I was driving at night on a backroad highway & noticed the driver headlight out so I started used my brights, then noticed smoke & flames coming from the driver side headlight I immediately pulled over called 911 & tried pouring water on it myself while I wait. Took about 8 mins for police & maybe 12-15 for fire department. The police tried to use a fire extinguisher which did not work, by the time fire department got there the whole car was completely up in flames & burnt to the ground.
I was in motion on the freeway. I heard a loud pop then a metal to metal sound. I was towed to a mechanic who stated the subframe is damaged and bushings. Online searches showed me other models of Nissan were recalled for this. Mine did not show up on the recall list but it probably should. How does this just happen? I don't feel safe. I have children to keep safe. The electrical part is that my vehicle hesitates to nearly a stall, especially in idle at say stoplights. I also had to have the transmission rebuilt due to a defect with your transmission. My windshield wiper spray does not work and I was told a part would be coming in for me from japan. It's no longer under warranty and I still have not received the part. I got a lemon. I can't afford to keep up on maintaining what was supposed to be a reliable car.
Drivers side door handle, chrome outer piece cover broke. One afternoon, I went as always to open my car door and snap, the chrome cover on the drivers side door handle broke and the chrome piece for the locking mechanism fell-off as well. My question; has there been an issue with this part and/or recall. I went to have it replaced, the cost was $412. 00, therefore I did not have it replaced. Can anyone help, advising men the proper avenue to take. Thank you -frank.
