5 Body problem

Failure Date: 02/27/2023

The contact's deceased mother owned a 2014 Nissan Rogue that was inherited by his son. The contact stated that the vehicle had been parked in his son's driveway in the rain. The contact stated that his son later noticed that the driver's side floorboard was filled with water. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was repaired under NHTSA campaign number: 22v024000 (electrical system); however, the failure reoccurred while the vehicle was parked in the rain. The contact became aware of Nissan technical service bulletin number: ntb14-105a. The contact provided the TSB document to the dealer, who then repaired the vehicle based on the TSB instructions. The dealer discovered that the body sealing along the fire wall, below the driver's side windshield and behind the fender liners was not sealed, allowing water to leak onto the driver's side floorboard. The dealer resealed the body seal; however, upon picking up the vehicle from the dealer's parking lot, the contact noticed that the failure had reoccurred. The dealer removed the driver's seat and carpet and verified that there was no other potential water leak source. The dealer then reinstalled the seat and carpet after they had dried; however, the failure persisted. The dealer then informed the contact that they could not repair the vehicle as they did not have a master technician. The vehicle was taken back to the residence. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 67,500.

7 Body problem

Failure Date: 01/28/2022

Please note that I attempted to report this to Nissan today, but the first call I was hung up on after describing why I was calling and the second call went unanswered. At some point between 01/27/2022 and 01/31/2022, it was reported to me that my vehicle was destroyed by fire. My VIN was verified to be a part of the recent recall regarding salt water entering the driver side floor panel and causing electrical corrosion that could potentially result in fire. I did experience my driver floor board becoming wet, intermittently, after driving in rainy or wet road conditions as was described in the recent recall. The car has been completely destroyed by fire. For more information regarding investigation and vehicle location for inspection, please contact: north charleston fire department 843-740-2620 case# 22-0008846.

8 Body problem

Failure Date: 11/29/2021

Water is entering the vehicle thru a body seam that is causing the wire harness to corrode. These vehicles have had this problem since they rolled off the assembly line and Nissan knows this. On November 14, 2014 Nissan put out this service bulletin detailing how to diagnose and fix the Rogue that was brought in for service due to the carpet being wet on the driver and/or front passenger floor. It seems that when the vehicle was assembled, some body seams were not sealed correctly or not at all. In my opinion this is why the wire harness is getting wet causing it to corrode. Instead of recalling the vehicle for the real issue of water getting into the vehicle and fixing that problem, they are recalling the vehicle for the problem the water is causing. In my opinion the water entering the vehicle is the cause of the recall and should be addressed appropiately and not just by inspecting the wire harness for corrosion and applying their bandaid to the solution. Below you will find information related to the service bulletin I am referring too. Published date reference description November 14, 2014 ntb14-105 original bulletin published January 7, 2021 ntb14-105a applied vehicles updated.

I have water intrusion from the body of the vehicle due to sealant deterioration on the body. As a result the front driver floor area remains wet and has caused some rusting. Mechanic's research shows that this is happening to said vehicles with my VIN 2014 Nissan Rogue. From other complaints it doesn't show up right away when the vehicle is purchased but after a little time the sealant deteriorates or is absent and you find your foot in a fresh water puddle on your floor board. Please help Nissan correct this issue. I am told that what is shown in the attachment is what needed to be done to protect the car from further damage and rusting.

28 Body problem

Failure Date: 11/06/2015

I was driving on a highway doing 60-70 mph at night and a deer jumped out of nowhere straight in front of the car hitting the hood which opened up protecting the windshield and me inside. The air bag deployed (only on my side, not passenger's) leaving 2nd degree burns on my right hand (as estimated by a doctor at the hospital). I was given an ointment and bandage. The car itself is totaled with the front completely bent (see attachments). My issue is whether the air bag is supposed to be that hot as to burn. I can understand it'd be warm especially after driving for a while but hot to the extreme? I'm not sure if I have a strong case as to sue the manufacturer for the burns but is there anything else I can do to be compensated for this bodily injury as well as pain & suffering? thanks!.

29 Body problem

Failure Date: 08/03/2015

Sunroof explosion. My wife driving her car left home garage, traveled approximately 6 miles. She heard a loud explosion like a gunshot and pulled to side of road thinking a tire had blown. After determining the tires were ok discovered a hole approximately 12 inches by 8 inches of jagged glass missing from retractable sunroof. The glass was contained by the sliding inside sun shade. The weather was 95 degrees and clear. The car had not been sitting in the sun. Nissan dealer refused to acknowledge this as a defect or warranty issue and insisted something had hit the sunroof although there were no visible results of an object hitting it. The glass was clearly pointing out not inward to indicate the explosion was from the inside out and not the opposite. The internet details many examples of this including a lawsuit filed against kia.

30 Body problem

Failure Date: 10/07/2014

I was driving in heavy traffic taking my wife to work. I was going about 15 to 20 mph because of morning rush hour traffic in chicago is heavy. I turned my head to answer my wife and being distracted I turned my head back and saw the big SUV in front of me was stopped and I slammed on the brakes and slid into the rear of his SUV. Only a small ding and scratch I seen and my car had the bumper broken, hood bent up, crinkles in side fenders. Even the police could not believe how the car was all damaged at that type speeds and no air bags deployed. Anyway I was told probably I was going too slow and slid into the vehical in front and maybe there is a certain force to make them blow off. I got a little over $5000 damage. Like the car is as thin as a pop can and no air bags deployed. The body shop when they repair it is going to check the air bag system. . . I clled Nissan and they claim a supervisor will be calling me back in a few days. . .
