Passenger airbag sensor blinks due to a malfunction. Cost to fix is $3k due to having to replace the passenger seat where the sensor is, which is half the value of the vehicle. This has been blinking for the past year and is extremely distracting and dangerous while driving. Not sure if this means that the passenger airbag will not deploy, which is *extremely* dangerous. Additionally, when traveling, the vehicle often loses acceleration, even with the gas pedal all the way down. It becomes extremely difficult and dangerous to stop or turn. The steering wheel loses power steering, and the brakes do not engage quickly at all.
2011 Nissan rouge: the passenger air bag light that indicates the passenger airbag is not active illuminates with an adult seating in the passenger seat. The red airbag warning light on the dashboard cluster flashes. The dealer where I purchased the car states that the airbag will not deploy in a crash. The dealer wants to charge me thousands of dollars to repair this because the car is out of warranty. A web search will find many many Nissan cars with this problem. Vehicle was brought in for an oil change at 73,000 miles. No prior mvas or maintenance issues. After leaving the dealership the front dashboard airbag light was blinking intermittently. Immediately taken back to dealership and the test indicated a "front crash zone sensor failure" repair would be approximately $1800. Was told that airbag may not deploy in a collision or could deploy at random. Either dealer damaged the vehicle during oil change, or front crash sensor on model vehicle is faulty; causing high risk of injury or death in the event of a collision or malfunction.
