes off suddenly at high speed. I like for the manufacturer to look into this and properly address this recall by fixing this issue with this vehicle they built which I still current drive. A diagnostic scan was done at autozone and I was told the torque converter solenoid circuits are intermittent and that it's due to a damaged transmission wiring harness that is either loose or open circuit in the system and may cause a fire.
When stopped car starts a smell like gas.
When I am driving on highway or freeway the speed is decreasing little by little I am really scared because it is a risky situation.
Defective door handle/locking assembly. Both front doors handle assembly froze up preventing me from opening both doors. In the mean time my wife had climb from the back seat to open thedoor from the inside. One time she stopped at the top of the driveway to get the mail on a snowy windy day, she pulled up next to the mailbox got out for a second and the door blew shut locking my 2 year old son, the keys and her phone in the back seat thankfully neighbor was home and used a coat hanger to activate the latch . This could have been much worse. I called the local dealer ship and paid 99 bucks to diagnose and they say I need to replace the latches and it will cost about 900 bucks !! online and another mechanic have said this is a recalled issue and the latches freeze and they will replace free of charge and there is even and addendum to ad additional insulation to latches to prevent future freeze ups. I am going to try to call another dealership and corporate nisaan if I have too. Some one please help me with information on this saftey issue.
Horn will only work when the wheels are turned to the right.
Can would not accelerate once I was at a stop. Would try and go and vehicle would go an estimated speed of 5mph this is extremely dangerous when trying to turn or pull into an intersection. Not knowing if my vehicle would go without issues or lose power and pull in front of a car going dangerously slow. This has happen about 10times and random days/times. This is a continuing problem.
The vehicle will suddenly lose acceleration for no reason. I brought this car for my granddaughter and she has almost gotten hit a couple of times because of this problem. I have read several complaints about this same issue. She was driving on the interstate and all of the sudden the speed dropped all the way down to thirty then to twenty. She had to pulled over onto shoulder and wait about ten minutes before she could proceed, it still would not go over forty even though she had the pedal floored. Since this is a problem with so many cars please make Nissan fix it.
I purchased my 2009 Nissan Rogue in December 2016 with 110k miles on it. In March 2017 I began noticing issues with my vehicle while on long trips. The first long trip I took was in March 2017 and about 150 miles into the trip my vehicle would not accelerate over 65-70mph which is very dangerous when the speed limit is 85mph. The issue did not resolve itself and I turned my vehicle off for several hours and did not have any problems after that. I have been working with the dealership I purchased it from to diagnose the problem and was told it was a cvt transmission problem. After further research I found that Nissan actually issued an extended warranty for this issue but did not issue a recall. My vehicle is outside of the extended warranty period but the exact issue I am having is the exact issue the warranty was extended for. I was unaware of any extended warranty when I purchased the vehicle because I did not purchase from a Nissan dealership. I have contacted Nissan consumer affairs and they have offered to fix the issue at 50% cost to me. I am not okay with paying 50% of a repair for a known defect on their cvt transmissions for my model year. Why wasn't a recall issued on this? this is dangerous. I was almost rear ended twice because my vehicle would not accelerate and I should be able to take my vehicle on long trips without worrying about transmission failure. There is an internal whistle in my transmission and I was told by the repair tech at Nissan that this is the first indication of the cvt issue. I will not be paying for this repair, a recall needs to be issued on this problem. There are many other Nissan consumers with the same issue and I will be joining a class action lawsuit on this matter as well.
After driving a long period time usually about 40 minutes into driving. Car does not accelerate actually loses power. Start to decelerate. This can cause and injury or maybe death when on the highway.
My Nissan Rogue will periodically stop acceleration while I am driving on the highway. I have the pedal pushed all the way down and the car will not accelerate. I will be going the posted speed and for no apparent reason, my car will start to DE-accelerating on its own. After reading several complaints I am finding out that this is due to the cvt transmission in this particular model. This is a safety hazard to anyone who is driving this car. Also, I have noticed a loud noise when I put the car in gear, which I am reading is a sign that the transmission is going out. I purchased an extended warranty on this vehicle but none of the repairs that I have listed are covered. This car is a piece of junk and I will not get anything for it upon trade-in. I am stuck with this car, and have put over $3,000 in this car already over the last 6 months.
Tl - the contact owns a new after market monroe/tenneco front wheel struts; part number 72609/72608; bought from advance auto (4240 miller rd, columbus, GA 31909) and they were placed in a 2009 Nissan rouge by the contacts husband. The vehicle was taken to dealer headquarter Nissan (1725 whittlesey rd, columbus, GA 31904. 706-225-8100) for maintenance work and the dealer indicated that the struts had fractured due to stress, because they were 2 inches longer than the manufacturer's struts. The dealer also stated the tow alignment was off and the control arm had failed due to the fractured struts. The struts were not original equipment. The manufacturer was notified and informed the contact they were not original parts. The failure mileage was approximately 106,532. Jc.
When driving the car would start shaking and making funny noises in the back. The car eventually would not accelerate and started smoking. Took it the dealer was informed it had a broken axle and also has coupler issue. I had the axle replaced. But it still shakes and makes noises when turns are made. I was informed by a Nissan mechanic this is a common problem in the Rogue.
I have a 2009 Nissan Rogue. I have had this vehicle since 2012 and it just came to my attention, while I was in park, in my driveway when my 6 yr old was asking my about what the letters next to the gear shifter meant when he grabbed the shifter, engaged the button and pulled it down into reverse without me applying the break. I thought to myself, it should not have done that. I thought maybe I had a recall on my vehicle that I might not have known about, so I looked it up and there was nothing for my vehicle. However for the 2015 models, some of them did have a recall for a rollaway problem. I called my dealer and asked them about my problem and they told me that because there was no recall on my vehicle there was nothing they could do about the problem unless I wanted to pay for a diagnostic and for them to find out what the problem was. I looked up this problem and it is around a $700 fix. If there was a recall on the 2015 models there could be a possiblitiy that my vehicle could have the same problem.
Outside latches failed simultaneously car was parked winter day 25 degrees f (car was stored outside all evening and driven). Passenger could not get out. I got out and went to unlock door and no luck, tried key and no luck. Went to drivers side door and could not get in. Had to enter the vehicle from the rear doors. Vehicle had history of this being replaced, but as a second used car owner was not told of problem and Nissan says because I was not considered a loyal customer and that the doors were no longer under warranty.
I recentley took my car into the shop becuase my sunroof was off aligned but the guy pressed some button to try and reset it himself instead of sending it into the shop to have it inspected the right way. So I needed to travel out of town for an family emergency and while on the highway my sunroof exploded while riding on the highway. I feel like if he would have went about it the right way when I brought it in all of this would of have been avoided.
While driving on a highway using speed control at 70 mph my car suddenly kicked out of speed control and decelerated 20 mph. My car then refused to accelerate over 60 mph. The outside temperature was above 90 degrees and I had been driving for 5 and a half hours with 2 brief stops. No lights came on, and the car did not indicate it was overheating. I brought the car to my normal repair person and they informed me that it was my transmission. I brought the car to the Nissan dealership because it was still under warranty. They had a service bulletin that matched my exact issue and complaint. However, they could not reproduce the issue so I was not eligible for a new transmission. They told me it was the temperature of the fluid in my transmission and a new transmission would not solve that problem. They flushed my transmission and checked my fluid levels. They suggested if it happens again I purchase a part that is added to the transmission to cool down the transmission fluid at my own expense. They also stated that many other Rogues drivers have had this issue and suggested I contact Nissan.
While driving a highway on 65 mph sudden loss of acceleration occurs. Pressing the acceleration pedal does not make any effect on a car speed. Rpm falls to 1-2k and did not goes up. Was able to pull over and stop. After 15 minutes with the engine turned off, problem disappears. This happened for the third time, as a previously,it occurs after a long drive (more than 3 hours) or on a high speed (more than 75 mph). It is a safety concern when a car decelerated from 65 to 30 mph on a highway.
I have a Nissan Rogue s 2009, I have a banging noise from underneath the floor boards. I was made check by a mechanic and he said is the drive shaft and u joint is completely covered is rust with the drive shaft and can broke in any moment and the I have to repair not only that other parts too like the transmission, directional and so on. I went to the Nissan dealer part service and the person who work there he said that part is very expensive and for the low of mileage shouldn't happened. Is very expensive to replace is a fault of Nissan on a bad parts that they install on my truck. They need to make a recall and fix this big problem in the same way they charge for the truck and we paid, they need to replace at not cost is there responsibility for use bad parts and this is urgent I don't wants my mother, my nephew (3 y) and my nice (2 y) get into an accident and myself please help me this is urgent to bring my car for repair.
I purchased the vehicle from a reputable used car dealer used. The vehicle seemed ok very nice interior exterior appearance. On the test drive the vehicle would not shift into second or third , the dealer agreed to pay for a transmission flush. The next day when I got I n the car to drive to the Nissan dealer to have the transmission service done, I noticed the vehicle being erratic, it felt like a tire out of round or a suspension issue. When I got to the dealer I noticed the brand new tires the dealer had installed were worn on the outside. So I had them check it out , the vehicle was out of alignment. Then I noticed the oil that had been put in the vehicle was wrong 10w20 instead of 10w30. While at the Nissan dealer they performed the recall on the harness in the door. They also noticed the tires low and performed and alignment. After the transmission flush and fill, they also did the ecm updates. I noticed the vehicle was still doing the same thing it would not shift into 2nd sometimes or third. The next day. The tpms light came on again. Nissan needs to be held responsible for the lack of quality and repair these major problems that have been reported by numerous complaints. I am stuck with a lemon of a car, because my finance company would not allow me to buy what I wanted, I have to pay for this vehicle for 6 years, and I am afraid I got stuck. Buyers need to be made aware of this low quality vehicle and the manufacturers lack of regard for complaints. 70000 miles is nothing for a vehicle today, but at the high cost of repair and replacement this is unacceptable.
I was driving on 95n and getting off an exit ramp when I heard a loud noise that sounded like something fell out of my car. The loud noise then turned into a dragging noise as if something did fall out of my car. I immediately began to slow down. After stopping on the highway I realized my gear shifter was loose and I wasn't able to drive the car any longer. The police and tow truck eventually came and my car was towed to my mechanic. The car wasn't ready until this past Saturday 2/21/15. My mechanic issued me an invoice that said "drive shaft broke from transmission yoke ripping the shift cable from the shifter and broke the shifter".
The vehicle would not move when accelerating. This was the first time and since then it has happened on multiple occasions. The check engine light has not been on at all it randomly occurs. It seems that it would be an extremely hazardous situation for a vehicle to hesitate in regards to acceleration. It is anywhere from a 2-10 second delay. I have just learned that this is a common problem among many owners of the Nissan Rogue and it needs to be addressed immediately before someone is injured or worse dead. I am scheduling an appointment to address the issue but when I am making a left turn into traffic and I'm met with vehicles coming towards me as my vehicle hesitates to accelerate I would definitely consider this a life threatening issue for both me and my family.
The front driver's and passenger's door would not open from the outside. I have called Nissan to find out if there is a recall for my vehicle since I have seen all the other problems online that other people were having the same problem and they said no there was not and to take it into a dealership to have it looked at.
I was driving on the highway nothing more the 50mph. And my sunroof exploded on the high way with out notice. The glass cut my skin on my hand. And was a loud exploding sound. As I done research on my exploding sound roof incident on google on the internet. I found out I was not the only one that has experienced this sunroof glass exploding while driving. Nothing fell on my car. But caused glass to fall on me and almost a accident from shock of this happening. I am begging you to please make the 2009 Nissan Rogue sunroofs a recall. Because I was lucky enough not to die. But there may not be someone else that is luck. I just got glass cuts. I spoke to Nissan and they told me 800 dollars to fix a manufacture defect.
Vehicle lost acceleration while changing lanes and crashed with another faster car.
The right door handle suddenly became unable to open the door from the outside.
On Dec. 30 2013 went to open front drivers side door and heard a pop and door would not open, had to crawl through passenger side to open door. The next day went to open passenger side door and same thing happened. I took off door panel and could see where the cables had come off. Took to the dealer and they said on both sides the cables had popped out of the latches. They charged me $500. 00 to fix both doors. Happened again in March 2014 on passenger side.
My car was in garage running in park. Stepped out of vehicle , was standing outside door. Car shot backward out of garage, onto driveway. Never saw anything like it. Make a sharp turn with back end coming out of the driveway and facing to the right of my garage. (my two legs run over by the vehicle as it turned around). Car proceeded to turn forward down hill over front of my yard and stopping in my neighbors empty lot next to their house. Coming to a stop after hitting a tree. After looking in vehicle after it stopped, car was in parked gear.
I had driven my 2009 Nissan Rogue as I was driving for about 1 hr @ 65mph and all of a sudden the speed decreased on its own . . I let go of the gas and then quickly put my foot on the pedal again but it would not speed up. . I had my foot completely on the gas pedal. But it would not go faster than 20mph. I was driving on the freeway there could have been an accident. . . With my two kids on board. . .
Vehicle speed does not apply to this situation. The handle on the passenger door freezes or it sprung, inside the handle itself. We have had this problem fixed 3 times now since 2013, if you check there are thousands of 2009/2010 Nissan Rogues that have this same issue why? we were told by a person at one of the Nissan dealerships that there appears to be weakness in the handles mechanism. This could be very dangerous should there be a fire, accident etc, and someone needed to get a person out of that side of the car. As it is now you can not open the door from the outside! my husband has had it fixed 3 times and we feel this has got to be a recall issue due to the recurrence of the handle breaking over and over. Not to mention so many others having the same issue. It is my contention that it should be fixed by Nissan and not paid for by us this time. Your speed in handling this problem would be appreciated.
The vehicle passenger and/ or driver side, door automatically lock when car is turned off.
Both front doors got jammed? and would not open. Car was in Nissan dealership for almost 2 weeks to fix.
I just received recall notice 15v-032 for driver side water leak. My vehicle has leak on passenger side. Carpet is moldy and badly discolored. Any way the 2 are connected?.
